Your comments are very sincere and have a very clear view of a media product. You have given a detailed and in-depth analysis of the factors that you believe reduce the quality of that content. If you were selected, how would you change to improve the quality of 'How It's Made'?
My daughter and grandson gave me a custom container of M&M's once. They were pink and teal and had a picture of my grandson laughing, MOM with a heart for the 'o', We love you, and Best grandma. I left it alone for the longest time. But, being a diehard chocolate -lover, I couldn't resist. It was a some time before I finished them but I at least got a couple good pictures to remember them.
Wow, this video is super interesting and really well put together! I had no idea about the process behind making M&Ms. But honestly, I have to say, I think peanut M&Ms are way better than the plain ones. They just have that perfect crunch and flavor combo. Curious to hear what others think!
My aunt works at the m and m factory. I think she does quality control now. She gets boxes of free m and m’s and other candies just for working there. She gives me a bunch of candy whenever I visit. She lives in Blairstown now which is north of Hackettstown. I’m in south Jersey, Little Egg Harbor. Also, I’ve never seen square m and m’s. What’s up with that?
Impressive how you guys are making these videos without actually going to the factories!!! I guess shows like “How It’s Made” by the discovery channels & other companies have provided enough videos for you to use! I’m envious 🤪
Funny that in the senior comments section of my 1982 yearbook the question "why don't they make blue M&Ms?" was brought up but they didn't become a thing all the way until 1995!
The people who designed and built those machines are amazing. I heard that the FDA is contemplating banning artificial dyes in our foods? What will M&M do?
great video! i loved how detailed the process of making M&Ms is. however, i have to say that while they’re tasty, the whole idea of candy coating seems a bit over the top. do we really need all those colors? sometimes it feels like they’re more about looks than taste. what do you guys think?
Just an observation: It has been a little while since I have viewed How It's Made. With this one, it seems that the narrator is the same person, but some things are very different about the narration in this spot. It used to be a very measured and same all around approach. This is a bit different. Perhaps the narrator was sick and working from home without the usual sound engineering.... Or perhaps he is now being held against his will and forced to narrate 😜 Just an observation and not a true conspiracy theory, lol.
It’s not the actual “How it’s Made” creators. This is an auto-generated AI version. Yes it’s still written and edited by humans, but it generously helped by stock footage, by a generated voice (made to sound like the familiar narrator), and by mostly meaningless filler script.
@@davidswanson5669 That all makes sense if it is true. And I don't like it one bit. I appreciate the reply comment (Assuming this is not an AI bot comment). See what I mean? What is real anymore??
@@shinigami146 believe me, I worry about the ai thing too, especially since I enjoy commenting in UA-cam. Luckily I’m able to spot ai, for now, because it has a slightly foreign feel to it. Scary to think what it’ll be like in 10 years.
We are looking to put together an editorial video on candy manufacturing and would love to use some clips from this video. Could we use a few clips from this video as long as we give proper credit? Thank you so much.
I've been enjoying m&m's since the late 1940's and they've always been my favorite. Some thoughts though.....I seem to recall back in those early days each piece had both letters and the ampersand stamped on them and not just one "m". Also, around maybe 1955 Mars introduced the peanut line by putting one peanut piece in each small bag of the chocolate ones. None of the kids in my neighborhood liked them and to this day (sorry Mars) I've never eaten another. I wish the video had shown how they put the "M" on and gave some detail regarding the wax that covers the candy which gives us that famous saying "Melts in your mouth, not in your hand." How many out there remember the days when they discontinued the red color because someone said the red dye used could cause cancer? That nonsense was finally put to rest and good old m&m's were their old selves again. The troops in WW2 loved these things and they've been going strong ever since.
great video! i really enjoyed learning about the process behind M&Ms. however, i have to say that i'm still a bit skeptical about the whole idea of "fun fact" flavors. sometimes i feel like they take away from the classic taste we all know and love. what do you all think?
I get it. When kraft foods knocks on your door and offers you a bag for a 15 minute video, you won the lottery. Just never let THEM write the script for YOUR video ever again. The narration was about as interesting as reading the safety instructions for a rubber glove. Kraft might know how to make good snacks, but they dont know how to narrate a youtube video. Reading out a 10 minute blank PR statement does NOT work in the entertainment industry
I love how you have a section dedicated to High Quality. Food dyes like Red 40 etc is not quality and in many places around the world considered poison.
I really enjoyed this video! It's fascinating to see the process behind how M&Ms are made. But honestly, do you think they go a bit overboard with the colors? Sometimes I think the natural look would be just as appealing. What do you all think?
Someone told me the 'm' is actually applied by people with very good handwriting skills ! Yes , one at a time ! The only interesting thing about this video is the comment section.
This is like a 9 minute trailer for an actual documentary I'd like to watch.

I believe an old video of Unwrapped by the Food Network with Mark Summers went into that detail. it's here on UA-cam.
Id like to see the machinery that was used when they first started making these.
But how do they get their m?
Right like the molding and candy coating i figured i came searching because i was curious how they re align them and stamp the m
Minis are the best M&Ms ever… they taste a lot better too . But loved the videi
Just did the drop test into my bowl and the m&m shell went flying everywhere. I guess they didn’t do enough quality control on this batch

This video has a very AI created look to me.
The writing is generic and while not terrible, says nothing of consequence. It is super inhuman.
This was more like an advertisement than what the original TV show was like. It does sound ai generated, both the voice and the script.

A lot of this footage had absolutely nothing to do with M&Ms, but other types of candy.
