This game store where I live was selling some bootleg sonic plushes, I ended up getting Silver because his tail was rigid and pointing between his legs. Needless to say, it looked a little... questionable.

Not only did Aplus make their mascot look almost exactly like Tails, they stole the artwork from Sonic X.
There was a carnival near where I live once, it had artwork of Mario that was copied from 3D world on a ride. Not even traced, just straight ripped.

My city has a large electronic billboard around the city centre that shows ads for local businesses and events. For a brief period of time, not too long ago, they had an ad for some kind of summer camp that involved golfing.
The ad featured front-and-centre official artwork of the golf girl for Rhythm Heaven Fever. Not even edited.
I tried to get a picture of it but sadly they took it down just a couple days after I first spotted it. Just look up Rhythm Heaven Golf and it’s the second image that comes up.

Back in the late '90s to early '00s, the Minnesota State Fair used to have a funhouse with an unauthorized Super Mario World theme, even including a slide which resembled one of the green pipes from the Mario series. Needless to say, it was my favorite attraction there when I was little.
I believe it still exists, but painted over with a generic jungle theme.
Ditto for Here in Florida.

@@SolomonFactor it was terrifying. It was a claustrophobic's worst nightmare. Well... For the first time. Im not claustrophobic but I thought I was trapped in there and started crying. Luckily this 10 year old girl started helping me get up the pipes (ladders) and down to the slide where this big bounce house like thingy was there so we don't hit the pavement. I wonder what she's doing today...

I saw a Planet PlayStation at an official event run by the BBC out of all things. The CBBC Summer Social festival to be exact. One of the presenters even pointed it out.

I’ve seen a funhouse similar to Planet PlayStation called “Nintendo Land”. It was just plastered all over with Mario renders along with a few sonic, DK, Avengers and minions ones. And inside it also had some really obscure characters including “wonder dog” from this obscure sega CD game which I think AVGN reviewed.
Cue Nintendo Land theme.
I remember seeing a van which had the name, Sonic Brakes on the back and sides with a Sonic X render Sonic running on each side. I was only 4 at the time, and I was shouting in my dad's car, SONIC!!!! SONIC!!!!!

These products/company logos/amusement rides are so jarring yet amusing. To think that somebody was hired to make the art, to which they would blatantly steal from something, and then a whole company team would approve the art and not one person had an issue with it or with using someone else's IP.

There used to be an unauthorised funhouse travelling German Fairs literally called "Super Mario World".
They got a seize and desist message from Nintendo and now it's called "Super Marci World" Or "Super Maji World". Not sure. They changed Mario's face to a very bad jewish or Nigel Thornberry caricature.

I think one of the greatest uses of Illegal and Unauthorised Bootlegs is Sonic's appearances in the Sonichu comics.
In Spain, where my grandparents live, there are many bootleg mario attractions and sonic plushies (which are officials for some reason) in a fair.

There's a city in Brazil called Curitiba. Back in 2012, I saw a small game store literally called "Sonic games", with sonic all over it. They surely did sell some official sonic stuff at least.
I once lived in a city with a Bar named Moe's. Never had drink as it was shut down back in 03. But it had Moe's face as the logo and all.
In the village I live in, there is a small advertisement of a propan-butan bottle company hanged on the fence in front of one of the houses.
It has a stolen Mario artwork with different colors and the company's logo instead of M on the cap.

yesterday i found some bootleg sonic figures that used mish-mashes of numerous sonic game, movie, and, even fan art, and it had super sonic in one of them with a broken head
I wondered why that funhouse seemed familiar, that same travelling amusement park came to my home town too once! Glad to see they're still about, I realy need to try going to it if it returns; I have a new reason to check out the funhouse! :D

It's not too outlandish, but a Go-Karting place near me named 'Full Throttle Raceway' offer a Super Mario themed party, in which costumes and theming based on Mario Kart are provided additionally with the standard children's karting party. Their official leaflets make no attempt to hide the fact that they're using Nintendo properties - they even have Mario's render ripped straight from Super Mario Run front and center on the cover. Their mascot also happens to unapologetically be The Stig from Top Gear, who is featured on most of their marketing and posters that are hung in the establishment.
That's the biggest local example that I have of a company using popular characters (presumably without liscence) in rather questionably legal ways.

Incorrect name aside, that toy is based on an actual fan character (who is ironically a fan interpenetration of an unused version of Sonic X's Super Sonic).
At my local fair, they have a dumbo ride with Disney characters on it and It plays Disney music.

While I don't go to funfairs, I've seen unauthorised use of lots of characters from the outside. One that almost always is there is a fricking Minion-and it's always the same art. Once, I saw some ride which had mostly Pixar characters, like Buzz Lightyear, Mike Wasowski, etc., and of course there was a fricking Minion right in the middle.
