you asked about the percentage. if it gets below 70% it means that you're number one box scr filters are clogged and you have to replace the number one box. you will get code 4364 FMI 18 which means low conversion and possibly this one has no effect supposably. 3364 2 which causes your Def amber light to Flash which will affect your engine and de-rate your engine 25%. you only have to replace your number one box if everything else in troubleshooting fails! one thing that I know that is not on here is possible bad ground from batteries to frame and from frame 2 starter and cab. I'm a diesel mechanic with 34 years experience. don't know all about the new def systems but I think I know enough now.
IF & or ( more likely ) WHEN , You pull in for that inspection by the D.O.T. You may just get the mandatory " privilege " of paying for that " disappearing act " You hinted at ( not to mention the added expense of making that problem reappear plus the additional expenses of down time , the additional cost of the loss of a load ) !!!!
Any def problems do not take to dealers they have no idea what they are doing.take it to an actual detroit. I have isx cummins kept takeing it to peterbuilt they kept relpacing part at crazy prices last time they told me was egr cooler was bad and the egr valve was bad .the egr valve only had 11 miles on it total bill they quotet was 14000 yes thousand told them to give me bill for checking it out took it to cummins all it was that the dozer valve was clogged 200 dollar fix cummins also explained how to maintaine egr system and how to clean it all have not had a problem in over a year STAY AWAY from dealers

Which is why you 1 code that turns into 2 to 3. Def filter is all u needed replacing. Im about to replace my filter but codes havent came back as soon as i put the box def.
My friend them dealers charges for everything. Houston,TX freightliner is the worst they chargers me $24000 to install a quantity valve and the part was lest than $200. I would recommend that anytime you take your truck to any dealer or shop check if they are giving you the discount for parts they going to use as core because they will take your part and sell you the new for full price if you don't check.
Glacka Glack stay away from Shreveport Louisiana, they put a dent in my pocket just to look at my problem . $700 When TA only charge me $100 for the same info the dealer got. Only reason I went to the dealer was because everybody was telling me you need to take it to the dealer the Dealer's the only ones that can fix that problem.
To all the people saying delete ur DPF.... Running with a DPF delete system 'on the road' is illegal. It's that simple. If you read the literature that comes with the pipe it clearly states “for off road use only” .... So if you delete and run on road and get caught it wont be pretty.
Take get hold Pittsburgh power in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and ask them about Dorothy it is device they made to help cut the sut down and it helps with with ur EGR and by way don't do a delete on EGR it will screw up everything in time so little advise for u brother and they do warranty work to

Lol. Miscellaneous. I had a boss ask that question. Mechanic said that he use six cans of brake fluid to clean the parts and clean down oil spill. Boss said hell with that. That's on you. Trying to charge $120 Might want to ask that. They'll probably tell you that they use shop towels , gloves, hand cleaner, glass cleaner , disposing the old parts. List goes on. It just seems DEF problems never go away. Where does it say in the owner's manual on the maintenance part when to replace parts just like on a regular car.
Question do u have to sign out ur truck and sign into the borrowed truck eld and as a owner op how does that work do u have to print out ur summary also what if u run out of hours can as a owner op u give ur self personal drive time

If probed and caught truck is impounded, ..... and you are done. Currently probing in Colorado Cali, Texas, South Carolina etc, no one can work on it. If an independent shop touches it and fails to report you, 100k fine to shop and epa sends under covers, super bad advice unless you want to total your truck and destroy resale. Find a good technician that actually understands the fundamentals of aftertreatment repair.
