Love a good moment outside even if the sun doesn't cooperate! Really happy you've started joining sprints ❤
Good luck with your ants! My husband has been fighting ants. I don't always notice them but he will find an ant even if it is so small I can hardly see it. It is his constant crusade
Melinda: I have to tell you that James at Quaint and Curious Volumes reads a poem in his video today by Szymborska, and he specifically talks about how he fell in love with her name! He pronounces it very well--I think. You might enjoy seeing/hearing that. Sorry for your family's loss. Such a great month you've had so far!
I'm so glad you found Wislawa Szymborska's poems accessible. I think even the bugs are experiencing climate change issues. I heard from someone in pest control that calls have increased this summer. My issue is mosquitoes...they eat me up. Happy anniversary! I hope you guys still get to celebrate and have fun 🫶🏽
Sounds like a successful Mid Month Book Bash!
Ants are so persistent. I wish you luck with that. I hope you get a lot of strawberries and tomatoes!
How many ants does it take to fill an apartment? Ten ants! Best wishes with what you are reading.
The lake looks like it was lovely. You were reading so many different things, it makes sense you needed to kind of set a similar one aside.
I have a different Gloss novella that's SF, and have never seen the one you picked up, but I know she is a serious horse person, so I expect it was at least realistic in that area as far as you got 😃
All About Cats! What a great name for a vet.
I've had some very invasive bugs and spiders this year, and I did also have issues with ants and the kittens food because they basically have to have food out all the time. My best solution was making the food raised and cleaning the path between the wall and the dish very very often.
I had no idea Molly Gloss also wrote SF! I only knew of two of her books--this one and one about the Oregon Trail, which I may still read (and now I'm prepared for a lot about horses!).
Yes, All About Cats is a great vet name! Not surprisingly, they only see cats. I originally started going there with my previous cat who really hated dogs, The only vet anxiety he had was around dogs in the waiting room. Now, my feisty Alice hates cats (and probably dogs. Really, she hates most things), but the vets here know about her "psychological issues" so as long as I can get drug her up before I take her, she usually doesn't cause any injuries! But the tech still wears the arm-length gloves with her!
