Love, LOVE, L - O - V - E this track from back in the day!
Definitely a TIMELESS CLASSIC - still so beautiful, 45 years later...❤️
I love the real instruments and appreciate the time and effort it takes to master them.
Great to see you back, man! ♥️
Jayvee TV 😊
gerry was an underrated genius R.I.P
I won't lie... I rewind the intro to this song a minimum of 3 times before letting it run LOL. Its total fire!
This is what happens when you put a truly amazing rhythm guitarist and vocal harmonizer in charge. :P
I love these type of videos? Great work
I absolutely love this song. Takes me right back to 1978. Welcome back ❤❤❤❤❤
What I love about your channel vs others is that you really understand music. You don’t just appreciate it, you feel it, and are brilliant at articulating those feelings. Glad you’re back!
In an interview, Rafferty explained that he wrote the song about his wife. He said, “It’s just a love song really. It’s just about someone who is there for you all the time, no matter what.” He went on to say that the song came very quickly to him, and it’s a song that people can relate to on a personal level.
I got this song from my mom a while ago love this song
Loved this song and still do... So glad you when I see new videos. Miss ya!
Wore this Album out! in (1978)
It’s so cool to see another music lover react to things I love. ✌🏼
Pedal steel guitar, played in a very unique & magical way.
Welcome back!! You were so missed! This an amazing song. You can hear all of the instruments individually and at the same time blend so smoothly. Love your appreciation for the talent of the musicians!
You said it well !
I absolutely love this song! I was about 12 when it came out and it has had me in its grip since then. This is one of my all-time favorites from my life soundtrack.
Same here
One of my all time favorite songs!
Have missed you, the best reactor on UA-cam! Great song, have always been a favorite of mine and haven’t heard it in ages.
I have to agree with you!
wow I haven't heard this in awhile great song
This was popular when I went into the Military! ❤ Rafferty had some very profound music!
this song is so underrated!!
One of the most romantic songs ever. One of my favorites!
We miss you Jay, hope life is treating you well.
"Get It right Next Time" by Gerry Rafferty is fantastic too!
Great to see you Jay . I absolutely love this song. ❤✌️🌼
Never heard this song before. I was born 79, but there's so much music this one never found me. Love enjoying old favourites and discovering new music with you 🙌🏼
F1rst!!!🎉🎉🎉
Rafferty was one of my faves from my youth as a 10 yr old.
🏆
Intros is something Berry Gordy insisted on for all his Motown songs. They had to be immediately recognizable. I highly recommend Hitsville: The Making of Motown, documentary from 2019. So interesting how they ran the business.
Anyway, this takes me right back to '78.
This is such a classic track, it really has everything you could possibly want in a song ❤
Fantastic Scottish artist plus John Bryne the artist that designed Gerry's album covers.x
So refreshing to see that you still love 70s music. Good to see you back here again too.
You really understand our older music 💗🎶 words .meaning.. instruments... were u secretly born back them 😊
So good to see you. I've missed you and your great reactions!
I remember this song 🎶 MANY years ago it was a great song 🎶 and it still sounds great.
🎉 Good to see you back Jay doing songs 🎶
So many of the people doing the same type of work as you have turned to doing movies and newscasts,.. and I kind of like it when they stick to the music 🎵 cuz that's what makes me the happiest.🎉❤ 🎶😁
This is one of my all time favorites!!! It’s on my play list for “cruising”. When you’re on a long drive, you just can’t help but sing along with this song!!! I’ve loved it since childhood. They don’t make them like this anymore, that’s for sure. Thank you for finally reviewing this one!! It made my day!!! Now I’ve got it on repeat!! 😂😂
Your talent is your excellent analysis and knowledge of music! You have a sincere sense of humor, too. And your personality is upbeat-- something the world needs right now. Thank you!
Thanks….I just downloaded this song so loved it way back yonder! 😂
Love this song. In 1972 Gerry Rafferty was in the Scottish folk rock band Stealers Wheel & had a big hit with "Stuck In The Middle With You". Later on, he went out on his own & then had the big hits "Baker's Street", "Right Down The Line" & "Night Owl".
You should watch a video with Billy Connelly, he played in the group with Gerry Rafferty, they were bests friends, I think it was on tour in Australia, they were so drunk , they smoke the bible in the hotel room, as they couldn't find any paper to roll a joint, so they decide to use the bible.
This is nothing to brag about, you should probably delete this!@@loreleimorphee5162
Cannot go wrong with Rafferty! Welcome back, man!❤
I had it played at our wedding years and years ago.
If you haven't done it already, you should also listen to Gerry's "Get It Right Next Time". There's a really cool video of Gerry and the band playing it in the recording studio.
Yes indeed!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE this song. Tou did good love ❤️
I love this song . ❤️
Gerry Rafferty. A true musical legend. My favourite artist whose songs resonate so much with me. He has so many fantastic songs. Baker Street is what he's known for with a lot of people but his catalogue is superb. My go to artist. Don't Speak Of My Heart, Easy to Talk, Winters Come. The Royal Mile. Light of Love. Moonlight & Gold and one of my favourites, Shipyard Town. Anyone that doesn't listen to Gerry, is truly missing out of beautifully written songs. RIP Gerry. Scotland's finest.
The story he tells is sooo true
Where the hell have you been? Good to see you
Gerry was a genius 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
Always Loved this song!
I grew up with this! I was happy to see you on my notifications
You’ve been missed. Welcome back and great to see you. ❤
I come from the town of Crieff....Ewan Mcgregor's home town. Well, we had a folk club and Gerry and Billy Connely used to play there with many more.xx
You've got good taste in music brother! 👍
Check out his earlier hit with his band Stealer's Wheel called "Stuck In The Middle".
Still an awesome song. A true test of time❤❤❤. Missed your reactions!
Welcome back. ❤️😎
Cool chill song love the harmonies
Welcome back! This is one of my favorite tracks
Welcome back. Great song and reaction. Haven't seen in the comments that Gerry was the main vocalist in Steeler's Wheel. "Stuck In The Middle With You", another great song that's worth a listen.
Whatever's Written In Your Heart, and Home And Dry are both great ones by Gerry Rafferty.
The 70s. The best decade in music. No music like it since. Such an amazing variety. Turn on the radio and you'd hear Aerosmith, Elton John, Dolly Parton, Led Zepplin, Marvin Gaye, Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Queen, Paul Anka, Gladys Knight, Neil Young, The Carpenters, Elvis, and Ray Stevens singing "The Streak" back to back. Lyrics, analog musicianship and an ability to sing without autotunes mattered. What didn't matter was videos, dancers, wind machines and pyrotechnics because the music was front and center. Music was an experience for the ear, heart and soul.
OH YEAH,Rafferty
Love this song ! Glad you are back !
Jayyyyyyyyyyyyyy one of the best reacters on You Tube! I missed you, man! Great song choice. I remember how much you loved Bakers Street! Grateful you are back my friend! 👏🎵👏
Great song! Great reaction!
Ahhhhh, good to have you back! Thanks !
Hugh Burns on that mesmerizing lead guitar 🎸
Welcome back..i love this song
Good to see you back. Great reaction to an fantastic song!
Just a fantastic song.RIP.Gerry Rafferty.🙏🏴🏴👍
Reminds me of the song "Lady, you pick me up when I'm down." I like this "right down the line." Sometime can you react to the Weeknd "Blinding Lights."Also the Weeknd sings "Save your tears for another day." Also a good song.
As the kids like to say, this song is like a fire.
Night and Day is beautiful,
Thank God! It's great day knowing I can find more reasons to smile these days right here
I'm so glad you're out of youtube jail, had I'd known I would have put something on your books. 😂😂
Nice song, and reaction! 💕
Spot-on fella! One small thing I love that no one's mentioned yet is that line "you've been as constant as the Northern Star", which could - maybe - be a nod to Joni Mitchell's line from A Case Of You. Fab song. Too easy to dismiss this as "yacht rock" or "AOR" - but it's just a great song, superlatively arranged and performed.
This song is rarely reviewed yet remains one of my favs. THANKS.
So great to see you back! Love your channel! Awesome reactions.
Yay! Jovaughn's back!
Gerry Rafferty - "Get It Right Next Time" is an absolute corker! Please add that one to your list :-)

Hearts Run Dry by Gerry Rafferty has equally beautiful instrumentation towards the end of the piece.
