i joined his website and my welds are phenomenal !! It is very simple as long as you follow his directions to the letter. One 5tip i will give anyone is you must be in a comfortable position to do great welds. Once i achieved this my welds are 90% like his. Also ditch the pedal and get the tig button, its a back saver !!!

On thick to thinner aluminum such as 1/2" to 3/16" or 5/8" to 1/4" I often throw the thicker part on a hot plate for a little while if I'm stuck using a 250 amp machine.

I'm running a 225x with the watercooler and flex-loc water-cooled torch with welding aluminum I've been running mine at 200hz for welding turbo tubes and anything up to 1/8 thickness I find it easier to get in there and get it done before I heat it up to much. Would that something like you would do? Or am I looking at possible failures in my welds? Thanks for the update and great content enjoy your channel always good info... 😊😊😊
I have to do a test for a qualification at work. It’s an aluminum fillet. 6x6 .060 base plate to a .025 top plate. No burn through or suck back permitted and lack of fusion in the root can’t be greater than .003. If you can do a video on that and how you’d weld it that’d be great 😂
Always try to weld in a well ventilated area with fresh air. If that's not an option, there are expensive welding hood systems available with a fresh air supply. I have an exhaust fan in my shop that pulls air/smoke out above my welding table. I crack the window at the end of my shop to let in fresh air.

6061....building big doors where i work....4043.......print called out plug welds....you should make a video about getting correct penetration while performing a plug weld.
I will guarantee that the $45 will give you more education than any other welding training you could possibly get from UA-cam. My investment in the training, time and materials allowed me to make 500x in my first 6 months. Trust me when I say it made me very very good with aluminum welding projects.
I have the same welder and have done a fillet in the past and could not get a puddle to form. I tried pre heating and just heat soaking, went up in tungsten size, tried different grind angles, different cup sizes, adjusting frequency, ac balance, Nothing seemed to work. It was an 8ft piece of 3/8 aluminum angle that i was welding a piece of 1/4 flat bar to. Couldn't puddle on the angle to save my life...

@@6061 we use 2091 filters for a 3m mask since our company cannot afford expensive hoods.
