    You have clarified so much for me and I appreciate it. My son is vegan and to support him I’m going the same way. Last night we had beyond burger from whole foods and it was great. But in this video I learned so much and took notes as well so I remember. Glad you mentioned about almond milk, the brand you showed and will try to get that. My son has been telling me and I didn’t take that seriously. Also I use the same vegetable broth. My god, you covered everything. This was fantastic thank you 🙏 🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    Great video and because I live in the UK I find alternative brands either in supermarket's, health food stores and online. I use solgar's B12 supplements but only take it if I haven't consumed any fortified foods/drinks which are my main source of B12, Vitamin D, Calcium and other vitamins and minerals that I don't get through my vegan whole plants foods lifestyle.

I love the vital proteins matcha collagen powder! Is it terrible if I combine that with three dates? Help!! First of all, I want to say thank you for your helpful videos🌱❤️. I’m vegan since I watched one of your videos by mistake, it popped up randomly on UA-cam...
    I can’t remember one day without any pimples in my face for the last 15 years (I’m 32). When I started with the lemon water and the smoothie in the morning about 3-4 month ago, it stopped immediately. I’ve never had such a clear skin in my life 🌱 and I’m so thankful for this! ✨
    But I have one thing, that I don’t know how to handle or balance. I’m always struggling with my weight because I’m really skinny and I lost weight since I’m eating plant based.
    Do you have an advice for people like me, to gain a bit back or not loose more?
    Thank you so much, greetings from Germany

    Please can you do something on eating healthy and dental health? E.g. have you noticed any decline in your dental health since being vegan (due to smoothies and fruits etc)? I'm not vegan myself but I'm keen to find a good balance on general body health and dental health. For example my dentist told me to never snack on fruit and to only have it straight after a meal; I've known my whole life to have fruit on an empty stomach - I used to love it first thing in the morning but now I'm so wary. And I read something about smoothies, vinegar/ lemon juice on salads, etc to be damaging for teeth enamel... I would appreciate any helpful information on this.
    I've found some useful and new (to me) health information in your videos so thank you

    Hey Mona, I’m not vegan but I really enjoy eating these types of foods and generally prefer eating plant-based. However, I have one question. Apart from some natural foods you showed, aren’t most of these plant-based foods extremely processed? For example you mentioned that plant milks have gums in them that makes them last long and homemade ones only last a day. How on earth does the milk you show, if it doesn’t contain gum, last and doesn’t need refrigeration? I mean, I understand your point of view, but we should really think apart from animals, what we also put in our bellies. Just because it says organic, plant-based etc doesn’t imply healthy. To be honest I never eat something that sounds like something else, but isn’t, like a vegan sausage. I eat lentils, chickpeas, vegetables and grains in their natural form.

    • @Jemelave
      @Jemelave 5 років тому +1

      Homemade milks usually last about 5 days and are not very difficult to make! :) It does need to be refrigerated. To be honest, animals products are also extremely processed. For example, pink slime can now be considered ground beef.
      www.organicconsumers.org/news/us-government-says-pink-slime-can-now-be-called-ground-beef

    • @mariapap7268
      @mariapap7268 5 років тому +3

      @@Jemelave I also make my own nut milk, but it doesn't last outside of the fridge and also not more than 3 days due to water presence. How do you make yours last that long?Also, my point wasn't that animal products aren't processed, but that just as equally processed are the new age plant-based products that have become an industry. If we want to be honest and true about what we believe in, we should state the facts. Personally I prefer to make my own nutmilk, granola bar, bread etc rather than buy a "processed" healthy version.

    hmmm .. Pea protein is perhaps one of the better protein powders, true .. but really we don't need much protein .. and infact most people are getting way too much protein... be careful folks .. Mothers milk has about 6-7% of protein .. and that is a lot (enough for the baby to double its weight in 6 months .. so ooo) .. most vege's have slightly less protein percentage of weight wise which is ideal.. too much protein is not good for us, especially if that protein is not balanced with lots of micro's (nutrients) .. and IMO (and many other's) protein powders should never be used, its highly processed food source ... stick to food food .. the spiriluna has more available protein in it then the pea powder will have and its packed with micro's too. Macro's without Micro's will age us .. and lead to digestive issue's in the longer run... if you/we eat lots of real food full of micro's .. the macro's just take care of themselves. .. that's my bit :-)

    • @DrMonaVand
      @DrMonaVand  5 років тому +3

      Key Maker i very much agree! However, there are a lot of people who focus on protein, and whether or not i make this video they’ll turn to finding it somewhere. So may as well suggest the healthiest / cleanest forms of protein powder. I myself consume it maybe 1-2 times a week :)

    Thanks for the info. Some of these I already use, but others will begin. The soy eggs I simply cannot do. They taste so-so but smell disgusting. Being that everything seems to be Soy based, what is your suggestion for meat alternatives? Avoid the alternates? Second, have you heard of Stout Nutrition? www.stoutnutrition.com/pages/product-info.html. That link has a list on ingredients. What are your thoughts on that all in one protein powder?

  • @tunesgurl18

    i don't think almond flour is the best substitution, because when you think about it- almond flour is milled almonds (into flour obviously lol) but the serving of almonds we should eat per day is WAY smaller than the amount of almonds you serve when baking with almond flour.

    • @DrMonaVand
      @DrMonaVand  5 років тому +2

      Isabella Botero right but ... if you’re using regular flour, is that the serving of flour we should have? I think it depends on whatever else you’re eating :)

    • @tunesgurl18
      @tunesgurl18 5 років тому

    • @KeyMakers
      @KeyMakers 5 років тому +1

      @@angiesizzlepants .. yeah for sure .. gluten free is the way to go .. thanks for the recommendation .. now-a-days I stay away from wheat in general, in all its forms (after researching it) .. there really isn't any healthy wheat IMO .. I even eat rice based paster now.. but very seldom .. personally I think bread in general is a good thing to just drop from the diet altogether .. its processed .. its got cheap oils in it, preservatives etc .. its cooked .. I do have an organic sourdough wheat-free, gluten-free, dairy and soy free bread that I toast .. its v nice :-) .. but I still consider that as a treat and not such a healthy choice - often the foods that we eat with bread .. aren't great .. :-) .. high in macros (maybe) and low in micros (most likely).

    Not trying to be rude, but is is very misleading that you are repeatedly saying that certain foods have “no protein”. Bread and pasta have protein, vegetables have protein, complex carbs don’t make you fat... not “triggered”, I just want to make people aware that every food has protein, but you can eat a variety to make sure you are eating enough macro and micronutrients to meet your needs.
