    My previous TIG machine was air cooled.....I vowed that my next machine would be water cooled. Now I have a 225x and Max Cool 3000 - it is a great setup.

    Idk how long it’s been out there but congrats on being a weld coach instructor. Pretty high praise getting the stamp of approval from Justin.
    Thanks for the review on the machine. I definitely wish I had gone primweld

      @@amcustomfab It's funny Alex, I have every upgrade you got there . I got my 225acdcp about 2 years ago come February, got the stubby lens stuff about a month or two after that, and about four to six months after that got the maxcool and WOW that was an upgrade . Welded so much I went to a 250 bottle lol . Oh, and sometime in there I got a brass ground clamp . I love my welder and would recommend Primeweld to anyone (and have) . Oh, and Gene was/is (if he's still there, been awhile) a great rep for the company too . I don't think there's a bad side to this great company . :)

    I would like to see just s short video that you assess the stick welding performance of the 325 more thoroughly. You kind of touched on it in your review, but a quick follow-up on the stick performance would be appreciated.

    Great job on the information. Same addition I did to my setup i was looking for a 300+ amp welder for all of the 5\8 aluminum I was welding added the cooler and the flex-loc torch solved all the problems I had. Don't get me wrong I'll probably be upgrading to the 325x in the future I'm still unsure of the micro processer of the machine always have trouble with computers big fan of analog. Haven't had any troubles out of my 225x and might run until it gives up on me.

      I'm an analog guy too, a little fidgety with digital . To me the knobs are all I want . :)

      @@user-kh2yl6nn3l I'm the same kinda leery of micro processor managing the operating system in the welder. Who is to say that the HF starts are not going to shorten the life of the processor board???? They tell you when welding on a car to remove the negative connection off the battery so you don't short out the computer????🤔🤔🤔🤔 I've been using analog welders since going through votec school in 1992 some of welders I learned on are still at the school today Miller syncrowave.

      I'm sure they're alright, but like you, I don't want to replace mother boards and that stuff . I've been welding for a long time (since the 70's) just not TIG (that's only been a little over a year and a half . I always wanted to, but back when it was heli arc and 60 cycle it was out of my price range ... Way out . lol And then Primeweld came along ... :)@@danielsplayhouse3804

    Don't forget MIG welding that water cooler will work with MIG welding they make water cooled MIG welding torches too so if you wanted to put a water-cooled gun on a 300 amp machine-like for aluminum because aluminum takes a lot more heat you can do that Harbor Freight has some consumables for TIG welding I even think I saw a stubby lens kit don't know if they sell tungsten but I pretty sure I saw kit for TIG welding with a short back cap

    Thanks for the video, What do you think about upgrading to a ck26 torch for the 200+ amp welding? Is that a good idea?

    😪 I bought my 225x before they started putting an outlet on the back for the water cooler, though I suppose it isn't strictly necessary. Just have to remember to turn on the pump before pressing the pedal. Being just a hobbyist I doubt I'll miss it. Thanks for the other suggestions though. Really appreciate your videos.

    I've been trying to find a thumb controlled rotary switch to control amperage instead of the foot pedal and can't seem to find one that fits the tig225. Would you be able to point me in the right direction? TIA

    • @amcustomfab
      @amcustomfab  8 місяців тому +3

      6061.com has one. Have not tried it yet, but it's a button that the harder you push the more amperage you get out of it. I've not personally tried it, but I've heard good things

      @@amcustomfabthe one Alex is referring to is called TIG button. I have one, works great, way easier than operating a rheostat mounted on the torch.

    The Primeweld cooler doesn't work on 220V, so the specs in the webshop are wrong. It says it works on all welders!

    • @amcustomfab
      @amcustomfab  9 місяців тому

      I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's dual voltage unless you have an older model that doesn't plug into the back of the machine

    • @qivarebil2149
      @qivarebil2149 9 місяців тому

      @@amcustomfab I'm talking about the ones they sell now. Their specs say 110 V only. My 225X is the newest version.

    • @amcustomfab
      @amcustomfab  9 місяців тому +1

      That pushes it pretty close to the max. Yeah if you have the newer ones even if you have the machine plugged into 220 it will automatically convert it for the water cooler plug

    • @user-kh2yl6nn3l
      @user-kh2yl6nn3l 9 місяців тому

      Yep, it automatically reduces the voltage at the plug to 110 volts if you're running on 220volts . And it's flawless . :)@@amcustomfab
