I’ve come back to this video and rewatched when yall pulled that Pontchartrain several times now. Yalls excitement is contagious and hypes me up to get out there and hunt!
As much of a music head i consider myself to be.... You guys always have artist that i have never heard of. I know i comment on it often but... I really dig the intro song "Trouble" Gr8 to see the gang back together 💯🔥🤘✌️🫶
I'm a bit of a music head myself. We have a subscription with Music Bed and they have a huge selection some of the best music I've ever heard. Still I have been known to spend more time selecting music than editing video lol. Spike
Another great video to watch. Matthew was on 🔥. And I beg to differ about the sardines 🤮 Keep up the great work. And I might add that the addition to the drone is awesome. That intro was 😍
Thanks man! We appreciate the compliment. We're always trying to improve in some way. I can't believe you and Randy don't like mustard sardines! I guess my taste is a little more refined lol.
Spike, I have so much fun watching y all! What a fun crew! Great points!!! Chicken of the Sea brand? In mustard sause. Gold! Good luck you guys! I love your show!!! Rk
Yep 👍, awesome video. And sometimes that’s the way it is , congrats to Matthew , rest of y’all will undoubtedly work a little harder, and you won’t even realize it , great video fellas . Thanks for sharing
Yep Pontchartrain is one fine point! Spike, you tell Randy that there must be something wrong with me too! I would starve to death if I had to eat that!🤣 nice editing, too BTW🏆
Bygully fellers. Holy smokers. You sure hit the jackpot. We can't get a sprinkle up in Northeast Missouri. Rando buddy, hope you're doing better. Way to go guys. You make an ol rock hound jealous. Great video
Congrats........ Matthew 😆. He had a killer day. Great video with great content. Don't worry Spike and Randy, you guys have a great point coming. Keep at it and keep bringing those videos. 🤘🏼
Onlyest thang wrong wid “mustardine” is tastin it the rest of the day ! Specially at 100 degrees outside ! That stuff jus get down there an boils an gasifying. Heck of a day for Matthew ! Congratulations. Thanks for the video, guys. Enjoyed it.
@HeartbreakerRelics yes. I definitely noticed. I have been wanting to say something, but I kept forgetting to. The old version of pd 365 (a couple weeks ago) had an easy way to do fade in and fade outs. However with the new update they took it away , so now it takes a few more steps to it. If u have pd365 I would not do the update if I were you. It also took away all my preset characters.
I found the twin to that Pontchartrain (which I thought was an Adena) in the field behind my house in Harley Ontario Canada. Mine appears to be Fort Payne chert as well. Goes to show the trade network natives had. That’s 1400 miles from source! And subsequently I was eating a can of mustard sardines when I spotted it😂
Danged ole Matty!!! That boys killing it. But if I was able to hunt every day, I could find a bunch too!! 🤣. I’m just glad some of the folks in our posse has a chance to go these days!! I’m hooping and hollering right along with y’all while watching!! Miss y’all guys!! Great vid Spike…..was great seeing you and Rando in yalls element!!
Was this before Randy’s surgery? Not that it’s any of my business!!! I do miss you young men wink wink… fabulous points Matthew. I would buy a piece of that pet wood from ya’ll it’s beautiful!!!
Considering the material and size of the point I wouldn't classify that as a Pontchartrain. I think it's a Little Bear Creek. A point type that is associated with the same area as the Fort Payne Chert. An amazing find for sure!
Classic Ptrain. Made here with traded material most likely. We do find Little Bear Creek points down here made from our local cherts as well, LBC points typically have a longer stem and straight base. This has the typical short, rounded Ptrain base and has a slight median ridge on one side….also indicative of Ptrain.
Also, Pontchartrain points are probably our largest points found on average down here and are classified as medium to large points. I have quite a few in excess of 3 inches and a couple that are 4.
Looks like the Matthew Sullivan show to me! When are you going to change ya' lls channels name to the Matthew show LOL 😆. What I love about your videos is how real ya'll are. It's good stuff my friends👍
Another great video and thank you for taking us along with y'all. Just wanted to say thank you for the respect you show towards the artifacts. Take care and have a blessed evening. ❤️🦉 Blessings, Teresa 🦉
You guys got to start putting more banter in your videos! It was great and make a guy feel like he’s right there with ya…which I wish I was …cause I ain’t seen diddly in a couple months
We wish you were here too Ben. We've been wanting more of the banter in the videos because it goes on all day long but it's spontaneous and when someone gets a camera it has a tendency to drop off. Fortunately Matthew heard Randy and myself this time and had his camera on unbeknownst to us. We have said we need a full-time camera man. lol Seriously, we're trying to get more of it though. Thanks for stopping by my friend and I hope your luck picks up.
All kinds of cool stuff coming out this trip, but that Fort Payne piece was SICK!!! What a great artifact! Thanks for bringing us the quality finds every episode!
Our pleasure but as you know, it's not easy find enough quality artifacts to make a good video, especially in one trip. The struggle is real lol. Take care and good luck.
Another fine hunt without me, and Spike and Randy once again SKUNKED! But you've passed your skills along to a fine pair of diggers, Chris and Matt. Glad they've joined the hunts, though I miss Kenneth and Chance.
You boys are a hoot ❣️ What a great day for Matthew!!! Loved seeing all the pet wood and the NEHI bottle was cool!!! Always looking forward to seeing more videos!!! 🙏🏼
When you are considering fresh break vs old break, what are you looking at on the point. In a future video, if the opportunity is there, can you show an example of an old break vs a fresh break. I’m new and still learning all this:)
Thanks for the suggestion. We will try to remember to address this in a future video. Two of the things we look for is a difference in the patina of the break and the rest of the point. Also we look for weathering or wear of the edges of the break. A fresh break tends to have sharp edges as apposed to an old break that has worn down on the edges.
@@HeartbreakerRelics Thank you:)) I will keep those things in mind when looking at broken points. I pretty much only field hunt so things are mostly broken
Spike my friend looks like it's the Matthew Sullivan show the only person luckier than him is mark Jones just my thoughts both could find artifacts in Walmart parking lot great video love ❤️ you all😊
It was "THE Matthew Sullivan Show" and yesterday was pretty much the same thing. He and Mark are lucky but a lot of Matthew's luck comes from the amount of material he is able to move. He is a machine, I'm telling you! My machine days are long gone lol. Love you man!
It all depends on what someone is willing to pay but in all honesty, not as much as you would think. Overstreet lists them in this condition at around $100.
You guys are awesome Real awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much!
Those were some nice artifacts
Thanks.
Matthew had the luck of the river on his side. Great job
Yes he did. Thanks for stopping by.
Wow, exquisite, beautiful !!! Congratulations Matthew ❤

Good times brothers. Some nice finds. That petrified wood is outstanding 👍🇺🇸
Thanks! We could really do a whole video on the P-wood we find and it would be very interesting. Always good to hear from you.
@@HeartbreakerRelics I think you should do a vid on the petrified wood. I think it would be a hit.👍🇺🇸

Yes, this was just before his surgery. He has since had the surgery and the hand is healing well so far. I give you a few pieces if you're close by.
Considering the material and size of the point I wouldn't classify that as a Pontchartrain. I think it's a Little Bear Creek. A point type that is associated with the same area as the Fort Payne Chert. An amazing find for sure!
