  • The Lycian Way (Lykian Yolu) is a long distance trail that follows the coastline and explores the mountains between Turkey's cities of Fethiye and Antalya via Patara, Kalkan, Kas, Demre, Finike, Adrasan, Olympos, Cirali, and Tahtali. It is Turkey's first ever long distance trail and was designed by Kate Clow, a UK citizen who knows Turkey very well indeed.
Meandering through rural communities and fishing fishing villages, it shows visitors the part of Turkey that isn't seen by visitors who head for the all inclusive resorts. Walkers on the Lycian Way will experience kindness from strangers that will define their journey. Along the way, walkers will visit ancient ruins, view beautiful scenery and wild camp in exquisite locations.
Backpackers will love the Lycian Way due to it being the near perfect backpacking trail for hikers. Wild camping is legal and there are many places that are suitable to put a tent down. Many of the camp spots have a fire pit too.
Hikers will be able to enjoy stunnig sunrises and sunsets from many of the iconic camp spot locations.
This video documents our journey from Finike to Geyikbayiri.

Great trek, wonderful scenery and some tough hiking by the looks of it. Another epic adventure.

The Lycian Way was a great adventure that we did over 3 separate years Kev. We thoroughly enjoyed the journey and are proud of what we achieved together. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

Finike is a lovely place with rich history. Cant never forget my days there many years ago while I was traveling and working in Turkey. BTW, there used to be a Finike 2000 Hotel there, hope I can see it again when I revisit.

That must have been a wonderful experience to have lived and worked in Turkey. We didn't see the Finike 2000 hotel advertised anywhere. We used Booking.com and Experia and it certainly wasn't listed. Thank you for taking the time to comment on my video!

Another great episode both. As ever Dave your narration and info enroute really adds interest ti the walk. I do find myself pausing the video at ceratin points and googling stuff as my knowledge of these points of interest are non existent. The flames of Chimera, that's bonkers 2500 years its been doing that they reckon !! The mountain section looks very uneven and hard underfoot. I am guessing your trail shoes took a bashing. I love the Firepot Porcini Mushroom meal - found it quite filling. 😊 That canyon section looked wonderful. What a fabulous effort, really enjoyed this Dave and loved the ending, that would have been a fabulous thumbnail. atb Al PS Nice to see you giving Gill some speaking parts 😊

Hi Alan. Thank you so much for watching the video and making such a lovely comment. Gill has never wanted to speak on camera and at least this time I managed to capture her comments as she walked as oppose to speaking to the camera! Yes, I did consider the last image as a thumbnail but decided on the bigger scene in the end.
