shes not a regular person if train every single day, cmon
And already a pretty fit person in general!!
Lol I mean they still have to train is not like just a person that hasn’t ever ran a day in their life would just go and do a 24 25 mile run or however many miles the race is
A regular person would not finish
Not everybody is a slug.
I mean, I am, but I drive past people running all the time. A couple miles seems pretty common.
A couch potato would never make it, might be hospitalized.
Ramping up from a few miles to a marathon is no joke.
She trained for only one month -- it would be completely idiotic to not have done that!!
I need an average person who hasn’t done exercise since high school to train for 6 months and do a marathon.
That literally isn't an average person either someone who spends most of their days on a couch doesn't exactly scream average to me
go watch yes theory's video they somewhat did that
@@cruzl1182 thats what average is now in 2020. Atheltic people are rare, thats now a fact
cross exit most people don’t have a strict workout regiment so...
Isnt enough
They tried with an actual regular person, they died.
😂😂😂 yep
Ahh makes sense. 😔 RIP regular people
Hilarious 😂
My turn...18 days...regulqr person. Just a father that has done alot of workouts in the past, fallen off, transformed his body again and fallen off again.
Now I've signed up for a marathon at my out of shape heaviest and I've got 18 days to make something happen. Epsom salt qnd tens machine for the win. 😷
@@justineyler114 So what happened?? Did you get through the damn thing??
Does buzzfeed not know what a regular person is?
CcrazC works out nearly everyday and both parents are athletes 😂😭 very regular
CcrazC Sure they do. They also know how to get clicks. 😂
Have you considered that training is regular for some people and people that don't train at all is irregular?
@@JacquelineMayuga ur not american are u
Technically, the human body is made to move. A lot. So the people who aren't active are actually the abnormal ones, from a scientific standpoint.
Her: runs a marathon gracefully
Me 2 minutes into a marathon: *panting* help me, in dieinggg
it going take 20 min before you too tired...
* im dying
Safiya Suraini “dying”
title: “regular person”
Her: yeah i’ve run triathlons and other races, work out regularly, and danced my whole life plus both of my parents are athletes
lol
It doesnt make a difference if she doesnt train as a runner. I've danced my whole life, regularly work out and cross train and I can truthfully tell you, I cannot run a mile. I can barely run 4 blocks without being sore and winded the next day. It's a different set of muscles being used. It's like starting from scratch learning a new skill. Running long distances is a skill.
@@shhhh6174 regular or average.... it not the same...
Her parents ran triathlons and marathons not her.
I think she said her parents have run marathons and triathlons not her... I might be wrong though? You're right though if she's danced all her life ahah 😂
Oliver Fabian oh you’re right, I just rewatched it mb
“Regular Person”
“I work out pretty frequently... both my parents are athletes”
To be fair, a regular person should work out frequently, whether they do or dont is their choice
@@maias3061 a person should workout but most people don't workout especially females
@@wiiiz3 females nowadays work out more than males.
@@wiiiz3 Dont you think that is a bit stereotypical?
@@aphradite321 well I've been to every planet fitness in my area & there's always more males than females. Maybe you got that illusion from spending too much time on social media.
The title is contradicted 5 seconds into the video
i stopped watching 5 seconds in
Why?
@@KDGG97 "I work out pretty frequently....both my parents have run many marathons and triathlons" The title gives the impression that some average joe ran a marathon in 30 days. (most avg joes aren't seasoned athletes or have marathoners as parents.)
Daniela Schmidt working out frequently (even daily) is the normal standard for our bodies to endure, plus her parents being this or that says nothing.

Does anyone else remember the video years ago when Michelle trained to do a marathon?
That video was so inspirational to me, it just sucks that this one doesn't live up to its predecessor :/
You are more than a little unreasonable.
Michelle was a competitive cyclist in college and continued at BF. She had a lot of the muscles and the lung capacity to begin with. Her whole thing, even now, is working out.
@@recoil53 I don't mean in athletic ability, I mean in the set up of the video, showing us her journey, her struggles, and her victories. In her video I went on a journey that inspired me, comparatively this one was boring.
Yes that was awesome and on her channel she spoke about what she ate
I loved that video Michelle did. The only buzzfeed video that I regularly rewatch. Total inspiration porn. This video was average, but not nearly as good with editing or camera work. Good God this woman though. She did such a good job, considering her circumstances and time given to prepare.
Yea this one was clickbait bs
Whether she is a “regular person” or not, running a full marathon is f’ing hard on any fitness level. Congratulations for making it to the finish line!!!! 🥇 🏃♀️
I think people are bitching because she admitted to doing triathlons and other physical training which makes her far from a regular person.
Can she drop the skin care routine tho
Ikr. All I kept thinking is, how beautiful this lady is, no makeup
Amy Gonzales honestly food and water help
Exercise clears your pores naturally.
"A 26.2 mile marathon"
Is there any other kind??
Coulda just said a marathon.
I was thinking the same thing but it's probably just to emphasise how long it is
Indeed!
I mean I’m sure not everyone knows how long a marathon is, because I didn’t know
It muddles things though, I'm sure many people reading the title now believe there are different types of marathons with varying miles. Idk, it just seems unnecessary. Like watching the video you'll see how many miles she is going to run and you'll go "Oh so that's how long a marathon is" rather than going "Oh she ran a 26.2 mile marathon, I wanna see if she could run a 30 mile marathon!"
Idk, I'm stoned.
It's honestly not a huge deal either way. 😂
I think it was just to define the distance, there’s also the Half-marathon (13 miles) and Ultramarathon (30-100 miles) events too
sis really said 🏃🏻♀️
Why am I laughing right now 😂💀😂💀😂
What the flip is this video?! “Regular” person? She’s already athletic!
regular runner...
@@campkira now there ist "Non-Runner" in the titel :D
She even said she ran marathons before
"Runs A 26.2 Mile Marathon"
Are there 26.3 mile Marathons?
Sebastien Weaver yea there is but marathons are mostly measured in kilometers
There are half marathons
Marathon was inspired by a messenger during the Greece war who ran from Athens to Marathon to deliver a massage. After delivered the massage he collapsed and died. Afterwards people were inspired by that and try to run the exact distance and it happened to be exactly 42km or 26.2miles. That's why it called Marathon(it's a City in Greece).
Omg she did so well...I can't even roll from my bed to get my headphones without panting.

Calm down runner girl big surprise people have different skills
Runner Girl or invest their time in other things?
Runner Girl there are different forms of fitness, aerobic and anaerobic, circuit and continuous training.
Well I have been competitively sprinting since the age of like 4, and am unable to run a few miles. All I’m saying, is you have no right shaming someone for not being able to do something, when you don’t know their life e.g. what if they have asthma or a disability.
Great inspiring story! When I was training for my first marathon I remember I did so many mistakes! However, the feeling of fulfillment when I crossed the finish line was so awesome!!!
YOU CAN NOT RUN A MARATHON IN 30 DAYS. she has been training previously
She’s been doing gym workouts etc, not running!
Completely agree with u. NO one can do it. Muscles are not meant to do that much workout for that long. It takes Minimal 6-8 months to slowly build muscles. Even seasoned weight lifting guys can do 100 easy, but no one can do it repeatedly for 4 hours straight . Yr whole body give out. Marathon is nothing ppl can do by “strong will” , its like all the fake liers on UA-cam . They start a Chanel to get viewers n they have to finish…for whatever challenge . They make money over UA-cam views.
next video : regular person does a ufc fight with conor mcgregor
Except the regular person is manny Pacquiao. But dont worry tho! Hes a regular person! Buzzfeed said so!
Lol I think they mean to say she’s a regular person as to say she’s not a runner “marathon runner”
LOL
@@brianda5793 Except they really said 'regular person'...
Let her do it. After all the sniveling that she did in this video, I'd kind of like to see her get punched.

"I've run many marathons and triathlons" hahaha. I thought she was regular like me ;)
regular runner...
I think she said her parents have not her... I might be wrong though?
@@campkira it says non-runner in the opening
It’s her parents
I don’t even run for the bus
She’s complaining about 55 degrees being bad while I’m out here running in -2 degree weather
That is literally on you and 100% your fault and your problem and only yours.
I'm 6'2 255lbs and run a marathon in 4hrs30mins. Around 6mph pace. Its not too hard to complete if you eat right during the race and hydrate constantly. Once you have experienced the pain cave, you can be a lot more comfortable in it.
She’s a “regular person” compared to an elite marathon runner. She’s not going to break any records, she’s just trying to finish the race. It’s not safe to do a marathon unless you have put in significant training. A “regular” person who doesn’t workout wouldn’t be able to finish this race and would put the person in physical danger. So in the sense that she’s just challenging herself and not winning any awards, she is “regular.”
actually, I have an extremely unathletic friend (didnt work out at all) who ran a marathon with basically no training at all. Like, he ran twice In the months leading up to it I think. It was on a dare essentially, because he was talking about how "anybody can run a marathon" , and so we told him he couldnt, and then he proved us all wrong. He actually finished around 10 min pace average as well. We can do WAY more than we think were capable of. When our bodies are telling us to stop, were usually only about 40% spent. I'm a marathon runner, and I train a ton to be able to run marathons at the pace id like to run them at, but id say just crossing the finish line of a marathon in less than 5 and1/2 or 6 hours is a pretty realistic goal for alot of people even if they arent all that athletic/ dont train often.
Ive been training for my first marathon too and documenting my journey. two weeks away and and Im so excited! Thanks for the great tips!
Very Inspirational, Congratulations!
!
I run this year my first half marathon.
Goodluck! 💕
@@patatasorigins9383 thank you!!!
This is amazing congrats youre a superhero
“55 degrees out. The coldest weather I have run in” dude. That’s nothing
No kidding! Try running in the Midwest. I’ve trained in negative temps (Fahrenheit) more times than I can count
@@dakobster6503 it gets really cold in new york, which is more northern than where you live, and actually surrounded by water, so I have literally no clue why you're flexing, but go off I guess.
I appreciate her transparency. So often “runners” make it like it’s the best thing in the world for you to do but it’s so strenuous on the body!
Everyone who says she’s not a regular person is ridiculous. You HAVE to train to run something like that or you could suffer serious injuries. She’s not a runner aka regular person.
I am exhausted listening to this. I hate running but I do watch the marathon on tv most years. Congratulations.
Omg that’s an amazing goal achieved...😀👍🏻👏
I miss when I ran marathons. One thing I focused on but was never completely sure about was proper running form. One of the myths is that it’s just “running”. But no matter a person’s athletic level there is a technique and proper way to run. ... I felt the same on my first marathon my legs were so numb at the end and I was hungry for everything. :)
Everyone is upset she has been called a ‘regular person’ and trained longer than the thirty days. As a runner, a 17 year old marathon runner, I just want to say I don’t care who she is or how long she trained for. She. Ran. A. Marathon. Also, I run almost everyday but I don’t marathon train everyday. She probably did ‘marathon train’ in the final month. I marathon train like 60 days prior
I’m very, very proud of her. ❤️🙏🏾I never thought of doing the NYC marathon but after watching her, I’m inspired to try.
Ebony C watching Brittany runs a marathon made me honestly consider it
It’s hard but it’s possible!! The feeling of accomplishment is amazing
NO one can do it. I wish, cuz i was trying to do that. I hear ppl do marathon all the time growing up. N till i started training myself, i understand how “its not possible just i want to set goal for myself” Muscles are not meant to do that much workout for that long. U need 5 days a week Consistant training, takes 30 days just to build up to run 5km a day, not 44km. (Ps muscles break apart when u train daily. It can only grow little bit daily like 10% of the previous day) .
I refuse to believe someone who never runs can hit a 15 mile run without stopping in less than 30 days
Training for a marathon is no joke for anyone! Congrats on doing it in 30 days!
Her: Runs a marathon and is still alive
Me: Gets to the 'finish line' panting like a dog. Race starts....
Let's not forget, NYC marathon has pacing cut offs. So they probably needed to pick someone who might finish.
A normal person is more likely to finish a trail marathon that has a more generous time cut off. I am turtle pace for trails and the race organizers gave us 13 hours at most (over night race in the desert). Started at 7:30pm and took like 10:30 hours for my 50k. Marathon cut offs for street ones on pavement are usually 6 hours, 7 at the latest.
Regular person ?? She’s a whole trained athlete
Congrats!!
This is really cool! A marathon is super hard, now matter how fit you are. :)
You did it, congratulation
Compared to people who train for marathons... she is normal.
Wow well done that’s very impressive. Ultra next. ;-)
i'm glad she trained and stuff but the title seriously scared me. trying to run a marathon without enough training can cause death and its so so so dangerous.
Death?
I run 4-6 miles several times a week, and sometimes up to 10 miles at a time, but not sure if I ever wanna do a marathon. Don’t feel really compelled to.
Ok we get it, she’s not a regular person in the traditional non-athletic sense. Let’s move on shall we??
I trained only for 40 days and did the Mexico City Marathon, I’m glad I finished!!! Hardest 3-4 hrs of my life, inspiring story
Well done!
You're totally inspiring
I ran a half marathon last year, now I have a full marathon coming up in May.

I'm training for a full marathon... and I am a real regular person (not athletic at all) and this inspired me to keep training
6:24-6:28 I got really concerned for a bit. I thought she was saying that a 3 mile run was her long run 😅

I was the same my left knee and foot wasn't holding up with the long runs so I switched to cycling its a lot easier 🙂
26.2 mile marathon. Is there a different marathon which is being kept secret?
I can’t even run for 1 minute...
She isn't what I would classify as 'a normal person'...
Why is the comment section filled with people saying their gonna gift other people
What was her finish time I didn’t see or hear it?

yea sure buddy, definitely the most regular person ever.
A sis with back pain and knee pain. I’m so happy, I don’t feel alone anymore!
When she mentioned that she didn’t have to finish the marathon in a crazy time of 4 or 4:30, that wasn’t crazy. For my first marathon (Philadelphia), my goal was to qualify for Boston (in 2009, the open time was 3:10:59). I was able to finish in 3:13:08, and I thought that was certifiably insane since I didn’t start back running until January of that year, didn’t run my first race until April, and my first half marathon until October. That was crazy, and almost pulled it off. I eventually qualified less than a year later in Scranton (Steamtown).
I loved the Boston marathon 😎😎😎😎😎😝😉🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Title: “regular person”
Video starts out by saying “so I work out daily and both my parents are athletes” bruhhhhhh
just cause she works out doesn't mean she runs
I am a regular person and last year I signed up for a marathon and didn’t really do any training all bad and I was not on the best health and physical too
So I finished but it took me a long time I think about 10/12 hours:( the only thing that made me happy was that I got the metal because when I started the race I knew it, it was over for me my legs started hurting at the beginning and I couldn’t even walk but I wanted to finish so I keep on going and I was walking with some strangers we were motivating each other……
Now to this year I did it again:( I signed up for this year and I am really scared that I am not going to finish at a reasonable time and with out my legs hurting.
As when I run they hurt every time the pain is unbelievable it really scared me that there is a possibility that I will not finish:(
