It’s a lot of hard work doing winter camping. Its a matter of survival if you don’t have the right tools.
So many factors to consider in extreme cold conditions.
I admire Vivian, she is not a complainer and pitches in and helps.

Those Stanley thermoses are the real deal. I remember my dad and grandad both using those when i was a kid. They both had lunchboxes that were made to fit them so you only had one thing to carry. The lunchboxes had a hole in one end that the thermos lid (and matching cup) protruded from. The coffee always came out steaming hot. 😊
P.S. that guy from Iowa sure was hard to hear!

Great video! Growing up, my dad had that thermos and it went everywhere with us. And now as an adult I have one as well. In case you didn't know, you don't need to remove the green cap the whole way to pour. There's 2 arrows on the top and you unscrew about half way and point one arrow away from you and then pour.

Nice stove. They do a great job building them. You could trim the legs down so a standard 1 ft. pipe works. Easy to change out instead of cutting pipe to length. Be good to line it with fire bricks on the bottom and around the sides. Since it will be stationary during it's life at the canvas tent. I bet it did feel great when you go it going. Working and sweating will freeze you to death. Good camp. NWT to Idaho isn't bad given weather conditions. Enjoyed All good from east Kentucky USA

After watching several of these walltent stove videos it seems to be an universal way of lightning the stove by making a small fire first and only then adding the bigger pieces of wood and then closing the door or what do you call that hinged thing. You might try the reverse option of starting with a layer or two of bigger logs and then building your starting kindling on top of that and and ligth that and close the door immediately with air intakes fully open. In the woods one mostly has a lot to do and this "light and forget" method saves a lot of time. When you do your other chores and hear the fire starting to "gallop" you adjust the burning down a little by closing the air intakes appropriately. Actually, the same starting method goes with making an outside fire as the bigger chunks of wood underneath prohibit the cooling effect of moist earth.

Nice stove. My hunting camp stove is 1/8" thick steel and radiates nicely. We have a 14 x16 wall tent with 5 foot walls and we have the stove about 6 feet from the back wall. We always build the upside down fire so once it's going you don't have to tend it for about 20 minutes. I would also recommend an Ecofan to help move the warm air. Thanks Dave and Vivian for the great videos.

Just do your thing without talking, and then edit your video with a voiceover. It feels more real when you don't have to keep talking as you're going. And you'll be able to explain things better when you're actually watching what you're doing . A little music and speed up, and you're looking for a professional! Give it a try. Find teen, they'll show how to do it. ❤
