I have been a working photographer for 19yrs and this is one of the best instructional videos I have ever seen let alone one of the best pieces of education regarding photography out there.
Oh my, thank you Jared! We are so thrilled you liked it and really appreciate you taking the time to share your impressions with us. The pressure is on for our next video hehe. Happy new year!
@@The_Raw_Society Same for me. I totally agree with Jared. It's really great to have summarized so efficiently so essentials but complex concepts. It's really amazing; for sure I will follow you.

You guys explain everything in a way its so simple and easy to understand u are great mentors 🙏😌 Thank you so much for this free course this is truly a treasure for years to come 🙏❤️ i look forward for more from RAW society in the future 😊
Thank you Fathmath for watching and we are really glad you enjoyed the course! We’ll be doing more soon, just been a little busy lately with publishing our very first annual magazine :)
As a total beginner scourering the interenet for reliable inspiring and useful content about travel photography, stumbling upon this was like finding gold. Thank you!
Great video. Anyone interested in taking a photo workshop in some exotic/historic location? Save your money and watch this video. Most of the photo workshops are extremely expensive and you are just basically given a walking tour of the city you are visiting by the people offering the workshop. They will spend a minimal amount of time with you during the day and maybe a couple of hours in the evening reviewing everyones photos. They make loads of cash which finances their own trip. You will learn less than what you see on this video.
You’re spot on about using a light camera to be less imposing. I went to Marrakech with a DSLR in 2014 and many locals were on guard and resistant to my photographing them. I now travel with a small mirrorless and a notebook.
There is something about putting a camera up to your eye that makes people uncomfortable. That said, I like my DSLR, so I just use a 50mm for personal and travel work.
I like your channel. You have cerebral content and your calm delivery is a tonic compared to those who speak in UA-cam cliches or try and fail to be funny.
This is packed with great street photography wisdom and philosophy, beautiful images, and great videography that will make anyone want to go right out and shoot in the streets, if not book a trip to Marrakech!
This is one of the finest tutorial for Travel and Street photography available online and it's free! Outstanding work and a Big Thank You to The Raw Society... What a video! Congratulations on a great production. So real, sincere and very informative. I shot professionally for over 20 years and have given my cameras a rest for the past few years but I'm now getting back into it. This video has provided inspiration in spades! Thank you!
I absolutely loved this format! An honest, respectful, insightful documentary style, with so much valuable information and tips along the way. Guys I can tell for sure that this is the best photography video that I've seen on UA-cam, and you bet I've seen A LOT of stuff in the last 4/5 years. It's formative and deep, it's emotional, it's well exposed, I totally love your channel, your philosophy and your photography ❤

This is such a wonderful treat to all of us who are new to Street Photography. I absolutely love what you guys have put out this online course for free. A lot of valuable information for everyone to learn. I love how color theory was explained along with beautiful images. ❤ Thank you and thank you. Hope to see more of your video with this kind of information in the future. Your images are very inspiring and lovely.
I'm halfway through this video and want to say that it's wonderful to see such rich and educational content available on this platform, completely free for anyone to view. I'm amazed that this channel doesn't have way more subscribers than it already does. I love the photography you two are sharing, I love the pacing of the video, and I love the clarity you both give when explaining your thoughts. I'm going back to enjoy the rest of the video now, thank you both so much...
This was so incredibly beautiful and Marrakesh is truly such a special place to be and take photos at! Thank you for taking us with you on this wonderful journey thank you for sharing all your knowledge and thank you for these stunning images! The best photo course I’ve seen so far and I will highly recommended you!
This is one of the best photography videos ever made in my opinion! I've watched 3 times already in different moments of my life, and everytime I watch I absorve a little bit more of the message that is being explained. Thank you so much for this, I understand this format of video is heavly time consuming and I appreciate what you are doing for the community I'd love to see more composition/pov videos from you as well as more on your view of photography
Thank you for creating this video! It’s so insightful and wonderfully presented especially for people like me who are just getting started with street photography. Looking forward to watching more content from you guys. Thank you!
I really enjoyed watching this. Well thought out and executed covering all the essentials of travel and street photography. I visited Marrakech with my camera for the first time this year and it's very different here doing street photography to other places. Building the relationships are essential to getting good pictures. Some great advice also on sequencing the photos and putting them together to tell a meaningful and joined up story. I've yet to do my book on Morocco, but it will be better for watching this, I'm sure. :-)
I found this video without knowing your channel and your work. I have to say that this is one of the best and most exciting course I enjoyed. And, thanks for this, it’s free. It’s so great to feel your passion and learn a lot about what I am passionate for. Thanks a lot and hope to see many others vids ands pics.
So glad I found your channel! I'm a hobbyist just starting my photographic journey and even though I'm not doing street photography, this course really spoke to me. Rather then just technical learning, it made me think about photography, and the technicalities of photography, in new ways. I really appreciated the segment about finding your own style/voice. As you say it should be about the world first, not about the photographer. You put my feeling about this topic into words and I feel strenghtened to not chase answers to what MY voice is or what I want to say, just for the sake of it. I'll listen for what the world, and photography has to say instead and se where it leads! Cheers guys!
Just Wow and just thank you. This is by far the best master class on photojournalism with great educational content. I've been doing photography for 10 years and I learned a lot. Thank you for this nugget
This is definitely one of my favorite videos about photography that also shares a ton of free knowledge! The hosts are very calm and have great way of explaining, the pictures taken are wonderful and the whole video really took me with them! I hope one day I will meet you on one of your workshops! Keep up the amazing work!
I discovered your work today and I loved it. I was super excited to do a workshop in Morocco, but 3600€/person? My god, i'm crying inside, im broke! But I love your work congratulations here on UA-cam and photography well done
Thanks Daniel glad you liked the UA-cam course. I know that the workshops are not for everyone’s pockets, but everything is included and what you get out of it is really worth it ;) that said, you might want to join our membership, there are a lot of benefits (including a 10% discount on workshops should you decide to come at some point in the future) you can find all the info here: www.therawsociety.org/membership/
I actually enjoyed watching this video, I’ll definitely learn a lot from you guys and please don’t stop doing what you’re cause you’re inspiring me and a lot of people who want to do street photography ❤️
Good easy going explanation that touches the essence of photography . It was nice to see many familiar corners of Marrakesh , even the Coffe shops you were sitting.
I really appreciate all the work you did in creating this video! Thank you very much! You are so kind and generous to share this to everyone willing to learn and appreciate the beauty of photography and the creative process! I wish you every success in all your endeavors!
I started shooting in abandoned graffiti filled warehouses and got used to shots without people in them. When I started Street shooting I began to gradually take shots with passers-by at a distance so that I'm not confronting people face-to-face or making it obvious that they are in the image. Shooting wildlife we get used to taking a burst of shots and picking the best one. I think applying that to Street shooting can be an advantage also. It will make you more likely to get that perfect frame as certain elements in the image are moving through it. Great video and thanks for the inspiration!
Fantastic video! Thanks a lot for your suggestions, experience, and feeling. I will share this video with a lot of friends for sure. And Marrakech "La Rouge" is always amazing....
Hello dear Jamal! We were going to send it to you, so glad you were able to watch it and that you enjoyed it :) it means a lot to us 🙏🏼 Hope to see you again soon
Thank you for this outstanding film! Extremely insightful videos like yours, with this sort of depth, are rare in this genre of photography on YT. Kudos!
Awww thank you Carmine! We'll do our best to keep it up ;) Would love to hear what kind of you find is lacking on YT. We have some ideas but it's always good to hear from our viewers :)
@@The_Raw_Society As a YT creator for several years myself, I have struggled with sticking to my gut and just producing videos that I like to create, and that I personally see lacking on YT. This, versus catering to the large majority of tech junkies who prefer to see the latest review of cameras and lenses. As you're well aware, YT is big business and the algorithm caters to those sorts of gear videos. I think you've got it right. Teaching others about the finer points of the craft and sharing your experiences is the way to go. Anything along those lines will help your channel to build the personality that will be unique to you. Keep up the great work!
This is, in my opinion, the best film about photography as storytelling on youtube in 2021. Thank You! I wish you a happy New Year. 1.1.2022 is a great day for quitting the smoke 😉😉
We are so honoured you think so Arvid! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your comments. And you are absolutely right, 2022 is a good time to stop smoking 😂🙈 Hope you have an excellent start to the new year!
Thank you so much for this. You guys totally understood the meaning of sharing skills. I loved it! would love to sit down with you guys and talking tones of hours about photography, composition, storytelling etc :)

Super interesting and highly appreciated! :) You have great philosophy about photography and hope it will reach and educated more young people that are into photography! Thank you!
This is a beautifully shot documentary and photography MasterClass ~ so much to be learned, so much to see. I can’t wait to experience Morocco myself. It has a great energy and looks wonderful. I loved the relationship building with the young musicians and the intimate photos that come from that friendship. Congrats on such an enlightening video packed full with your photography wisdom and insights set against that beautiful Marrakesh backdrop.
Thank you so much for this course. I wasn't expecting to find all these informations. I like your approach and the respect you have for the people. If you come to Cambodia, let me know.
Where to start... What a great video and course! I recognized a lot. The stories about the culture and how to approach people before taking pictures, but also these places and scenes. That's because I've been to Marrakech several times on a photo trip since 2014, together with fellow photographers or on my own. It's one of my favorite cities and I even lived there for a couple of months in 2018 to do some voluntary work. Now I've seen this, I can't wait to get back. I hope it will be possible this year. But first I will go through my pictures of Marrakech. Again! Thnx! A lot! For this stunning video!
Thank you for taking the tame to share your experience my friend! Marrakesh and Morocco itself it's a special place indeed. I hope you can go back full of new ideas!
Oh my god, it's one of the best video that I w watched on my short experience like a photographer, and I can't believe that it's totally free, thanks so much for the information, for the instructions and for very great job. MUCHAS GRACIAS 🙌
Thank you both for this video. I got so much out of the information you gave. Your work is inspiring. I love your channel. Please stay safe and keep going! Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I agree with all the positive comments made by your viewers. I have liked and subscribed and can't wait for more of your delightful films. Happy New Year, Keep up the good work and many many thanks.xx
Thanks for the course. It was very well done, clear and concise with useful advice. I may be going to Marrakesh in March 2022 for 5 day visit (unless C19 ruins our plans) and Im very much looking forward to photographing the city and its people.
You are very welcome Hlynur and thanks for watching. How exciting that you will be going to Marrakech, it's such a wonderful place and we sincerely hope that you are able to make it!
Thank you for sharing with us this awesome video! Well made, fantastic content and so inspiring... Would love to see something similar about doing street photography at home town. I find it normally much more difficult to say something with my photos taken where I live than when I‘m traveling... Thank you once again!

Fantastic video! Thanks a lot for your suggestions, experience, and feeling. I will share this video with a lot of friends for sure. And Marrakech "La Rouge" is always amazing....
Thank you very much Rodolfo!! Much appreciate it!
Hello from Marrakech again!!!
This is Jamal!
I have watched all of the video, and it’s very amazing I love it 😍
Thank you for The effort! ❤️
@@CarmineGroe thanks for sharing your thoughts Carmine, we really appreciate it and will do out best to keep things interesting ;)

@@The_Raw_Society I checked your website, it really speaks to me. I'll soon become a member... And hopefully we can chat one of these days.
I started out traveling and taking pivs when I was 18, now i'm 23 trying to make a business from it. I am very excited with how much im learning.
Thant's great my friend! wish you luck and success, thanks for watching!

Thank you for sharing with us this awesome video! Well made, fantastic content and so inspiring... Would love to see something similar about doing street photography at home town. I find it normally much more difficult to say something with my photos taken where I live than when I‘m traveling... Thank you once again!
Thank you Jörg! Actually we are working in an episode about Inspiration and finding projects in your own city or small town so stay tuned! :)
@@The_Raw_Society 👏👏👏 That would be great! Will definitely stay tuned (actually, I’ve subscribed to your channel already 😉).
