My favourite underdog for sure. He’s incredibly funny without making it seem like he’s trying hard to be funny. I like all the underdogs and I find they’re all funny and seem like great guys, but poppt’s humour is so natural and effortless, and I love his chill demeanour when playing games. Even when looking at Mario kart he’s got such a funny chill vibe
I just want to chime in and say he's also underrated as a player of this game regardless of how many subs or how funny his videos are. My impression of his play from this channel is he is the most wholesome Underdog, and also the most dangerous to run into in bracket or online.
Another great thing about f tilt: it is -11( or -8 winged form) on shield with the sweet spot, no grab in the game can reach far enough and the same with most fast OoS options. So they have to drop shield which takes 11 frames. This means sephiroth’s f tilt is actually +0(or +3 winged form) on shield which means you can act at the same time as your opponent. So its unpunishable out of shield.
The neutral B can be neutralized by some swords! Sephiroth backairing another Sephiroth's fully charged neutral B will make it explode far away from him, leaving him safe.
Side notes: Sephiroth one winged form gives you access to more combos with the damage and air speed increases Nair loops become true, allowing for 40-50% combos being possible; Back throw back air at the edge of the stage kills at 45%. This can net you ridiculously early kills just by standing at the edge of the stage while your opponents on ledge, bait a neutral get up/get up attack, then shield to back throw back air. This can kill even heavyweights at 55%. With one winged mode, combos may start to look like landing nair, rising nair, jump forward air. That would become a true 40% combo. The one winged mode just expands his combo game and damage output massively.
I've seen a lot of sephiroth guides by now but this is definitely the most informative some people were literally only talking about "his forward tilt is a slash, it has good range" so on and so on with every move.
I’ve actually found that if you Gigaflare on Ledge and have it blow up behind the opponent and force them to shield, you can down smash while they try and shield the Gigaflare and just break their shield. I LOVE this Character btw
Ohhh that's a good idea, I'm really close to elite with him :/ I wanna learn some more combos if you'd wanna play online so I could learn more about him since tbh I'm just throwing out whatever works and it works sometimes lol
@@alexosow uhhh maybe so! I don’t wanna sound like a shill Master, but I do stream on Twitch Monday/Thursday/Friday, mainly being open arenas. Maybe we could play Sephiroth there! Although, I think this option and many other options for Sephiroth are a lot better offline.
This is amazing information Smash attack during gigaflare on shield break. Side B can spike off stage if you get on opposite side. 2 framing with down air Back airs kill at 80
A tip for casual play is his final smash hits areas above the sword swing, you can be right near his face above him and his final smash will still hit anyway
hey man. I'm subbed to your channel. I totally just learned so much from you in about 10 seconds. Using the Up B to cover the side of the stage. BRILLIANT! I have been taking the risk to back air someone into the side of the stage. This is far less risky! Also, nice styles on Ken lmao!
5:25 so, wait... Lucas tried to hit you with the bat, but it got countered by your down B, but the actual attacking part of the counter got hit back at you by Lucas’s bat because it’s a projectile. 🤯
wing makes him 200x better at edge guarding, stalling and landing. also forward air can be nice off stage because back air requires precise timing, whereas forward air has a lingering hitbox that you can clip people with if you fast fall. also, against short characters (which are harder MUs for sephiroth in general,) hitting them with short hop aerials on seph can be hard. once again the lingering hitbox on forward air becomes useful, as you can fast fall it into the ground and the falling hitbox will hit shorter characters in neutral.
I like to play sepheroth because he’s the embodiment of a final boss. The up-B is really dynamic and his moves are super hard hitting while also keeping the distance between you and your opponent. Overall I think this character is definitely going to see at least some competitive success and I hope to be apart of that movement.
The up tilt is underrated you can pressure the top platform so if they miss a tech up there you can get a kill at like 80% and it can cover the jump off the ledge to and if helps if your opponent lands with aireials
he's quite hard to play imo, his shorthop height, slow movement and laggy moves make him feel way different from characters I normally play. good luck getting elite tho!
Something I noticed, is that if you are against krool recovering, you can downair him and if you space it right, the down air will trade with the helicopter. I’m sure this is nothing new because other characters have stall and falls, and there are just better labbers than me Anyway, that’s what I noticed
Sephiroth was a character that I really think opened peoples eyes about up b as a attack you can also do this with fox, falco, lucario and maybe a few others
Btw you can time your neutral getup to not get hit by that gigaflare ledgetrap and then do anything else after that. I have done this multiple times and I never got hit by it (this probably also works with roll getup but I haven’t tried it once).
I’ve never played FF. I’m not a FF fan but I like sephiroths moveset and playstyle and I’m trying to main him. I knew about the down throw fair combo but I didn’t know if backthrow bair and some of the other combos. Thanks for the tutorial:)
back throw to back actually can be a true combo? i think? If you have wing, all your moves are powered up so if you back throw bair at ledge at varying percents for different weights (around 45) it will kill.
Lucas doesnt reflect the counter to hit sephiroth, he simply reflects the purple stuff allowing him to hit past the shield with f smash. Its easier to tell if you use other reflectors.
Poptt1 what changes have you done at your controls? Because when I try to do a forward tilt it gives me a dash attack or a forward smash ( I am not good with a tilt stick )
if youre trying to do running f-tilt you almost need tilt stick. if you love smash stick you can press down on the left stick to cancel your run then do the tilt. poppt uses tilt stick and has tap jump off btw, and likely has jump bound to one of the triggers
Dude... What's the music you started with? I can tell it's a Legend of Zelda song, but it's a different version than the one in Ultimate. I've always thought it's hype. Anyone know?
I really think the octalash move could be better. I don't like how it leaves him vulnerable to attacks. He should still be able to move fast even after he performs that move. The octalash move makes him move like an uncontrollable car so I make sure I'm not too close to the ledge or if I'm aiming up.
