the fact he easily finished the basement segment, got out of larry's pocket dimension on his first try, reached heavy containment without getting a keycard and then also doing 049's containment relatively easily aswell is pretty bonkers

Jack has the most extreme case of “luck of the Irish” that I’ve ever seen.
Ex: -getting out of 106’s pocket dimension first try
-Escaping 939s after 2nd try
-Going from no key card to level 4 from 049’s chamber
-Only encountering 173 once and not encountering 106 at all
Also, Jack I know you probably won’t see this because it’s pretty late, but you should read up on some more of the SCPs. I think you’d really enjoy it! :)

The "big dog" is actually SCP-939. SCP-939 has the ability to mimic other people's voices, to make people near them assume they are a human aswell, so that SCP-939 lure then towards it and kill the person. SCP-939 instances are also blind. So Jack's constant running was alerting the creature to where he was. Hence why he got caught.

Scp 049 is a plague doctor of the time of the bubonic plague and he claims to cure people. When "curing" you he will actually turn you into a sort of zombie (scp 049-2). These zombies are hostile towards any human

Ironically, 049 is actually rather polite. In fact, the main, if not the only, reason why he isn’t a keter class is because he is so affable. While he will try to escape if he gets the chance, once the Foundation catches him, he returns to his cell quietly, without a fight.

A brief primer on SCP object classes:
-Safe means easily contained. These can still be dangerous, but won’t actively try to do anything or escape if capable. (If you put it in a box and leave it alone, it will stay there.)
-Euclid means somewhat difficult to contain. Most SCPs qualify as this, especially ones that are capable of advanced thought. (If you put it in a box and leave it alone, it might try to escape.)
-Keter means extremely difficult to contain. A lot of these ones are dangerous and pose an immediate threat should they escape. (If you put it in a box and leave it alone, it will escape and will likely be very difficult to put back.)
-Thaumiel means it’s used to contain other SCPs. (It is the box.)
There are other classes, but they’re less common.

I watched a good portion of Markiplier's videos on this and let me tell you that you are the luckiest person lol: you escaped Radical Larry's hell void first time through knowing nothing about any of it, and you survived 173 to boot. Hats off and standing ovation my friend.

I know a bit about the SCPs and the foundation from the stories but can't handle horror games so I haven't played it, but I see a lot of people talking about the elevators as a bad thing, why?

"The Plague Doctor"
when he touches you, you die a man in a black coat with a bird mask "The Tall B***h!" If he touches you and die he experiments on you, turning you into SCP-049-2 these creatures are basically zombies
Seeing Sean just blindly run through the foundation from the moment the game starts immediately sets the tone.... that tone being high pitched screams

This HAS to be a series. You've started out pretty well, getting through 106's dimension on your first try, getting the hand to bypass 049's cell. Anyway, you're right about the tesla gate, you approach it, listen for the power up sound and back up, it'll activate and then you can run through it. Also, make a habit of blinking before opening doors because 173 can be a real prick at times.

I find the SCP concept absolutely *fascinating* but I've never had the time to get into it. I'm planning on starting to read the SCP entries, starting at 001. Is there anything I should know before I get into it?

- You can save thanks to the TV screens!
- Be Always on the move!!!
- Do NOT look at SCP 096 in the eyes
- Never blink when SCP 173 is near
- Your objective is to escape but to do that you need to complete tasks, you need to talk to the computer
- Stay away from the black spots on the floor cus Larry can spawn there and kill you, if he spawns RUN AWAY! .. or find an electric gate to make him disappear!
- Find keycards !!
- Get batteries for your night vision!
- Get a gas mask cus its gonna be important for a lot of times in the game!
- Do NOT trust ANYTHING in the game cus anything can be a SCP and can kill you
- Listen for every little sound cus it may let you know which SCP's near you!
- Get a map, fast !
- Read the notes about the SCPs! They give a lot of good infos on them!
