    This sound has been driving me nuts for weeks. I had read it could be power steering, pulleys, all sorts of things. Then I saw this video and it was the exact sound! A cheap and easy fix. I can finally drive my truck in peace

      jordan10125 Lucky u didn't spend $1000 in accidents I replaced spark plugs coils and injectors...turns it it was this a $5 dollar repair part from Napa 😭 but seems to run smooth now than ever coils and injectors were 15 years old stock was good to replace them anyway spark plugs were 5 years old this was on a 2001 Ford Expedition 5.4L Triton

    Nice. I have been chasing this same noise for months. Just found it yesterday and searched here to see of simply replacing the pcv valve was the trick or if there was a greater repair.
    Awesome. Less than $5 repair.

    Never worked on Fords before, but my fiancé’s aunt and uncle has an F150 making this exact same noise. Since I’m the only car guy they asked me to figure it out and fix it. Now I know!! Thanks!

    My friend 2001 Town Car was doing that too. I think I have a video showing the same fix. He had a lean code and could not pass emission. Ford dealer wanted $500. They said all his vacuum lines needed replacing.

    Absolutely same thing here. Suspected it was something to do with PVC when I unplugged it sound went away. Going to pick up OEM replacement.

      Mine doesn’t rattle until I take it out while running then when I install while still running it keeps rattling. When I turn off truck it stops rattling after I restart it won’t rattle, is this normal?

    Wow amazing! I have 2005 f250 triton 5.4 and it’s got a weird ticking noise. I was wondering if I email you a video? It sounds like it’s in the valve cover and I have a misfire on cylinder 5

    • @ScouserTech
      @ScouserTech  3 роки тому

      Sorry just seeing this. The ticking can happen with higher mileage cars. Did you change out your plugs and coil packs since?

    Was it throwing any codes? I'm thinking of trying to replace the PCV valve and hose on my 03. Its idling hard and im getting a p0171 code.

      You ever find the problem?

  • @aznnp77
    @aznnp77 5 років тому

    Thanks, I think I'm gonna try this. My car makes a similar noise, but it's coming from near the AC compressor and PS pump on the opposite side of the PCV valve. Is that possible? The noise is coming from the passenger side of the car, but the PCV valve is on the driver's side.

    Also, I got the same sound at 2.27 whining or hissing sound in my Hyundai i20 petrol. It goes off only when pcv hose is disconnected. And no sounds when engine running. Please help.

    Clean up that engine bay. For me personally it makes it easier to see small things when working on any vehicle

    • @ScouserTech
      @ScouserTech  8 років тому

      Was a quick flip but I agree. Western NY winters make keeping it clean very hard

    my 01 makes a buzzing noise from around that same area, but it's not nearly that loud. what all do you think it could be? I'll try that pcv next weekend. I just replaced all 8 injectors ( different reason ). But mine sounds more like an electrical noise. replacing all spark plugs and coils next weekend as well, also I have a miss fire on cylinder 2, which is the same area of the buzzing noise

      Anthony E I know my 01 5.4 liter is making this same sound and I never paid no mind to it but the other day check engine light came on and now she's throwing a couple codes. Bank one to lean and bank two to lean. Messing around with stuff ended up pulling the valve after reading that the pcv valve or hose could be plugged and be a problem I put my thumb on the pcv valve and got string suction but notice when I put it back the humming noise started again so for the small fee of 5 bucks for a new one I replaced it even if it's not my problem cheap replacement that can lengthen the life of your engine. And back to you question assuming you've fixed it since 11 months ago my cylinder two started misfiring one random day wasn't sure what the problem was but got the code read and hoped to god it was just a plug and sure enough I pulled the plug out of the cylinder and it was disgusting. I don't mess with the plugs in my 01 expy because I hate the thought of over tightening and stripping these stupid aluminum threads and popping a plug out while on the road but I replace them as they go. I know it's not smart but it does the trick and gets me rolling again.

    It's the cam phasers

    • @07swbxrunner
      @07swbxrunner 9 років тому +2

      Thomas ohman These trucks to not have variable valve timing meaning they do not have cam phasers. This is a 2V engine and not the newer and now discontinued 3V engine
