It's true.

Imagine getting into black metal after watching lords of chaos bruh
Imagine disappointment of ppl figuring out that Varg wasn't chubby...
I watched it just to see how bad it was. It's not the worst movie I've seen. The self harming/suicide of Dead and the stabbing scenes are as grim as you'd expect. Guess it'll be easier to weed out the poseurs based on it.
i cant think of anything more cringe tbh
as a film, I liked it for the cinematography, but I went in knowing it wasn't going to be accurate and watched as a film and nothing more and thoroughly enjoyed it despite the inaccuracies.
I know girls who started listening to black metal like that. but they are 15-16 years old so
“Lords of chaos movie is so good” 💀
Hey.. it's at least interesting if you take away the accuracy haha
EDIT: had no idea I had 41 likes lol, thought I had like 2, y'all are awesome
I found it really funny, it is not made to be taken 1st degree in my opinion
I just pretended that it was a comedy movie, and then it became a decent movie. Also i was drunk when i watched it, that probably helped too.
I’ve been a BM fan since I was 14. I saw lords of chaos at age 24 and enjoyed it quite a lot even though it’s not accurate
Eeeeee
I think white guitars are actually trve kvlt, because they resemble a snowy forest
This guy gets it
White guitar with black winter pickups 👌
Varg used a half black half white peavey.
Heck yes.
You know what you got a point
I thought Behemoth would cause me get possessed by a demon when I was like 11
Yeah so did my friend who showed me them. But he was like 15 at that point, so I was like, bruh, pls say sike rn
Hahahahahahaha
No, but drugs may have that effect. Trust me.
@@Aquarius999FJS
No way... Which drugs?!?!
@America: depends on your mental constitution. To some people it could be the "hard" drugs, in my opinion mostly alcohol abuse but to some only weed is needed. And if your queston is ironic: nothing to laugh about.
"I wanna try out playing some black metal riffs but theres no place for me to record properly except a old abandoned garage....wait what do you mean thats perfect?"
It doesnt really matter where you record. You only need a 5 inch speaker with a hole in the cone and a humming microphone. You can place them in tin can to isolate unwanted noise.
@@Apebek lol
I mean I've recorded all over. It depends what sound you want I suppose. But really any space can work for recording as long as you have enough room for all your stuff & such. My bedroom is my own studio, it's a 2 car garage converted into a bedroom, lots of insulation, and drum recordings, along with other types of recordings, sound just fine to me. If I want to make them sound high quality, or tin can raw quality, both methods are easily achievable through various means.
For black metal, it's best to incorporate the use of a 4 track cassette tape recorder. Can even run it into your audio interface, then record into your daw with it, instead of onto cassette tapes. Or you can use tapes. Both processes yield different sounds. Digital recording works too, but ehh, for black metal, I highly recommend the usage of analogue equipment, i.e. a tape recorder.
It's all really fun stuff.@@Apebek
@@s.t.5590 I live in a small appartment so I can't turn on my amp really loud. I made a wooden box/closet with sound insulation. I put my amp and microphone in it and then I can turn my amp very loud and no sound from outside gets inside. I think it sounds good. Ten times better then amp sims. They suck really bad imo.
Why would you put a cassette recorder in your daw? Wouldn't that just function as a microphone which the daw turns back into digital?
@@Apebek oof yea I can’t ever live in apts. I bought a house after building my credit for years. Gonna sell it and buy another house. I don’t think I could go back to renting.
The band Farvann is listening to in the end is so underground it literally has to do it's gigs in his house.

"Yea, I'm a huge black metal fan, digging it after Farvan and Zimorog videos, they're so funny!"
Visionary
Prophetic.
Will happen, probably
I'm glad I learned by a friend showing me Horna when I was 13 in 2007 or something like that. Then I found Satanic Warmaster, Beheriet, Impaled Nazarene, Mayhem, Morbid, Gorgoroth, Sargeist, Goatmoon, and from there it just grew and grew on my own.
Within 1 year of knowing of black metal, I was already forming black metal bands with local musicians into the same style of music (not many of them... was lucky to find a few groups though).
Didn't have any UA-cam to 666% teach me about it or introduce me to it. I mean, I could've came across some black metal on UA-cam, but I probably never would've looked it up specifially trying to find some music like that... But once I found it through people I knew, listened through their mp3 player or whatever, I instantly knew this form of art connected strongly with me. I already knew death, thrash, and heavy metal did. Then came black metal, and later on eventually grindcore as well.
Lmfao, I got to lose my virginity fucking a girl up her ass, and get introduced to black metal, all when I was 13. I'm 30 now, so if anyone can tell, this is a life-long thing. Most the people who were into black metal back then that I knew, they're all posers, seeing as they turned their back on metal and playing music all together. Pretty lame, but most people are like that. That's why I'm learning all instruments myself. Only guitar, bass, and keys left to learn.
"what do you mean theyre out of shirts?" and "so do i actually have to buy physicals to support the band or is spotify fine" fucking killed me oh my god
" Ghaal is literally like, the best member of Bathory."
Oh, I thought he is member of pussy riot?
Please stop.
Its called slipknot
😅
Wasn't ghaal the dude from emperor who killed himself?
The funny thing is that Varg probably recorded his early Burzum albums on a white guitar.
Because he like white color 😉
It was a black peavey
As I recall that guitar was more ducktape than peavey lol
The Westone?
He *really* hates the color black
"What do you mean there's bands outside Norway?"
"Not even the band knows how to play it" DAMN YOU UNDERGROUUUUUND
"I can't afford any proper recording software. All I have is my kid's fisher price casette-....oh that's fine?"
I like how hopefully naïve you potray the beginner. *Listen to Mayhem* "Wow these guys sound really cool, They were probably some really nice dudes to hang out with :)"
Tbf, most bm artists are nice and chill. Mayhem is an exception.

"Yeah, Friedrich Nietzsche" hahaha. For me it was the other way around. I came in contact with his philosophy through Bathory.
That's the joke!
@@Opuskrokus Alright I didn't get it then haha. But then it would be more of an "intermediate" blacker than a beginner one. As a beginner I wasn't too bothered to read the lyrics or the booklets, let alone know who Nietzsche was in the first place haha!
I found black metal first then I read _Thus Spoke Zarathustra_ out of pure curiosity about a year later.
@@damnedbelowjudas_ I read it too. That's an interesting book but it's not too easy to understand because it's written in a very symbolic way
Not enough people read his works. I love books though, so I collect them.
The Black Book of Satan is another great book if one is into or getting into Black Metal. Many Finnish Black Metallers are into it, along with many other black metallers from around the world like Black Funeral, etc.@@damnedbelowjudas_

"Wait the bass is on max already?" Haha so true. Whenever I listen to black metal I'm like, is there even a bass player???
and justice for all got nothing on black metal bass
@nesticle 8bit idd, that's where my mind goes as well when people mention black metal bass, Marduk have a bunch of songs with extremely good bass lines as well, Azrael comes to mind
@@temayte9553 Don't forget Ungfell
Black metal with lots of bass is the best!
@MorningStar9443 thanks for the recommendation
I'm pretty sure some beginners would say...
_“Gene Simmons looks Black Metal and he created corpse paint!”_
Wouldn't they?
Slayer did too.
Remember that time they wore eyeliner?
I think only Gene Simmons says that. And that's only because he couldn't patent the corpse paint look.
@@RogueBoyScout Gene Simmons and The Kiss Fanatics actual to believe this. You can pull up a video of Screaming Jay Hawkins, Lord Sutch, Arthur Brown or even Cooper and they will say "Gene made it Famous". Honestly, Peter Gabriel in Genesis around 1967 was in Corpse Paint but Prog is left out of the discussion for some reason.

Давай туториал по христианскому Блэк металу)
Bm isn't repetitive, does have guitar solos and is often well produced without reducing the guitar distortion, otherwise, bm is being given a bad name. I see it as the most varied type of music if anything. Death metal can be repetitive, lack solos and production. The ending honestly gave me concert nostalgia though.
Yeah but beginners most likely dont distinguish the sounds due to over distortion especially if bad quality(awesome) recording all they understand is wasps till they listen to a song few times
depends on what kind of black metal you're thinking about :D
BM is repetitive and minimalistic af but bands do experiment with song structures and stuff so its not boring
exactly i remember when i first listen a blazr in the northern sky i said this is shit. then as i listen more i discovered the beauty in it. thats why i always say true bm listeners are good at listening details and discovering the richness of music whatever genre it is.
@@neonwitch1449 Depends on the bands. Emperor and Dissection are everything but repetitive and minimalistic.

I feel like these days I see a lot of "I've been listening to loads of Black Metal recently! Lorna Shore and Shadow of Intent are great!"
I feel jealous of people who have been into Black Metal for decades.. I only discovered it in 2020, it's become by far my favourite music in the world and everything about it is so captivating.

@@MicroAcid Spotify is awful to artists, only paying them .0000002 of a penny per stream. Plus the CEO wants bands to act like it's a day job, rather than having the band as a creative escape
@@arcwiz Tbh most of black metal bands are pretty shit people so i wont care less lol

**ancient Quorthon's scream**
I was interested in the culture way before I got into the music. I only got into the music for real by mistake because I was really pissed off, felt extremely hateful for reasons I won't go into, and I was listening to a playlist of aggressive, assorted metal songs. There was one song that came on (can't remember the name) that I liked a lot, so I checked the subgenre, and lo and behold, it was Black Metal. From there, I started listening to a lot of demos, EPs, and different subgenres of BM that I thought would fit the vibe I was in. I've recently started to appreciate the symphonic, more epic songs. Also, I'm gonna be murdered for saying this, but I enjoyed Lords of Chaos. It was entertaining.
another one: [Watching a top 10 black metal bands ever]
Where's Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth? They should atleast be in top 5!
PS: I love old Dimmu Borgir and COF, so don't attack me.
Mourning Palace + Blodlust and Wargasm are among the best songs ever. There's absolutely no shame in loving it. It's just elitist bs to talk it down.

One of the few things I'm proud (?) of is that I started to listen to black metal thanks to Bathory, Dissection and Tormentor. Can you imagine how "evil" I felt when listening to Under The Sign of The Black Mark at 14? Lmao
I was 13. Listening to Horna, Mayhem, Bathory, Dissection, Satanic Warmaster, Goatmoon, A**an Blood, Impaled Nazarene (early), Beherit, Goatpenis, Absurd, Morbid, and so on. By the time I was 14, I knew of a lot more bands. Ahh the good old 2006-2008 days.
as someone whos only been listening to black metal for like 2 years, honestly whenni firsr started getting into it i was the complete opposite, nothing felt new when it came to lyrics cos ive always listened to dark music lol
