Ernesto & Kirsty Bertarelli's Superyacht VAVA II arrives in Fort Lauderdale. A superyacht of this length is a strange sight in the summer. I worked on this when it was being built in Plymouth. Only the insulation, but still saw it from a shell to the day it left. Remember having to go in one of the main cabins once it was fitted out and had to remove my overalls and shoes whilst a crew member stood and watched me so I didn’t take anything! I remember the crew decks and cabins were a better quality than some on the owners cabins on other yachts- they even had a gym for the crew on board!

I saw Vava II in Barbados a couple of years ago and it is a remarkable yacht. It anchored off shore near Bridgetown.

Recently opened a port in my area, the yachts are all foriegn, and all the crew seems to be busy all the time working and cleaning. Any one know what there pay is, or if it's fun work, travelling
