I got an email the day after this happened bc I’m currently a student at UCSD. The backstory is: there was a party or something of the sort and the police came and he didn’t want to get caught or written up so he went to the bathroom and jumped out as a way to escape the police. When you’re intoxicated or really trying to get away, sometimes things like this don’t fully process. It’s terrible that this had to happen to him and me and everyone in my suite send prayers to his family.
Students at my college would jump from the top of the spiral stairwells. Parents, don't insist your child have a 4.0 grade average, take 5 extracurricular activities, etc... Don't push them too hard.
@@barryliu3473 what would you call a place where 90% of the population has chinese as their first language and 90% of the population is from china. i dont need to “see” china to “know” what china is like.
@@pberPSR yeah well thats where ur wrong--although there is a super surprisingly big amount of chinese people in UCSD though lol. A student just recently fell out of a 3rd story dorm room here at my college, university of San Francisco. The new dorms they have built have no nets over the windows at all.
This happened at my university too. The week before everyone went home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a student fell (or jumped, don't know for sure which) off the fourth floor of a dorm and died.
OMG...just last night I was thinking about how a student jumped from the same dorm (I think) the day I moved on campus in fall of 1974! Then this shows up in my UA-cam feed!!!
Lmfao what Alexa said. I think it's funny how you expect everything to be at the ready sometimes it does take time not everything is a fucking conspiracy Jesus.
@@xiyinxu3907 There was a party in that room. Police arrived. He was intoxicated and tried to evade interaction with police by jumping out of the bathroom window.

Maybe he was drinking to much and loss his balance near the window or he OD out. Don't assume the a innocent person did the worst. What on earth is wrong with you??? @Lisa
18 year olds should know how to behave safely around windows no matter how high or low they might be. I won’t be surprised to hear that alcohol played a part in this tragedy. If that is the case, despite how tragic this is, the student bears all the responsibility for the outcome of all his decisions that night.
@Jake not everyone who graduates is 6 figures in debt. If you do it smart, you can make money going to college. Colleges have usually less than half of the students accepted graduate. It’s not for everyone and some ppl just aren’t smart enough to make it and others find work elsewhere. It’s not for everyone and most ppl understand that but shitty on everyone that goes is pointless. You can’t save lives if you don’t go to college. Ex doctor, social worker, mental health professional, etc. but you can be a cop or firefighter who doesn’t get paid much 🤷🏽♀️
@Christina Bonvillian Did u read storyline? No one was pushing him nor trying to murder him. He tried to avoid police and he was intoxicated so he try to climb out of window as he was unconscious and he fell by accident. I suggest u can research about it no one was in bathroom with him when that happened. His friend didn't even know until it happened. If u look at first comment a person post a backstory.
@Christina Bonvillian Story from news: Following a noise complaint, a campus officer entered the room and saw Fan go into the bathroom, the report said. A short while later, around 11:44 p.m. Friday night, witnesses saw Fan fall out of the bathroom window down to the ground below. Freshman Colin Tournat, who lives at Tioga Hall, walked out of the building seconds after Fan fell. Tournat said his friends saw the horrible incident while waiting to be let into the dorm. They immediately called 911. Tournat said he rushed over to Fan and realized he was unconscious but had a pulse. He noticed Fan had several broken bones and tried to open up his airway with the assistance of a dorm housing advisor.

But why would he jump literally 8 floors? Just to escape police? Aren’t there other students there too? Like that’s death right there
This was a close friend of mine during my younger childhood. Devastating and unbelievable
Sorry for your loss. He's in a better place now. RIP!

My freshmen year was over 10 yrs ago and our Saluditsrian from HS fell off a balcony during a party and died
Def responsibility falls unto someone, why is an 18yr old drinking? How did he get the alcohol? Smh
How tragic. Why do the windows open that far anyway?
Maybe he jumped but they don't want the bad publicity
I don't think so, bc I heard this explanation from students there the night it happened.

I guarantee you there will be a lawsuit. I saw a You Tube video showing how low those windows are. Looked pretty damn scary. Ridiculously low, even.
Even if there will be a lawsuit, he jumped on his own...the university has their own defense attorney
