This actually works very well. I used it every year. Works best if you put on right after cutting your lawn and bagging the cluppings first. Then add a little dawn dish detergent to the new bottle as a surfactant. Shake it well then soray over your lawn. Its advisable to apply a 2nd application in 3 to 3 weeks to kill the new weeds that would have germinated. Then you would be set to get the majority of the average weeds for that particular season. All of this can also be verified from other youtube reviews of the product. My yard is the nicest on the street
How much dawn do I use for that side bottle?
Love it quick and easy instructions!!
very clear instructions!! Thank you!
thank you it was terrific thanks again
Question how many times should I apply it ? Or how long should I wait for the secondary application
Just finished using it on my lawn. A little under half an acre and still half about a 1/4 left. Hopefully it works! 🤞🏼
Did it work?
I bout the stuff without the crabgrass killer good deal at like $7-$8 bucks...
I think he means open and close the valve when he says push the switch unless there is a electric battery in there someplace
Great video! How long till I can water the lawn after application?
3 days
Wish I saw this video first. I did just like you demonstrated but a week later I forgot to pull the pin out first and broke off the lever. It had half left but I don't know if it concentrated weed stop inside or just water. Would be nice to know. I did get it to work by turn the left over piece on the left as it had something to grab.
If I use this to spot treat weeds in a flower bed, how long should I wait until it’s safe to plant new flowers?
Not sure, but if you're just spot treating, might be more effective and safe to just hand pull?
Can I refill this 32 oz spray bottle with Spectracide Concentrate (from 40 oz bottle)? How many ounces (of the concentrate) to make up this bottle? I was thinking 6 oz concentrate then add 26 oz water. Am I right?
If it's refillable then there would be no ratio of water to concentrate. The whole bottle is concentrate and the mixing happens when you turn on your hose. So just fill the bottle up and resume spraying.
On the Spectracide Weed Stop For Lawns Plus Crabgrass Killer (Concentrate)...how much should I use per gallon...for tank spraying. Thanks...
I used 3 ounces at first with no results. I just sparyed using 5 ounces per gallon and will see tomorrow if it worked. So far, not impresed with Spectracide.
Are use the whole bottle sprayed it much more for one area than showed in this video. I even sprayed the weeds directly and focused on them more and now 24 hours later and there is no difference on the weeds.
Does the presentation come sealed? Ive recieved my Weedstop but its leaked out, im afraid it could have been previously used.
How do I know when to stop or when the bottle is empty?
Put my sprayer on and the water never mixed with the product.
How long to seed after using this product
If you have active growing weeds then is no the right time to aver seed.
Do you have to water your lawn after applying??? Thanks
Nooo don’t do that u need to wait 48 hours
This doesn't need to be watered in; it works by coating the surface area of the plant (leaves, stems, seed heads, flowers, etc.), so the bigger and healthier the weed is, the better the product will work. Also, apply it when there's no rain in the forecast for 24-48 hours and the temperature during the day is going to be 80+ - these conditions are perfect for uptake into most targeted weed plants as they thrive in heat, increasing uptake to compensate for lack of water in dry spells + heat stress scenarios. This is why when our lawns go into dormancy, the weeds still grow, grow, grow away! And back on point; if you watered this product in, you'd just be washing it off the leaves and plant bodies, down to the soil, where it would have minimal effect. If this were a pre-emergent however, that would be when you'd want to water it in; getting the pre-emergent down to the soil allows the product to create the barrier that prevents germination of weed seed to begin with.
I found this video after I broke the switch on top ..
Does the level of liquid in the bottle lower as you apply it to the lawn?
I just sprayed about 4000 SW ft and the level is still at about 30 oz.
Some of the product dripped onto my hand while applying. It is brown and smells like dead fish. When I smell the water coming out of the nozzle, it just smells like water.
same happens with me.
I shake it up and down a bit while I’m spraying and my levels went down a bit.
@@ericcoe1760 I called and they sent me a new nozzle.
I followed the instructions Nd the weed just laughed at me , didn't do anything. I even used 2 of these bottles in an area of 1,200 sqft risking myselft to damage the lawn and nothing at all.
You didn’t soak the weeds good enough!! This stuff works great!!
@@slowjamcdub i soaked them so much that it killed the grass, the weed seemed that it was turning yellow but the weed survived and the grass died
Need help chemical wont mix to water when spraying.
Happening over here too. Did you get it to work for you and if so how
Forget to mention to watch the hands.
Can you refill it
@The Glamourous One Wow, that was unnecessary.
To answer the question, though: I don't see why not. You should be able to use the bottle and sprayer a few times with whatever liquid you would like to spray. I'm sure its fairly cheaply made since it is meant for a single use, but I imagine it would last for a few different bottle-fulls.
Yes
Yes you can refill.
Mine stopped spraying and the bottle is still almost full
Sorry for such a long delay... Hopefully you resolved your problem...my guess is the pickup tube inside the bottle came loose/disconnected...if you can open the bottle you could check...needle nose pliers and some latex gloves and you may be able to re-attach it...
This stuff works ok for broadleaf weeds but it does nothing for full grown crabgrass, even a heavy dose did absolutely nothing. Not only didn’t it kill the crabgrass but the crabgrass didn’t even look stressed at all.
Yeah, full grown crabgrass is a booger to knock out. You really got to hit it early in the season. I used this product this Spring for the first time and had really good results on the baby crabgrass. I also threw down the granular Weed Stop for Laws Plus Crabgrass Preventer, and it significantly helped reduce the amount I've seen in my lawn compared to years past. Best part about all this was the price. For what I got out of the $5 I spent for this product during Lowes' Spring Black Friday, it was well worth it. I'd use again! Of course I'm all about price! You get what you pay for and surprisingly with this one, you get more than expected.
Did the level of liquid in the container lower as you sprayed?
I've found the proper application of a surplus USMC Flamethrower works well.
This video reminds me of a video I saw once about how to pour sand out of your boots. If you have to explain how to use this product to someone it might just be a good idea for them to leave it to someone else to do the job or maybe for them you should include do not drink the left over liquid once spraying is complete. I mean if they can't figure out how to use this you just never know what they might do.
I mean I watched it because I didn't know how much to use. Nothing wrong with learning to do stuff yourself, especially in this economy, who can afford to hire every little thing out!
This stuff does not work i used a whole bottle on my small lawn and nothing and my yard is full of crabgrass smh
I can hardly believe this official video doesn't have the user wearing PPE but instead is shown spraying an herbicide with no protection. Where are your disposable plastic gloves, disposable tyvek style suite, disposable plastic booties, and safety goggles? Very irresponsible!
Please don't be afraid if you happened to lose a leg or an arm
I think most people have COMMON SENSE and do not require to be told everything.
You sound like a manly man. :)
If one does the way this guy is dong it will spray over the flower beds even without wind. Better to the same movement with the hose but lower!!! And what about the PPE??? I have done this to my bermuda grass to kill mainly henbit and id did nothing to any weed. Not even yellowishing!!! I am so fricking mad, tired to use chemicals that are very dangerous to our health and not to get any result. I am selling the house, otherwise, I would take all the grass out and plant fruits and vegetables! Who needs so much grass anyway???
Yes, very frustrating to see the clear, concise video up until the point of showing the demonstration of application being done all wrong. Also, the henbit issue is a bit tricky; it produces LOTS of seed, so control of henbit is best done in a 2-step scenario where you spray the henbit with the product in this video, or regular Spectrazide weed stop for lawns, or Ortho weed clear for lawns, among others. Spray before the flowering stage of the plant for best results. Then, twice a year work on thickening the problem areas where the henbit likes to take hold (likely damp and shaded areas), low lying under trees typically, to help strengthen and thicken the turf grasses so that the henbit will be "choked out" so to speak. This is obviously the same method used to control anything undesirable from growing in your lawn, but for the weeds that are particularly tenacious, it really takes a 2-step approach to see the best results. Just spraying and praying will typically lead to frustration.
