Thanks for showing this. As mentioned below, the manual is as thick as a telephone book and hardly shows any images, and is confusing, so this helps. First thing I am going to do is get rid of that annoying blank screen. I don't even know why someone would want to look at a blank screen. Chevrolet has videos about the dashboard menu, but it pretty much just shows everything without explaining anything....just like most of their videos...all show, no how-to
Thanks so much for that Glenn. Some of these new cars don't get a manual anymore either in the vehicle. Its all on a PDF. Ive got some other fun ones down the road so stay tuned.
I actually leave it on the blank page so the screen doesn’t get distracting, and looks cleaner. I know it’s silly haha but I’m probably one of the few who like it
I have actually done this more because with the speed up and changing all the time it makes it seem like something is flashing on the screen and paranoia sets in haha
At 1:12 the Fuel Economy will give you an instant read out on your fuel usage. It will teach you to drive with a lighter foot and you will surprised how much better your fuel mileage will become. The center infotainment screen is also highly customizable. Everyone would think to look in your owners manual but the very first thing it says is "If your truck is so equipped". Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's there or not. Great video!
Another cool feature to note, regarding the off road menu, is when your truck either has ABS, traction control, or stabiltrac activity engaging that screen will show which wheels are being affected by having them blink.
Yeah man you’re not kidding as I know I had it set up on my 2016 but them for the life of me could not figure out how to put it on the 2017 So I went out and spent about a half an hour and then made a video so no one else has to read the book or try to figure it out
Piss poor description in the owners manual...oh that's right...there's NO mention of this in the owners manual. Thank you, I knew what the two outer indicators were...nose up or down, and side to side tilt...but what was driving me nuts was NO info ANYWHERE regarding the center indicator, and thanks to you I now know it's steering wheel position. Had my truck three months and just now learned this, thanks for p putting me out of my misery!
I wonder if the new 2018 WT 2500 4x4 truck I"m getting will have the off road menu thing. That would honestly be really helpful when I'm loading my truck camper to know if my wheels are straight or how much they're really turned. But it will also be cool to have the degrees on where the truck is leaning so you can kind of level your truck and ultimately your truck camper while camping. But I don't know if the truck squatting due to the weight will affect that but that can just be kept in mind your back in might naturally be a couple degrees lower.
Great tutorial video bro, I have the 2WD crew cab version, 2015 allstar package, and I was able to pull up the (off road) screen and it displays all of the functions as yours, minus the 4WD capability. As an added note, driving up hill, the (Hill assent) message displays, telling me the engine and transmission shifts are being controlled by the OBC. GM really did their home work when it comes down to the Silverado and Sierra, to bad they didn't explain these features in the manual. Thanks a lot bro!!!!
Great video and apparently needed...but seriously guys....do you not go out and just push buttons on your truck to see what it can do? I trade every 3 years, read the book front to back each time, but most importantly I go out and just start punching buttons. Why buy all this tech if you don't even try to figure it out??
Thanks for the quick video. I am having trouble with mine. Mine is 2017 Colorado though, I did exactly what you did to go to that options window but I do not have the Off-Road option in that check list. Am I missing something?

The system has an advanced Computerized gyroscope technology that has Active level ride positioning sensors there is no need to recalibrate the system because it's done by the onboard computer automatically once the change in ride hight has been detected however Before installation of the new leveling kit make sure to disconnect the negative battery connection this will reset the Computer when the battery is reconnected after the installation it will force the computer to automatically remap the data and recalibrate the system

It won’t pop up and notify you but your oil life is a great indicator and it’s available on your menu as you will see at beginning of video. You will want to rest that after each oil change. Of course depending on your style of driving you can go with your mileage too. I tend to go longer than the 3500 miles as it’s Synthetic and I dont drive a whole bunch these days. Hope that helps
Mt off-road screen was turned on when I bought the truck but apparently it's broken. It shows what drive it's in (altho if it auto it does show which wheels are currently being used, if it's supposed to show that.) But Mine does not show the degree at which my wheel is turned???
My 2015 Silverado doesn't seem to have this option. I do have the one for the trailer brake which is a feature of the truck that I never use unlike my 4wd.
Freefallpilot65 yes you do lose the speeding when you put anything else in tje center display. You can always go back to the speeding but he's saying he would like to be able to see the trans temp all the time without havyto scroll to it. The older 2500's had the trans temp gauge. I like that screen. I remember in the older trucks that used to show on the floor next to the shifter and as a kid I used to love looking at it. Do you know if this screen is available in custom trim?
Sounds like a few things. Could be bad switch, or software issue cause communication issues to computer and transmission. I’d get that over to Chevy dealer to diagnose. It’s not good to be in 4wd all the time especially at highway speeds. May be good time to flush your differential after it’s fixed. Before you head in though try this: un hook the battery and leave disconnected for 15 minutes or longer, then hook back up and see if you get same results

Buck Downs Canada Normally I keep it off but it depends on the road conditions I’m under. I also turn it off sometimes at the stoplight as well as the stabil-a- track so that I can zoom off. You can 100% feel the truck though when it is off.
Apparently 2014’s didnt come with this option. But OP mentioned that it was a software update, so maybe ask your dealership if they can update your system to include the offroad mode.

TYLERXISXKOOL you are welcome. 🍻
Just checked my 2016 but there's no option for it, bummer... It has all the other options just not the 4x4 pitch & roll indicator.
I just got my 2015 Silverado back from having the transmition replaced and I can't for my world figure out how to get out of the meny and get back to the speedometer.
Help!
Vali Odin was your speedometer not selected in the menu?
Scouser Tech can’t get to speedometer where can I get help with that
It’s the display for 2014 silverado
Sadly my 2014 4x4 does not have this
+Scouser Tech your truck is a z71 isn't it?
Mine is just the regular 4x4 LT Version
I have a 18 and oh gosh thank you!!!!
When you drive do you keep the traction control on or off ?
Buck Downs Canada Normally I keep it off but it depends on the road conditions I’m under. I also turn it off sometimes at the stoplight as well as the stabil-a- track so that I can zoom off. You can 100% feel the truck though when it is off.
This is all written in the owners manual.
I have a 2014 Silverado 4x4 and doesn’t have that setting :(
Damn it. My 2016GMC Canyon 3.6L doesn't have this feature.
I have the 2014 z71 and I do not have this option in mine. Is there another way to get it?
Apparently 2014’s didnt come with this option. But OP mentioned that it was a software update, so maybe ask your dealership if they can update your system to include the offroad mode.
Unavailable on 2014 Z71 :(
Thanks man, this helps a lot, Now i dont have to rely on the little 4wd switch dial.
What is that green light on your RPM??
Jose Flores it’s for his lights
Do not have that offroad option on my 2015 ?? It does not appear, how can I fix this anyone know
How is this hidden?
Ty needed transmission temp

Robert Neal glad it helped
Hahaha 'secret hidden menu' ahahaaa. FYI The cheat code for unlimited fuel economy is up down up up down A B A too

I tried this cheat code and now my truck is stuck in V4! 😂
Lone Wolf oh now you’re fucked
Ha thats because this cheat code only worked for NES Contra Game lol
JPaupst another cheat code.....plug and unplug your front seatbelts simultaneously 101 times to unlock your engines NOS and turbos..... This cheat called "Fast N Furious"
also good for setting the toe end....LOL
Also comes on lt models
What’s so secret about something that’s clearly explained in the manual?
