If you are here for the premiere, please take a second and say hi in the chat, and if you come by later? I'll read you in the comments below! How is the culling process in your farm?

It would be hard to decide who you have to let go! You are so close to your goats. I realize most dairy goat farmers separate babies from Mom within 24 hours so their udders are saved for showing. I have always felt badly when I see this happening. I feel terribly for the Mom’s and the babies.

It is kind of crazy to even think about it, but necessary, however, for the moms is going to have to be somebody we know since I’m not posting them for sale this year.
We will see if the right opportunity comes,
      Thanks for watching Cathy

When you look at the kittle with her hunched back she shows signs of being kathargic and not getting fed she died at 5 days because she didnt get collastrum and you might have seen her suck but its hard to tell if she was getting something you should give every baby a full stomach of collastrum even if you have to tube feed them.

Oh no she was crushed by mom, in that video they were just born and haven’t really unfolded, they were also wet.
Sadly mom stepped on her and crushed her ribs 😕

Although I am still very new at this, I have had great luck with getting my kids on the bottle the second day but still giving them time with their moms after milking. 7am I milk moms but I bottle fed babies that had been separated over night at 6am. I wouldn't milk moms dry but collect most. Than I put moms and kids together for a few hours. About 9;30/10am I separated moms from babies and bottle fed about 3-4 hours apart (2 times) Than I would milk out moms, leaving a little for the kids. About 9pm I would separate moms for the night. I have two does, one had a single and the other had quads,, and it has worked with both situations. I love your channel and your way!

Did you ever think it’s the food we’re buying I’ve noticed there’s a big difference in the look of food Did you see what there doing with chickens not laying eggs Found out they took vitamins out so they wouldn’t lay eggs I’m thinking there doing the same thing going to have my food tested this week

I didn’t think of that, but guess what? My ducks, even the 1 year old ones are NOT LAYING, and my 2 year old ducks none… no eggs at all.
FYI I feed Purina duck feed ( they are a huge company so maybe? )
I thought maybe they were laying in the woods to hatch them but no no eggs anywhere, so I decided to lock them in their pen for a week, no eggs, there is no way they are not able to lay eggs.
And as far as the goats, to be honest, I thought about the bay, which is most of their diet, we had that horrible drought and I remember my hay guy saying, the hay won’t be the same this year, it won’t be as nutritious, so think about supplementing.
      And I thought, how?
Then some wouldn’t go into heat in the fall, like the weirdest thing ever!
Eventually they did but my hay guy told me when the drought is this bad like last year, it’s different, not as nutritious.
So you maybe unto something for sure!

@@TheHeavenlyHomestead I will let you know this week.
I have been breeding my goats for 3 1/2 yrs but there is something going on
My goats are not giving as much milk and the problems are so unreal They were all healthy mommas had pretty easy labor’s almost every one of my goats have had problems in there delivery. The hay looks bad the sweet feed looks like bird food there minerals look good I get that from Azure. They love cookies looked that up and it’s filled with toxic stuff aluminum Barium and other stuff took them off gram crackers I give them dried or fresh apples cranberries but looked at it and they do the same thing apples I get from Azure there ok but there is traces of Aluminum in it that from what there spraying everyday in the sky’s
I raise Nigerian goats there butter fat had gone down I had there blood tested they were free of all goat CAE Cl Johans all clean
For there milk stars every one of them went down in the amount and butter fat
The food quality is bad and I will find out what’s going on and definitely let you know I’ve checked with a lot of breeders and there having the same issues problems with there reproduction low milk
I’m the one that mentioned about the food
My chickens are laying eggs now that I mix my own food and give them food left over. Tractor supply and Wal Mart were in on that Purinia was the one and so was Primium not sure of other companies
Check out your dog food too there doing the same on that too
Go to Dane Wigington at Geoengineeringwatch.org
Tons of proven facts going on
Kill the farmer and there animals and crops
      We’re in big trouble
But I will let you know

You should never leave a baby with a squishy belly you should make sure they get collastrum from you with a tube period.

    • @TheHeavenlyHomestead
      @TheHeavenlyHomestead  Рік тому

Yes they do, get colostrum but I’m saying that that is the problem, that there is always one of her quads that has a swishy belly, so I’m trying to figure out why, the point being, that there is always one that needs help.
So is she not producing enough? Or is she not patient enough to stand for all of them?
And it’s her kids only, and only one of them. So that is why I got the red flag that something is up. So now I need to decide if im separating 2 and let her raise the other 2 ( in the future if she has quads) or if I should take them all and assume she is not a great mom?
That is my big question really, and why this is her last chance to prove herself either as a good mom or as a good producer for bottle babies.
      We will see
Thank you for your suggestions and ideas., I love to hear from others that have experience
