Frozen River hasn’t been published in U.K. yet. I’ve preordered it. I hope you like Deluge as much as me. It was my number one book of 2023. @@jacquelinemcmenamin8204 The Deluge is blowing my socks off! So glad I am finally reading it. And reading it while Kamala Harris is running for President is mind bending.
Thank you, Heidi, and congratulations on those 1000+ pages!!!🌷I loved The Housekeeper and the Professor too, and would like to read something else by Yoko Ogawa. I think I’ll skip The Memory Police though… However, a new novel has just come out (in Europe on August 15), Mina’s Matchbox. I can’t remember on whose booktube channel I first heard about it, but I do remember that it sounded appealing and added it to my wishlist. 😊📚
The Ariel Lawhon book sounds amazing! I really loved another of her books - Code Name Helene so I shall definitely add this one to my TBR. Well done on meeting your page goal 😊
Congrats on meeting your reading goal AND on persevering with Memory Police. The monstrous lobster creatures in King’s book sound intriguing; I am glad that book was a success for you. Your vlog clips reminded me that I am hoping to do a capsize experience this week, providing that I am feeling well enough. This is a requirement at my rowing club if we want to row in a single without pontoons. Which I do.
@@myreadinglife8816 I have been missing it. I successfully completed the capsize exercise yesterday-it only took about 15 minutes but the effort gave me a bad headache. A sign that it’s too soon to return to regular rowing yet.
I have gone back and forth about whether or not to try The Memory Police. I don’t really like dystopian. I think I will keep passing on it. Congrats on achieving your reading goal.
Hurray for mature lady protagonists! I will have to check that one out, it sounds harrowing but well worthwhile. So funny I started on Housekeeper and Professor today, also loving it. Its always good to encounter authors with a broad range, but H&P seems a very you book, and Memory Police not at all 😅 not too surprised it was not a success.
The book by Yoko Ogawa has stayed with me, I thought it was fantastic, I gave it 5 stars! The Swedish translation is called The Island of Lost Memories.
I want to reread the Ulrich book before I read Frozen River-I recognize that that’s not necessary, but I think it would be a cool reading experience. Libby is looking so big!! I’m glad your family member didn’t bang his head on the dock. (Was that Eddie?)
@@theredheadisreading2251 it was Eddie! 🤣 He didn’t hit his head thankfully. Libby is a lean mean hunting machine! I totally get wanting to read the nonfiction before the fiction. I am the same!
The Frozen River will be one of my favorites for 2024💜
@@janethughes7661 Yay! Glad you loved it too!

Memory Police is a weird book, and I wouldn't have picked it as a Heidi-book...
