Tender to SAVANNAH at 3:10 When I get a superyacht, I'm going to name her CHICKEN just to I can name the tender.. CHICKEN TENDER.
I like your style!
It has an amazing underwater lounge you can see near the stern.
I saw when they boat was leaving man it left I think two days who that boat is huge man I do daywork an I saw it at pier sixty six
Ok so I have a stupid question: this yacht is obviously fully operational, so doesn't it have all the cool "bells and whistles" that modern yachts have? Like bow/stern thrusters and maybe azipod drives? Anf if so, why the need for tugs?
Where it was going, about a mile north of the bridge, does not have enough room to turn around, so it either has to go up backwards or come out backwards, it is easier/faster to have it dragged backwards with tugs.
ZipZapPower. Ok so do you know if te ships engines need to idle astern in gear or if they're kept running on stand-by?
From Steel Marine Towing, the company that did this tow.. "The yachts engine is not in gear while we are towing them. Some do keep them running to certain seals and some shut the main engine off while we tow them" www.steeltowing.com/
Now that I think about it, its probably easier on the engines for the ship to be towed rather than idle the engines in gear... Idling is hard on everything. Saves on fuel too
side note... in this case, SAVANNAH is a hybrid, she can run on battery power when needed
Ha! Lived aboard our Viking 46' sportfisherman at Bahia Mar the winter after graduating college. Some fond memories.
The tugs are necessary as the channel north from Port Everglades through the bridge to Bahia Mar is fairly narrow for an 83.5 x 12.5 meter superyacht. The opening under the drawbridge is only 125' wide, which is 38 meters. This leaves about 12.5 meters on either side of the boat if it is centered through the bascule piers. The point of view from the tugs at either end of the boat allow the tug pilots to better line up the passage through the bridge.
Also, and just as important, the channel on the north side to Bahia Mar has two 90°+ bends. Savannah is a single-screw, (w/ controllable-pitch propeller [CPP]) vessel with a azimuthing (rotating), electric stern CCP thruster for maneuvering and propulsion. She also has a ccp azimuth bow thruster. Even with these maneuvering capabilities, the tugs allow for better centering in the channel. Google this yacht as it has truly amazing features and ground-breaking technologies.
Super nuta ! Kto słucha w 2019 ? Polacy jesteście tu ? :D
very nice lines but looks a little top-heavy
Fat Boy I was thinking the same thing
Yeah, I get that impression too.
What flag is she flying? Same flag as the Skat.
Cayman Islands. Over half the super yachts in the world are on their Shipping Registry. This offers a unique set of benefits & standards which are helpful within the private yachting community and commercial shipping operations. You'll see this flag on many of the private yachts and super yachts in these videos.

it cost 100 million?
that is what I have heard.
..can't get used to the hull design..
Anyone know why it is being towed?
The waterway and marina it is going to does not have an area big enough for it to turn around in so it has to go up backwards or it has to come out backwards.
@@ZipZapPower save the tugs if they just put a back up camera on the boat....
Looks like a dinghy compared to those cruise ships.
.... It has a bow like the Titanic, straight down. Ugly ! Apart from that, it is a beautiful ship !
To narrow looking to top heavy and way to enclosed but them again nice lines and I need can't afford it just my. 02
It is a lot wider than it looks. You have to remember this is 274 feet long or 83.5 meters! This yacht is huge!
Hotrod Hog good point
That's Fort Lauderdale? The water looks atrocious.
if I had a yacht like this this yacht is too big if my network two billion dollars I rather spend 10 million on a yacht
Its proportions are all wrong. It's up there with "A" in terms of ugliness. Probably looks best from the inside.
Look very boring
