To reboot everything with a fresh usb install since it’s fasterI have plenty of USB devices laying around. Making an iso file is a little more complicated so I think this is the smarter choice for me and anyone else looking for something not complicated at all! Thanks so much for your help brother!

It freezes at various points in time - either on BIOS screen, or right after selecting keyboard/language, or at Setup is starting screen or right after selecting the drive. Out of like 150 restarts, I was only able to get to installation screen 3 times. Once it got stuck at Copying Files 31%, once at Preparing files 8% and once at Copying Files 0%. I have never had problems like this before and I dunno what the problem might be.

Time taken to install varies depending on, CPU speed, RAM and HDD write speed. Just give it a little time and you'll see it. Minimum specs for win 10: 4GB Ram Core 2 Quad Q6600 (others will work, but are considerably slower.) That's all pretty much, now you just have to wait.

Alec, ha ha, that is what I am doing tonight with my old laptop. I haven't touched it since October 2019. It crashed and I never could get it running again. Today I bought a new copy of WIN 10 and it is being installed right now and this video helped. I didn't want to spent $500 to $1000 or more on another laptop so buying WIN 10 is the cheap route and it works. I am doing a 100% clean install.

Remove the USB installer. Its taking you on a loop because your USB drive is the 1st boot device. After you unplug the USB drive, set the drive you installed Windows to as the 1st boot device.

Pro tip- make sure to set bios bootup to your hard drive so it can boot up when it restarts, also unplug usb as soon as it says its gonna restart when installing windows!!!

Miguel, thanks for the instructional video. The problems I encountered earlier today happened @ 4:00 with the partitions. My old HD has four partitions and I wasn't sure what to do. I bought a new WIN 10 and it stopped at this point, so I deleted all four partitions. After I deleted all four partitions, the installation of my new WIN 10 is now getting installed. Thanks big time!

I guess you missed a point to share when the Flash drive is to be removed from the Laptop / Computer. Because of that the whole process started from step 1 when the system restarted. I faced that problem but eventually removed the Flash Drive and had the smooth flow again to take me to my desktop. Depending on your hardware it may take longer to finish up. At first I thought my was stuck on the get ready screen. However I just let it be and it finished the install just find.

Always take a system image backup into a usb drive or something. No need to download whole windows 10 and then install.

Miguel, thanks for the instructional video. The problems I encountered earlier today happened @ 4:00 with the partitions. My old HD has four partitions and I wasn't sure what to do. I bought a new WIN 10 and it stopped at this point, so I deleted all four partitions. After I deleted all four partitions, the installation of my new WIN 10 is now getting installed. Thanks big time!
Did it delete all your files. Were you able to recover all your files

Hi Miguel, wanted to thank you for this wonderful descriptive step by step tutorial. I tried doing it on my Win 7 Ultimate OS and it worked just smoothly as shown in the video. Keep doing the great help. It means a lot to many of the computer users around the world including me. Just a small flaw to point out. I guess you missed a point to share when the Flash drive is to be removed from the Laptop / Computer. Because of that the whole process started from step 1 when the system restarted. I faced that problem but eventually removed the Flash Drive and had the smooth flow again to take me to my desktop. And also in the end if you could have shared to change the Boot options back to default. Rest was awesome. Thanks again, Cheers. Jairaj Shah (India)

what happens if i choose Upgrade instead of Custom?
It will just upgrade the windows version on the pc you're doing it on

+t7ote It will, but if you are upgrading from genuine copy of Windows, then you just skip both of activation boxes, and your Windows 10 will be activated automatically after instalation.
I click the unallocated drive and when I hit next it just says that I can’t install windows on this drive 0x30200002 and 0x30200001 error
