We’re Colin and Samir, creators based out of Los Angeles California. We make videos about the creator economy, and the lessons we’ve learned over 10 years of being on UA-cam. We also interview creators and try to get to the bottom of what’s working on UA-cam and where the creator economy is headed.
The dry humour during the guys tour of Mogul's rundown, dystopian-level office and all the random stuff is absolutely hilarious. Ludwig just says everything with a straight face while showing piles of trash and empty rooms lol

Ludwig seems like the perfect example of someone who knows to surround himself with people that are smarter than him to get things done. Being able to hire someone and trust them enough to do things on their own is really admirable & it's not really easy.
[Edit] Saw Ludwig reacted to this! To be clear, I’m not calling him stupid or anything. Acknowledging that you cannot learn and do everything and embracing that is a great quality to have as a leader. 👏
I know he says we only ever see him at his best, but he really does seem like such an incredible guy. You can tell he puts a lot of thought into how he can use his position for good rather than trying to get himself as big as possible

@@mattg2551 Shake, Archie, Polite are all goobers but they're some of the best editors in the business. I just saw Archie post a promo vid that he made for Hivemind and it's absolutely insane, they're all super talented.
Yingo is one of lud's closest friends and helps him keep his life together and organized which is no small task, even if he's a bit of a goober himself
Fortunately it’s very easy for Ludwig to find people smarter than him
It’s very interesting to see Lud talking so candidly about the business. He’s usually cracking jokes but a good amount of the time here he’s legitimately just talking about how he runs thing. Super interesting.
Colin, Samir, I beg of you guys to do a longer form documentary with him. The fact he's a creator willing to be candid and honest and how well the three of you gel is so amazing. I just want more!

I love how slightly unedited this was, like the camera guys and boom ops were there. Lots of camera shake, just felt so authentic. I'v also never seen this side of Ludwig. No idea how that guy is just so calm.
Haha sometimes you gotta just lean into it, felt right in this.
the camera shakes in some shots where way too much and it was noticable that they where unintentional for example some of the still b roll shots or camera pans that is just bad filmmaking and not a stylistic choice
they just ran out of good shots and had to use the shaky ones in the edit
also in some shots the framing is wayy of
loved how open and honest Ludwig was from the business side of being a creator; huge respect to him for that and the way he cares about his employees + the companies he's a part of.
This is actually really cool to see the BTS stuff for Ludwig. It feels like he's everywhere, but this made me realise we only get to see so much

I started watching Ludwig last year and until very recently I didn't realize just how smart he is.
I've long understood that successful business people diversify, they never put everything in one basket. Take your profit from one project and invest in something else.
Ludwig is a clever businessman, and he's an ethical one. I hope all the people who work with him understand and appreciate that.
I'm gonna enjoy everything he does right up until he retires to go and open his bakery in Japan.

As someone who works with coops, the fact that Offbrand is converting to a worker-coop is amazing! Most people don’t realize coops exist outside of the agricultural/farming sector so to see a company (a creator one at that) talk about the viability of cooperatives makes me so happy.
Man, I really love how Collin and Samir can talk to anybody! I learn so much every time, and I think it's thanks to the way you can bring out everything from these creators.
HIs ability to stay super lowkey while still executing on big ideas is incredible. Most people who have such big aspirations tend to be a little frantic, but he manages to cut through with a calmness.
I love Ludwig turning Offbrand into employee owned. That's crazy but also really cool and seems like a caring move to make. Also it seems like there's a lot to learn form Ludwig and how he does business despite the way he talks being so low key. There's way more going on than he gives way. Although it doesn't seem like he's purposefully holding back, just seems like how he sees it.
You absolutely forget that ludwig is not just mr streamer man. Crazy how hard hes working on 2 companies, while streaming, podcasting, and showing up to do collabs all across the streamer community.

ludwigs office is so crazy cause each room will be like "fully kitted out gym space", "the set of getting over it irl", "a wizards chamber", "a completely normal editing bay", "the unmitigated power of the sun" and "a back yard (also entirely inside)"

It's great to see how level minded Ludwig is. He trusts his people which is huge in any sort of job not being micro managed all the time. He throws money into content whether it's a guaranteed payout or not just to create fun and interesting things for his viewers. He has a long term goal and great exit strategy. The man deserves an award for legitimacy and authenticity.

As someone who's been in the streaming, twitch, content space for 6 years now it's pretty interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes with a creator as successful as Ludwig. It's amazing to see what opportunities are out there for aspiring creators and how far the potential can be expanded in the business world. Appreciate you both for making this video and showing the transparency of all the factors that go into business decisions, revenue etc.

I really enjoyed the style of this video. It gave a behind the scenes look at the way Ludwig does things, while also keeping it natural. These videos are always my favorite, but are uncommon.

Really cool insight to see exactly how his businesses run. I knew there were some staff but didn’t know how many people were needed to make all the events. Also huge respect for how open he is with the costs, revenue, etc..

I saw Nick or Malena say this before, but it's amazing how Ludwig just flips his YT switch on. He can go from casual talk, to all of a sudden a clean ass improvised YT intro.
awesome video! ludwig is one of the creators to watch, he's got connections to so many others - offline tv, twitch streamers (fuslie, miyoung, sykunno etc), mrbeast and karl, youtube (valkyrae etc) and even kick (sapnap etc). looking forward to seeing what he does next :D
This video has such a beautiful, quiet, poetic, artistic, understated aesthetic. The grading, the framing, the sound, everything. It feels nostalgic and meaningful in a really fragile, gentle way. Hats off to the team.

Amazing behind the scenes of Ludwig and very amazed to hear about the workers co-op that is a great way forward for himself and employees and I gotta applaud him for that. Many content creators see themselves as the be-all-and-end-all and for Ludwig to have this vision and to be able to implement a system for his employees where they have a stake and decision with OffBrand is impressive and very commendable

Ludwig is literally living the dream. This is exactly where I feel most content creators (or at least me) would like to go. Being able to have a company like Off brand producing interesting varied projects and doing good by your employees

Wow, this was such a well-edited, insightful, and all-around great documentary. Had no idea of the size of Ludwig's operation. Online content companies like his are going to take market share from the live cable TV guys for sure.

Didn't' know much about Ludwig before this, but learned he's a brilliant creator today and funny AF.
Lud creates a very casual environment for work, yet it remains sustainable because everyone cares about what is being done, like his community, Lud takes the responsibility of making a healthy environment for everyone super seriously, yet he shows that efficiency can come from respect and fun responsibility.
I love Lud's comment about the time of arrival. "Why is no one here", "I dunno it's 10am lmao" "So when does work start" "I dunno people roll in..." (and clearly do the work, they work what they need to, no need to act like you're working to keep your job, that is so needed everywhere man...)

Ludwig seriously has to be the best boss to have. Its amazing how humble he has stayed and how obviously he actually cares about who his workers are

You know, you respect a creator sometimes and you don’t truly understand why until you get to see all the behind the scenes that is going on. This video has been truly insightful and this is definitely the video I will use to present Ludwig to people who aren’t familiar with his game from now on.
I adore how somewhat uncut this was, as if the boom operators and cameramen were actually present. A lot of camera shake; it seemed very real. I haven't seen this side of Ludwig before either. I have no idea how the guy stays that composed.

12:38 Ottomated being the maverick dev he is, is the only reason why I (or any avid Twitch viewer) took Ludwig's starter productions seriously. Glad to see him being name dropped so often. Compared to other devs in the space he's pretty rated but I would still consider him underrated because of how vital he was in making Ludwig's transition from Twitch to UA-cam so seamless.
