Made in NYC. Because we can't move to Japan.
Which anime character do you want to share an umbrella with?
Dorrie: call me BIG D-CHAN
I’m scared of what Big D Chan does in animal crossing
I'm for calling Dorrie "Big D Chan," would be a nice change of pace
Dorrie's looking like a Danganronpa Character, lolol
Initial D fans be like:
Summer festivals are like the proms of American high school rom coms
The best anime trope ever.....
I love how they kept Adrian's off-screen participation. I love how everyone plays off of Adrian.
japanese culture seems to have a very conscious way of looking at romance. in the US it always feels like a real connection being made means you automatically get right to kissing and sometimes screwing, even when you're just a teen. i wish more western culture took that gentle approach to romance, where there's intimacies in small gestures like what you call someone and the way in which you give one another your attention, rather than Full Frontal Physical Contact & such. i know it's not universally true for japan to do this, but it does seem more common than it does here.
I greatly appreciate how you guys add the names of each anime as it's on the screen. I'm running out of romance animes to watch so I'm going to watch every single one I haven't seen yet because I have no life
I was just thinking near the end of the vid that I miss Dorrie's face, then a second later she popped in and that made the day a little better.
Confession time- this is the first Get In The Robot I've watched in a while, because it talks about Kaguya Sama, an anime that regularly makes me break down laughing while on my own in my apartment. Thanks for a really insightful video, and I'll try to catch up with the rest sometime!
“I like romance that ends in death”
You missed the love letter in the footlocker trope. I used to work in a Japanese company before and that was a thing for one of my coworkers.
Don’t worry Dorrie, ur 8 feet tall in our hearts 😁
Umbrella sharing vs umbrella giving trope in anime, like in "Devil is a part-timer" or in "My Neighbor Totoro".
That adorable "Ehihihi" right after she says "I like romance that ends in death" 😂
That talking heads sound cue was on point
I knew Dorrie was a psychopath when I saw her laugh at the nail ripping scene. Pray for the Get In The Robot crew.
