I got a ticket going westbound out of Columbus a few years ago. The cop said he clocked me at 92 MPH! I said no friggin way was that correct. He told me that they calculated my speed from a overhead airplane. I laughed out loud. I said how? Timing me between two markers? He said yes. I said no way. I'll see you in court. The pilot cop showed up for the court hearing and I won! Ha ha ha.
Sure ya did
@@AldoSchmedack I hired an attorney. But I won. Ha HA.
What a joke. That plane with all its equipment probably costs over $3 million.
They CAN do all of those things, but they will be writing speeding tickets 90% of the time. Have fun Ohio drivers.
"Even got a bear in the air" Ten-4
I can only use it for search and rescue or high-speed chases stuff like that cuz the other night you can't use it for speeding tickets because that's entrapment I know that for a fact because I fought one of those plane tickets and won cuz it is considered entrapment
You don't seem very clear about what constitutes entrapment, which is enticing someone to do something they would not normally do on their own. Air speed checks are NOT entrapment.
More money wasted on victimless crimes. Cool.
all about taking someone;s money nothing about safety at all
and the money they do make will be spent on court cases against the cops for not knowing the law and getting sued for $$$$$$$
How does it save 100s of $? I am sure the cost for installation and software makes balances out.
News is so cringe these days. Exaggerating constantly. Officer claims less manpower...well that manpower moves to other areas... it doesn't save money. Like buying a new lightbulb to see in the dark better isnt going to save you fuel costs.
I love the OSP.. I think they are the best in the country.. but this news article is a waste of time.
Lmao. What a wonderful use of tax dollars.
Better than CA following em for 6hrs filming a whole movie
So let’s focus even more taxpayer money on speed enforcement… why don’t they just change their name to the Ohio Revenue Generation Department?
I hope they don't have an air dog! Shewwee!
lol 😊
Talk about a police state in Ohio. Glad I don't live there
We got all the gunz tho🤙
So you prefer fewer cops like in California for commiting crimes? 🤔
I'm all about supporting our law enforcement but this is an overreach...
Sure, the intentions are good... Afterall, enforcing traffic safety is the primary function of the OSHP
But this power in the wrong hands is scary. (I recently experienced this...)
"We can follow the suspect back to their house and arrest them in their front yard."
Big brother is always watching...
Listen to your hypocrisy, you don't know how much those aircraft cost? North of a million secondhand. BS....
My prayers go out to all law enforcement officers across ohio and our country that thay will be safe as they work to keep us safe god bless the ohio state highway patrol.
