Looking back now being 64. I was so blessed to have grown up in the 70's!!!!! So many young reactionaries wanted to have that experience too!!!!!! You for one! Great reaction, Britt! Get well soon!🙏🙏
Love this song. In 1972 Gerry Rafferty was in the Scottish folk rock band Stealers Wheel & had a big hit with "Stuck In The Middle With You". Later on, he went out on his own & then had the big hits "Baker's Street", "Right Down The Line" & "Night Owl".
Love Gerry Rafferty! Have this album, it's fantastic!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. His voice is so smooth!!!!! The sax in Baker Street is outstanding!!!! Suggest doing that next!❤
This song always reminds me of my wife Sonia, who suddenly passed away November 10th 2021. I would always sing it to her when I played it the car. She loved it too.❤️
Well..after 4 days of night shift here at my Delta 4 Camp Base where I´m stationed it was a pleasant surprise to hear this song reacted by Britt, when I requested this I never thought she would play it to be honest. It reminded me back in the late 70s being a kid and burning my fingers on those numbers phones dialing the request line of Y95 Tampa Bay my hometown to request this song. Watching Britt´s reaction through many 70s song in her channel I am positive 100% she would have loved to grow up in those 70s like many of us did from kids to teens...eventhough there were no internet no cell phones...OMG...but we had the time of our lives...she recently reacts to Archie Bunker, that was a sitcom very popular and I recall coming home from school with my bike long tube socks from sears...vintage baseball raglan tees and my Dad watching ARCHIE or Three´s Company. Anyhow Britt I wnat to thank you for playing my request, and eventhough it´s not good times for us here we are proud of serving the US Marines Corp. And let me send a warm nice cheers to all folks in your channel. Thanx you Rock!
So many songs in the 70's and 80's (most of them) were about being in love, looking for love, staying in love, losing love, hoping for love, how much I love you, and more. These were positive songs or songs about hope. Compare this to the songs that have been coming out for the past 20 years or more. This is why the older generation has a more positive outlook. That was part of our culture.
One of my favorite recording Artist of 1978. This is one of those songs that are absolutely timeless... In another words, no matter how many times I hear this song, it sounds as good as the first time I heard it.
@@AlanRaffertySorry but you're both wrong, it's the first best song on the album lol. I've had this song as my ringtone for like the past 10 years I love it so much 🥇
❤️🔥 oh my goodness one of my all time faves, so underrated so beautiful, love how you groove to it! When those my harmonies open up and during bridge section, my heart melts. Also love the bass!
The 70's music was the best for my generation, I was in my PRIME! 21 - 30 years old. Blaring the radio driving to and from work, later joing the Air Force, then eventually getting married and raising a family. It only got harder, and there was way less time with radio and playing my records. It was all about the kids and eventually the grand kids. Time passes, lives change, music changes and we find new music. But the stuff from our "prime" years are what really sticks with us.
The great Gerry Rafferty. My favourite singer / songwriter. He has a huge catalogue of wonderful songs. Most always reference Baker Street, and whilst it is certainly a masterpiece & the one he’s known best for, songs such as Whatever’s written in your Heart, Don’t Speak of My Heart, The Royal Mile, Light of Love, A Dangerous Age, Winters Come, Family Tree & the utterly fantastic Shipyard Town are just a few other masterpieces of which many are based on Gerry’s own life experiences. A true musical genius. RIP Sir. I salute you.
High School memories... amazing that certain songs of the past can place me back places visually and a time of when I would listen to it back then, Wow!
Britt, Loved your reaction! A Classic Rock singer, Gerry Rafferty a very under rated singer. I would like to suggest "Baker Street". I think you would really like. It has a very nice saxophone intro and in-between, along with a chilling vibe.
Gerry was the singer with Stealers Wheel on the song Stuck in the Middle With You. Worth a listen. Also, you really need to hear 10cc, I'm Not in Love. 70s classic!
It’s cool seeing so many youngins reacting to these timeless classics. Being 57 I was just old enough to know I was hearing gold. This single and others like it were flooding the airwaves back then. Imagine a time in history when car stereos had 8-track players, moms drove station wagons with CB radios ,TVs only had a max of four stations and only the forth station if we had our young sister or bother wrapped in tinfoil holding the antenna. We can’t bring back the 70s but we can keep the classics alive. Groovy job! Aloha
Memories of my childhood and my first girlfriend. This in Baker Street or on the radio a lot and it was just so easy to listen to and feel good with. Even though people would be into harder stuff or different stuff, it was just easy to like Gerry Rafferty. Love your animated interpretation, laugh. I love doing that with friends and partners, just kind of put some music on and act it out and be funny and get down to it and all that. ❤
I love her reaction to this song.....she has so much fun with it and that's what its all about!!! Her enjoyment and smile is just as nice as the song itself.
This song is really beautiful! I've loved it since I first heard it on the radio way back in the 70s! But to me his hit, Baker Street is dyn-o-mite!!! 🧨🧨🧨
God bless you, girl!! I've been getting depressed, watching younger people react to my childhood SOUNDTRACK. You gave it some hope again, after tonight's reaction to this video. TRULY!! ❤ I am now a new subscriber & hopefully stay that way, as I continue down your journey of old music turned GREAT AGAIN! Thank you, love... here's hoping for more great music on your PLATE. Hugs, from Mesa, AZ 🌵
I still remember the year 1978 when Gerry's magic album city to city first came out it really took Casablanca my birth city by surprise and (right down the line) was the first song I listened to I immediately fell in love with his voice and music , you were a truly talented perfectionist Gerry RIP that's all I can say.
Gerry Rafferty is one of my favorite performers. Every album was phenomenal. There's only a few "hits" in his catalogue, but don't sleep on the deep cuts.
For the record, I've watched several of your reactions and was very entertained. And I have to say your interpretation and insight to each song was delightful. Plus, you have the best skin and mouth on the internet ❤
Awesome Brit. As you know I watch many channels that support Angelina Jordan and that's how I cam across you. I must say though that you are a Channel I watch more frequently because your just you and comfortable in front of the cam. I am always engaged entertained , and excited to see where it's going to take you and where you take us. I was 15 when this puppy dropped on the scene. You are not wrong the Seveties were pretty special. Sure 😢 do miss them LOL . Keep it up and I will keep cherry 🍒 picking. I particularly like when you react to bands that I have seen. MY very first real concert was an out of town by train on my own to another city where u attended a Beach Boys concert 1974. I was 11 and my 14 year old cousin came with from a different town but close enough we stayed there. My mom was big on music and it played everyday in our house. The concert was my 11th Birthday Present 🎁 and never forgotten. I was in my own clubbing band at 20. I am 61 and still play guitar everyday.. I have seen pop to classic, country to metal.lots and lots of concerts.. All my kids adults bow play something. I am off toa concert this Saturday (Punk) Daughter is a bass player in one of the bands that does all originals . Bluesfingers1("The Music of Everything ")
Really enjoyed watching your reactions to the same parts of the song that blew me away. At 61, it’s great watching someone the same age as my children enjoy this timeless classic. Artist recommendation: Burton Cummings. Song: “I Will Play a Rhapsody”.
One of the best thing about the mid to late 70's was that you had choices for so much good music to fit your mood. You had this that was Adult Oriented/Middle Of The Road/Contemporary Rock and then you had the rock/hard rock/progressive stations and a lot of us bounced back and forth between them and a lot of us were fans of most all of the rock music. In my collection in the late 70's you would dind Zeppelin/The Cars/Gerry Rafferty/Al Stewart/Pink Floyd/Foreigner/Pablo Cruise/Ambrosia/Yes/ELP/The Police//Allman Brothers/Alan Parsons Project/Kanasa and too many more to list.
Great reaction Britt! I LOVE singing this song to my wife. We sometimes dance to it in the kitchen when making dinner. She knows that I mean every...single...word of it! She is my 'WOMAN' (I've loved Gerry's pronunciation of it since first hearing this as a kid!) I've always dug the bassline of this track - it's such a groove! Highly recommend the opening track of this album, The Ark - it's wonderful. Cheers.
One of the cds/albums I bought when it came out and still have. I use to fall asleep to this all the time. I have probably listened to this album in its entirety a thousand times or at least 800-900 times (no hyperbole). Definitely in my top ten of all time.
Love your manner Britt, watching in from the UK. Theres another Rafferty song called 'the Ark'. Very rarely gets played for some strange reason, but should be a Classic. Be great if you gave it a play. Best wishes with the new family addition
Baker Street is another great Gerry Rafferty song. It has the one of the most iconic saxophone riffs in the history of rock music.
Yes! This!🎉🎉🎉
Baker Street is my favorite
There is no listening to this and NOT listening to Baker Street.

This song was an inside joke with me & my recently deceased wife. The way he says *wo’maan* would make her giggle like a schoolgirl.
Scottish 😊
almost the entire City to City album is a masterpiece and it's follow up album Night Owl is just as good.
