  • The best motivation I ever got was when I didn't get what I wanted. Thats what happened to me when I got turned down from my dream job. Not getting my dream job gave me the best motivation I ever got because it gave me the push i needed to follow my dreams.
At the time, I didn't get the job, I was devastated. I thought it was the dream job I always wanted. But, it turned out to be the push I needed to follow my dreams with action. It gave me the persistence to quit my job and travel forever. It pushed me to quit my job and start a business. Not getting my dream job motivated me to quit my corporate job for a simple life. It was the "everything happens for a reason" motivation I needed to follow my dreams.

Ex Apple Store employee, place has definitely changed.. heard the same excuse from ‘leadership’ so many times, don’t even get me started on leadership at the fruit stand. Oh well, congratulations on one door closing and one door opening.

oh i know. i couldn’t be held back anymore. it really was the push i needed. so in hindsight, i’m actually really thankful i didn’t get that job. i would have stayed there until my last days. working in a retail store. for the rest of my life. no thank you.

I’m an Apple phone and pad guy for sure, but I’m not sure how much longer they are going to be around. The new devices do not come with a charger while they gave a flimsy excuse why. The Apple TV is horrible and I cancelled it even when was free with my service. Their corporate stores are a real joke now as well.

Hey man! Truly inspired by your story. It’s amazing how it all plays out for you, and I’m happy for you! Just genuinely curious, what did you do for Apple? And what was the job you were turned down for?

      thanks!
i was mostly a Specialist when i was there. which is their term for the normal sales person. the job i wasn’t selected for was ‘Tech And Merchandising Pro’ which is a lead position where you mostly do all the programming for their demo units and lead their visual merchandising team. i would have essentially been the person responsible for making the store look pretty and make sure everything worked correctly for customers
