That bed is totally brilliant, such a great idea.
It makes the van more useable, camper or a day van, I’ll use it more like this. Thanks for watching 👍
I'm really enjoying your build series. Great craftsmanship and honesty throughout.
It really does look great.
Thanks, I’m trying to do a good quality build as a reasonable cost. Using equipment used in higher end builds. Thanks for watching 👍
great video again thanks for sharing
Thank you, 👍
Lovely build. Fair play.
Thank you, 👍
Awesome work mate !
Thanks, much appreciated
Hi Really Nice job. ware did you purchase the lift from. cheers
Thanks, have a look at episode 8 of the van build, all the info about the bed is in it. 👍
Nice . Are the straps robust enough to support body weight if the bed is partly lowered (say at rear window height leaving some height underneath)?
I’m not totally sure. Maybe one person but you could maybe add a support chain on each corner and hook it on to something solid at the height you want. I’m thinking about that at the moment. Thanks for watching 👍
I'm looking at doing this conversion on my sprinter. Which way do you sleep on yours? What dimensions is your bed?
Hi I sleep from the back to the front of the van, I’m 6ft, the width is the same width as the ceiling, and the extra side pieces makes it the full with of the van at the widest part.
Hi, me again! Would you mind telling me the depth of the bench seats? i.e from the wall to the front of the seat. The proportions look good to my eye. I’m guessing the back cushions are about 100mm.
Hi, there 560mm and yes 100mm thick. Maybe 110mm with the covering and the upholsterer wrapped them in 6mm foam so there tight.
Hi. Again thanks for showing this build. I see you quoted £500 for the foam supply. Can you give some idea of the cost of the upholstery and materials used? Did GB Foam provide the covers? Thanks
I got a local upholsterer to get the material and make the covers to suit. I think he charged me £500
@@exploresandtosummitThanks. That seems a pretty good price.
@@digb1 it’s was a good price considering the mattress, seats , seat backs and the extra foam for the bed. It’s got zips and he also fitted them with 6mm foam wrapped around to make sure they was a tight fit.
I'm considering building a bed lift system in my apartment to be able to use the space better. Do you see any reasons why this would be a bad idea considering this system is primarily meant for motorhomes?
Hi, I’ve actually seen this done, I came across a photo on Google when I was researching the bed lift. It seemed to work really well. So yes good idea to make use of space.
@@exploresandtosummit thanks for that! Now just trying to find somewhere to buy it, so far only finding the UK shop you listed but the import tax into Europe is painful.
Lippit is a Italian company so I’m sure there all over Europe, maybe send them a email asking for the distributor in your country. Just out of interest, where are you?
@@exploresandtosummit Sweden :) They seem to direct to use a distributor called Reimo, which is indeed all over Europe but don't sell directly to customers in Sweden. So I will have to call a local reseller and ask if they can order it. I doubt the price will be any good though after reimo and local reseller...
Hi, I’m doing the exact same layout in my Crafter LWB, I got my electric bed from manufacturer in Shanghai, it’s the same as the one you have but I also managed to get the bed frame, the cable tidy is designed to drop down in the channel so then folds up below bed when raised. Can I ask what depth and height seats you went for as it looks ideal?
Hi, Have you a link to the bed mechanism, as I'm also looking to purchase.. Thanks in advance..

Hi, there a few different types I went for the project 2000 because all parts are available if anything goes wrong! I decided to make my own frame so it matched the rest of the van, I think I would go for the aluminium one next time though, the seat is 450 high and used 100mm foam.
I sat in a seating position and just measured myself to get the dimensions. Thanks your watching 👍
@@darranmorrison2176 the one I got is from Camper Interiors website, it’s called project 2000
