This is the best in depth explanation I've found. As a newbie, I keep coming back and rewatching AM Custom Fab vids as I encounter new problems. You rock Brother. Thanks for posting these.
very good way to tell people to learn to control the arc first.. Im a 30 year arc welder, tig very little, on a OLD School Hobart tig100 machine. the welder is as big as a small car. just got this welder for my home shop.. your help to get me started on the settings really helped. my video on the 225x will be out in a few weeks.
I have the Prime Weld 225 coming in the male right now. I thought about getting the newer 325 unit, but it was a lot more & I don't really think I 'need' one that nice, I'm sure this one will be better for me for the money. Thanks for your videos.
Finally a pulse video for this machine. I've been waiting for you to make this video for a while. You do the best job of teaching out of anyone else I've watched.
now I have followed several who show their machines at 220v / 50Hz. But what are the advantages of a machine that is at 400v. which companies use when in all only shows 220v. tik. welder. I stand to have to buy my first machine. I live in Denmark.
Great Job teaching, You went out of your way to get your knowledge on UA-cam. I'm searching out for a good tig welder that isn't to expensive since I am not doing industrial work. PRIMEWELD TIG225X appears to fit what I do. thank you
I do have a same machine, great budget AC/DC Tig only wish they put better scale around knobs. Kind the hard to guess on some settings when working with aluminum or do pulsing ..
I've seen it suggested that you shoot photos of your happy settings for later reference. The 325 actually reads out on each and all of the settings as I understand it. No memory function as with Blue Red Green Yellow digitals, but I am thinking this may be simpler and better. More reliable? And less money.
Thank you so much.I have been tig welding for years. I learned with a ole scratch start machine I peace together. I then bought a miller transformer machine. I have no formal Training. I,m a machinist not a welder. I purchased a primeweld as yours about two years Ago. You have taught me more in this video than I knew in 30 years. I subscribed & can not thank you enough. You need to become a teacher.
Ok.. I'm new to this and I bought the prime weld 225x specifically to weld two 1/2" aluminum I beams together..I plated them, drilled and bolted them together..but I still want to weld the seam to make it solid and stronger. What's the best settings on the machine for 1/4 and 1/2 inch aluminum..??
225 is definitely going to be pushing it on half inch aluminum but to give yourself the best advantage I would do a couple of things. 1.make sure you have the water cooler because you're going to need all the amperage you can get and the ck-17 is only rated for 150 amps. 2. To make sure you have something that you can preheat your joint with whether it be a propane/map gas torch. Or an infrared heater. I would bring the joint up to around 300° plus before you start welding to give yourself the best advantage possible. 3. I would crank your amps all the way up. And drop your hz or frequency down a little bit somewhere probably around 60 . And turn your balance down a little bit too to wind up your puddle somewhere down around 60 as well. Good luck 😎🙏👊 and thanks for watching
Great explanation!! I can imagine how long a video could be to go further with examples, but it seems this will be an individual trial and error deal using the info you just gave us. Thank you!
That was great and informative... got to love the hands-on with lots of details and visuals... Here's a mistake, here's some solutions and other interesting tweaks... Cheers! To many more Blissful moments!
Nice you know a lot more than I did when I was your age. Thats just life the younger generation will always carry a bigger load than the last. Great video!👍
I was SCREWED! My new machine wouldn't pulse. I was sure hoping this was a quality machine but this one I got was a dud out of the box! SHIT! Whyyyy meeeee! Now to see how primeweld handles this!
@@amcustomfab They are excellent on customer care. Gene took care of my problem immediately, sending a replacement machine! Actually, my machine was not malfunctioning! There is a quirk in the setup that got me. I'll do a video after I figure it all out.
How low can you get your amperage in AC tig mode with your frequency all the way down? My machine won’t go less than 19 amps. This machine is advertised at 10amps?
Hi I’ve just found this video & I have to thank you for making it as I’ve recently got a machine the same but different names, mines made in Poland but all the controls are the same, now you’ve explained things so simply that even a 70 year old guy like myself can understand it, it brilliant manny thanks again 😀😀😀👍👍
I really like the way you use the blue to indicate which knobs are used and how to set them. Do you have some charts for each of them that I can print.. don't have internet at the shop. Thanks

Great video, clearly explained. So many 'how-to' welding videos are just a murky quick tutorial followed by a 'look how good I can weld' video.
Happy to help to the best of my ability thanks for watching and supporting the channel 😎.

Definitely on the list 👍😎

Thanks. Great vid.
Very informative.
Can you use 4T to start solid on the 1st push, then pulse on the 1st release, then back to steady then off? something like that?
Are you using the rode go ii mic? Sounds good man and the information is delivered nicely as well!
Zoom h1n with a cheep Amazon lavalier
@@amcustomfab well it sounds good man, nicely done 😁
Explained pretty well. i give you a.......B- take the rest of the day off.
Appreciate it always open to constructive criticism tell me what I missed so I can make it better next time 😎👊
i cant tell you how helpful this is having the same machine and being new to this...keep em coming!
Great explanation man.... your a natural teacher. I have the same welder...that helped me ALOT .... Thanks and keep them coming.
Forgot to tell you this!!! BEST PULSE EXPLANATION ON THE NET.... SIMPLE...TO THE POINT.....AND EFFECTIVE

Thanks for the content I have this machine and your videos help for sure in my journey of learning how to tig.
Perfect timing. I had messaged you on IG about thin sheet metal welding.
This young guy does a great job on this video . Well explained and great learning tool .
Thanks for the explanation. Well laid out.
Does that Primewell give a digital read out when adjusting any other parameter other than peak amps?
Nope amperage is the only thing shown on the readout with this model
@@amcustomfab Thanks for the reply. That was a very well thought out presentation. Kudos
Thanks appreciate it 😎
Yeah. It would be nice if the digital readout showed value of the knob you're moving

Time for practicing! 👍

Pulse duty. Couldn’t figure out how to adjust my time on high or low amp per pulse cycle. My day just got infinitely better. 🔥

I think the 10 amps is DC only AC startup is a little higher

Great explanation
