- Today I (hopefully) fix a parking sensor issue on our Volvo V70. It's been a problem for a long time and I figured it was a good time to get it done. At first, the fault code diddent want to go away, but after a few days it seems to stay away. Time will tell if I need to revisit this or not, but atm it seems to be working fine. If your parking sensor doesn't look bad, it might be a good idea to measure it to make sure it is broken before buying a new one. You might just have a similar issue as I did in this video.

I replaced the egr, I reset the egr, but the error p200900 I don't know what it is

If you haven't got a diagnostic machine you can do it without by starting the car then hold the read button and press the fog light twice then let go of the read button
Be careful when pressing from outside. I broke off one side of the mounting that sticks to the inside of bumper.
How much can you do software wise in these "newer" Volvos? Can you for example program new components with VIDA or similar software? Didn't Volvo make all this an online only service around this time?
Yes, I think it was around 2014 that they went cloud based. I don't really think about it too much, but if I need to software download I would have to go to a workshop. If you have a subscription service for your "real" autel I guess you can access some swdl stuff, probably for an additional price. But this unit cannot loaf ecus and so on. But reading live data, calibrations, logging, 99% of all fault codes it does really good considering the price 👍
@@BackmansGarage Alright, thanks for the info. 👍🏼 Good to know that you can at least do the basic stuff. Was asking because I'm looking to buy a v70, will probably get something like a 2014 or older just so I can have the option to do most things myself. I know this is the roaught manufacturers are going, and even further when it comes to electric cars... Don't really like the idea of having to rely or be dependent on something like that. :)
2014/15, 5 cylinder diesel awd, automatic, face-lift would be my recommendation. Go for the full lether interior with sunroof and all the tech👍
@@BackmansGarage I'll agree with you on the engine. The 2.5 l petrol turbo is just way too thirsty and I know to stay well away from the Ford engines. 😄AWD would be nice but i'm kind of sceptical on the durability of automatics, have seen a few that had to have them replaced. Older generations with some miles on them though. Facelift, yes. Extra equipment is always desirable but the sunroof I mostly see as a source of trouble.. I'm probably just way to picky, like I don't really want a red, black or white one and that reduces the cars available by a lot.
I have U0159 error code in xc60 2015 and all off sensor are fine. Same message on cloocks as on your volvo.
All sensors are making clicking correct noise on R and D.
Car scaner is telling me missing communication module A....
Maybe modul broken?
Turn off and on engine sorting the problem until next day or 2km later
Can be a broken module, wiring harness issuse, many things. Start with supply and grounds check voltage supply to module. Maybe there is some technical service bulletins on the problem ?
After erasing the fault codes VIDA say to ......
1 turn off the ignition
2 start the engine and rev it over 1500rpm
3 turn off the ignition
4 start the engine and let idle for 20 seconds
This should reset the modules.
When my intercooler pipe split the engine management light was still on after fixing it so i did what i said in my first comment and that sorted it
Kanske bara för att det var nån tredjepartssensor och saknar nått motstånd eller nån canbus signal. 🤷🏻♂
Kan vara.. Försökte hitta en länk till dom men hittar inget. Dom kanske har slutat att tillverkas, har legat på hyllan ett tag nu... Lite skumt fel men frun är nöjd och det är huvudsaken! :D

Hi, try cleaning out the egr valve and the map sensor on the intake (they get soot on them), delete fault code and se if it re-apperas 👍

D3, D4 and D5 engine.
In My xc60 D5 2015 I connected LED light with resistor to one of glov plugs.
+ to glow plug - to engine body.
Glow plugs teking a part of DPF regeneration. Now I know when DPF takes regeneration and I know to do not turn off the engine as LED light is stil lighting until regeneration complete.
When engine is coold in the morning Just ignor LED as engine is warming up for up to 12mins.
My DPF regeneration is every 1800 -2000km
Ok, I had no idea that the glow plugs take part in the DPF cycle. Nice way to check when is working, I wonder if the early 2.0 diesels in volvo V50/V40 has the same function.
@@BackmansGarage V50/V40 you cane check if at the time off regeneration heated mirrors and rear window is heating.
In meny cars heated mirrors is the signal.
Just for the test you can connect LED to one off heated mirror for check.
In My xc60 I have LED since october 2021 and work perfect.
1A fuse fitted Just by glow plug for safety.
All vehicles now have a similar amount of gimmicky tech gadgets, the ridiculous centrally mounted iPad in current models is akin to the 1950's tailfin fad. The focus should be on build/component quality, inherent safety design features etc, not the Google carplay app!
I know, been trying to sell the idea of a Volvo Amazon Wagon with the dual carb B20 engine being the ultimate family car, but the wife wont go for it 😄
@@BackmansGarage My first car was a 1972 142S, dual carb B20 mated to a 4 speed manual box. The outstanding build quality of that vehicle sold me on Volvo for life! Cheers.
