You were blessed to be able to work this site directly behind Jeremy’s home. How generous of him and then to use his tractor to help. What a nice guy! The soil looks so easy to dig in too. This reminds me of when I was young...playing in the dirt with my brothers down by the creek. Wish I knew then what I know now. I would have had many more points and blades/tools than I do now. Great video guys and such lovely glamor shots Randy ! Also, thanks to the Indians from this area for leaving us their wonderful, hand-made works of art. 👏👏👏☺️👏👏👏
Outstanding site! So that what a complete blade looks like. Lol. Loved every single find and happy to watch such a crew of gentlemen enjoying themselves to the fullest. God bless and keep em coming!
WOW!! I'm only half way through this video, and I would be extremely happy with the finds so far! Can't wait to see what else y'all come up with for the second half!
Thanks! The large shovel with the serrations has been modified by Randy. He put the serrations in it to cut through the roots with and it works like a charm.
Holy cow y'all covered the gambit in this video. Just amazing how so many blessings can come in one day. To be able to dig such historical items with great friends... I think I enjoy seeing the fellowship as much as the points. Well done gentleman, well done.
Man, how do you pic a favorite out of this one? Have to say, that pencil-drill was incredible, and that Ponchartrain at 27:50 just for the gorgeous flaking and how the color shaded; don't you know that the maker of that one admired it afterwards, over and over? :) They knew a beautiful thing when they saw it, same as us. *Amazing* day! Some absolutely beautiful source material for those points, too-- was that local, all those reds and creams and yellows? Gorgeous stuff! I had no idea Louisiana had flint/chert that pretty-- I'd knap that stuff and enjoy it. Loved that cute frog y'all were giving a shower, too.
Thanks for the great comment! One of the best qualities of gravel chert is it's color variations. It is a local chert. It's just river rock but it's about all they had to work with locally. The little toad is unusual. He doesn't look like the toads we normally see in this area.
Well you know it’s going to be a good site if you are finding both young and old points there.... Excellent video y’all have really done well this year... congratulations on all the finds and all of your new Subscriptions!👍🇺🇸

Yeah that place is a tough act to follow. It must have been a highly occupied site over several thousand years to have that much variety. What I wouldn't give for your soil down there compared to our tough stuff. Nice video and great to see everyone together.
Nice points. My guess is paleo layer should be 4 to 8 feet deeper there due to the transitional deposits. They need to get a backhoe in there and make a 10x10 hole to check could be some sweet clovis there.
Thanks for the info! He has about an eight foot deep trench cut just a few feet to the north of where we were digging. So far nothing out of it that deep. It may show some promise later on.
In areas with cold nights a trick was to put stones in the fire - heat them up good , cover with soil then make your bed on top of that spot - keep you warm a long time on a cold night.
I'm wonderin where Mike and zach got those shovels or did they cut some regular ones down jus for shavin the walls of their holes..just curious..thanks and good luck and happy huntin to ya brothers
as always great finds and vid thanks, question for you ,with all the different ages do they come from different layers in the soil.some seem real shallow.thanks
Thanks and thanks for the great question. We haven't dug on a site yet with soil that has been undisturbed. So the answer is yes and no. They come from different layers but it's all mixed up at times. Logging and land clearing by dozers pushing up tree stumps has jumbled a lot of the soil. We have found Paleo transitional points in the same layer as Mississippian points.

We look for high level ground just out of the flood plain and close to a water source. The hard part is the permission. Many people are reluctant these days for legal reasons.

I hear you guys mention cortex when examining an artifact and I’m just not understanding what you mean when you use the word. Can you explain?
