    The Sonos Playbase does look pretty awesome I must admit, And I know from experience that Sonos make without question fantastic quality speaker systems with very crisp sound, great clarity and plenty of base..... My only issue with this Playbase is it's designed to sit under the stand of your Tv..... But my Samsung Tv doesn't have that usual boring stand most Tv's would have it's got a more I guess aerodynamical stand & not really sure if this Playbase would fit in between the stand.....

    I was going to buy one but it only last 10 years. My Sony products are 25 years old and still work perfectly.

    So is this supposed to be paired with a stereo setup with Sonos 1 and a sub? Or is it just supposed to play solo? How does it correspond with satellite speakers for 5:1? Does it emulate surround, so it becomes "pretend surround"? How does anything play autentic 5:1 if it's no surround decoder there? These speakers raises alot of legit questions.

    what kind of glas or plexiglass bases are to see in the viedeo. Are they special for a playbase? And possible to buy?

    I just purchased a Playbase with 2 play 1s and a sub running on my LG Oled 65" The system packs a great punch, The downfall the only option is Optical, if i purchase a Optical coverter to HDMi and converted Optical to HDMi threw my ARC will that enhance the sound quality?

    This thing is obsolete at launch. No HDMI no Dolby and most importantly, it is fugly. It just doesn't have a place in today's sleek looking TVs.

      it wasn't just the sound bar. the wireless sub 2 satellite speakers were included too. Sounds damn good too lol

    @Muffin_Man177 7 років тому +1

    Meh, I'd rather have a dedicated 5.1/7.1 system. Sound bars are the gaming headsets of home theater, just total gimmicks with simulated surround sound.

    Sonos needs to go Dolby Atmos compatibile and get rid of that optical input and go HDMI....this is 👎

    • @danm4320
      @danm4320 7 років тому +6

      P Linton HDMI is a very unreliable way of getting sound. Especially with copyright material

    • @PL876

      Dan Moran hmm so would optical be able to pass Dolby Atmos? or is it just a hardware thing?

      P Linton it can do Dolby atoms but it depends on the speaker

    The audio quality of Sonos speakers are great but it seems to be overpriced. Wi-Fi only dependant connection disconnected randomly here & there. Such a hassle. There is no Bluetooth & NFC. Some models doesn't even have a standard 3.5mm audio input. The Sonos app is utterly piece of crap. The app only allows users to play music files from mobile devices & certain audio online streaming services. You can't even play from downloaded videos & not even from UA-cam. What gives Sonos?

      GHAZI KENNY NFC speaker lol, try sending uncompressed lossless over Bluetooth, I have a 2nd gen play 5 in the living room and $3800 worth of NAD and Klipsch in my media room. No wifi issues on the play 5 at all. Sounds like wifi dead zones in your house. Besides all sonos can be hard wired with Ethernet. This is a network speaker company not a Bluetooth speaker company

    • @ghazikenny
      @ghazikenny 7 років тому +1

      RevToTheRedline For the asking price it's sure handy to have an optional Bluetooth connectivity. It doesn't cost that much with an added functionality. I prefer to use the speakers over Bluetooth without the damn app. The sonos app sucks. Period.

      Even with only certain mobile apps currently working with the Sonos system, is it safe to say that ALL Smart TV apps (like UA-cam) will work?

  • @EMILBOBBY

    This is a joke just like the app. Sonos is the most overrated soundsystem on Earth.

      The app is not all that bad. I have a couple of play 1's and a pair of dynaudio emit m10's to be honest, the play 1's are a fraction of the cost and sound pretty much as good as the Dyn's.
