- Hi! This is how you download and install a fresh/new copy of Windows 10 in 2023. With fresh copy I here mean that you completely remove everything from your current Windows-installation and the computers hard drive and install a new copy of Windows 10 on to the drive. Which is something I highly recommend doing if you have any issues that you are not able to solve with your current Windows-installation.
The guide can also be used if you built a new computer and are looking to install Windows 10 on it.
If you´re looking to install the newer Windows 11, you can find my guide for that operating system here: • How to Download and In...

The Rufus technique failed, and your video came to the rescue. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much for the comment! Odd though since Rufus is usually a quite proven way to go by it when installing/reinstalling most operating systems. Regardless, great the video helped! :-) Thx again! // Chris
@@GetThereFaster there was one process within the Rufus style that was hindering the OS frominstalling smoothly. Your style worked instantly man.

Thanks been trying to figure this out for about an hour. I was trying on a Mac but turns out installing it to the usb form the website doesn’t show up so thanks I’ll use my windows computer now
Hi! It is actually possible to use a Mac to create the Windows installation USB media. However it´s a little more fiddly. There are some guides here and there, like this one: www.makeuseof.com/create-windows-10-bootable-usb-mac-bootcamp/ that guides through the process. However if you´ve got a Windows computer available, that is definitely the easiest way to do it :-) Thank you for the comment and the thank you! // Chris
Do I absolutely have to delete all the partitions? Or can I just delete the the C and install the windows there? I also have a partitions that OEM (Reserved) Should I also delete that?
No, you don´t have to delete all the partitions. The other partitions (like the OEM ones) usually contains backup copies of the operating system in case you need to reinstall it using the computers built in restore functionality. But you can leave them if you want and just delete C :-) // Chris
good job man thanks
A ton of thx! Happy to be able to help :-) Thx again! // Chris
it worked fine and quick.

Hullo, what should I do when I get to the stage where you choose a drive to intall windows on and nothing shows up, I have an SSD if that make a differents?
Hi! During the installation only some basic drivers are loaded, and some computers can´t find certain types of hard drives without the addition of specific driver files. These can usually be found online, downloaded and then put on the same USB-stick that is used for the installation of Windows (by searching the computer model name or motherboard name). Which makes the installation find the drive like it should. My guess is that some kind of SATA-drivers are missing or perhaps that some kind of settings for enabling SATA-drives during installation needs to be changed in BIOS. A little messy to say the least. Was terrible "back in the days" and still has impacts sometimes today. // Chris
Thnx the tuto worked like a charm, but I installed win 10 pro on a lenovo slim 3 laptop and the touchpad doesnt work :$ I hope after updating drivers it ll fix
Thank you! Yeah, touchpad are some of those things that sometimes (for whatever reason) needs specific drivers to even start working. Let's hope you got it back to a functioning state. However if it's still not working, the touchpad functionality is sometimes reseted (turned off) with a fresh installation and needs to be turned back on. Either in Windows or sometimes straight on the computer via a function key on the keyboard. // Chris
@@GetThereFaster ty yeah I had to upgrade to win 11 to get it working, my sound was nt working either on win 10 pro but now its gucci after the upgrade to 11.
@@B0redneko Ah, odd though that it wouldn't work properly with Windows 10. However great you managed so solve it :-) Thank you for sharing! // Chris

This method doesn't give you the option to choose your preferred windows type? Windows home straight forward
Hi! Hm, as far as I know IF your computer's BIOS has a saved key for (in this case) Windows 10 Home, this key will be automatically applied when starting the setup process. Making any other versions unavailable to select. I however _think_ (but are not entirely sure) that you should be able to just install Windows 10 Home like normal, then once in Windows navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Change Product key. In here then input a Windows 10 Pro key after which the computer should ask to restart and then reinstall the extra features from Pro. // Chris
Does anyone else have a problem with network adaptors? It doesn't give me a option to add a network. SNMP is also missing 😢
Hi! Yeah they can be a real pain sometimes if the built in network adapter does not have support for the drivers that are included in the installation. When possible I usually just go through the installation and then download the network drivers from another computer and transfer them via USB to the one I´m working on. Sometimes though some drivers needs to be there for the installation to continue, at which point at least my only go-to solution is to get the network adapter info and then try and find drivers online and put together with the installation USB :-/ // Chris
When window says it needs to reset to continue it just goes Back to the first step
Hi! It sounds like the computer keeps restarting from the USB-stick upon every boot. Try and remove the USB, restart the computer and see if it continues then (all the files necessary for the installation should have been copied to the hard drive at this point, so the USB should no longer be needed). // Chris
Hello. Can i install windows 10 using flash drive 2GB?
Hi! Unfortunately not, it requires an 8 GB USB-stick minimum to be able to install. // Chris
Hey , I actually need help, while on the collecting information process, it's saying i should look for a media drive, wat does this mean
Hi! Hm, this could be because of a few different reasons. My most common one that I´ve encountered is that I have been inserting the USB-stick into a USB 3-port when the motherboard and Windows-installation did not managed to use those ports before actually installing the whole operating system and USB 3.0 drivers. So, my first thing to try would be to try a different USB-port that is not USB 3.0 (usually have a blue middle connection to them) and see if that does anything different. If that is not the case there might need to be some BIOS-setting changed to make the computer correctly find the hard drive and USB during the installation. Are you using a laptop or a stationary computer? Any model name etc.? // Chris
@@GetThereFaster I'm using a laptop actually
I really don't understand the part where it says the device drivers were not found, wat does that mean
@@aijeyaldridge Do you have a model number for the laptop? It usually, basically means that the computer can´t find the hard drive to install Windows on. Because during the installation only some basic drivers are loaded, and some computers can´t find certain types of hard drives without the addition of specific driver files. These can then usually be found online, downloaded and then put on the same USB-stick that is used for the installation of Windows. Which makes the installation find the drive like it should. Super messy and used to be a real pain 15 years ago. However it still does happen sometimes, depending on age of the computer etc. // Chris
nice teach
Thank you so much! :-) // Chris
it just downloads in my SSD when i connect my usb, can anyone help me???
Hi! Can you be a bit more specific to what happens and I can definitely try to help! When in the guide does this happen? // Chris
What if it keep saying you need 8GB of free disk space
Hi! If you mean for the USB-stick an 8GB stick should be fine enough for hosting the installation files. When do you get this message? // Chris
It doesnt show any drivers for me even usb doesnt dhow
Hi! Sorry to hear it´s not working. Sometimes, and depending on motherboard and driver support etc., it can be a little tricky to get the hardware recognized by the installation. I usually try and use the program Rufus to create the installation media when Microsofts one fails to work (guide here: www.windowscentral.com/how-create-windows-10-usb-bootable-media-uefi-support ). You can also do a search for your specific computer or the name of the motherboard along with Windows 10 installation to see if any good tips or tricks shows up there. Hope you´re able to solve it somehow! // Chris
Why does my computer says media driver not detected after i used this method.
Hi! In my experience this can sometimes happen if the downloaded file has, for whatever reason, got corrupted. In that case, I´d try and re-do the whole download process and create the installation USB-stick again. Otherwise I would guess (but are not sure) that it can have something to do with a BIOS-setting in how the computer reads hard drives. Try looking for any option in the advanced or Storage section that says something with "SATA Configuration" or similar and try enabling that to see if it makes any difference. Hope you´re able to sort it out! // Chris
Still did not work for me😢
@@nathanielnicomedez7437 Super sorry to hear that :-/ Unsure exactly what could be causing it. What computer is it you´re using? A pre-built model (laptop etc.) or an own build? // Chris
@@GetThereFasterI'm using a very old studio XPS 8100 because I found it on my house and decided to make something out of it.
@@nathanielnicomedez7437 Hm, there might be some issues then with the installation USB that the Toolkit creates. You could try using another program to create the installation USB (like Rufus: rufus.ie/en/ ). You first need to use the microsoft installer, but instead of picking to install on a USB, you pick to download an .ISO-file. When it´s downloaded you then start Rufus and select it using the "SELECT" button and then create your USB basically like with Microsofts tool. Worth a shot at least. // Chris
