You are welcome Allen! Keep in mind the stripper on our AIO crimp tool works with 6.00 to 8.00mm cable jacket diameters. Outside of those boundaries, you will require a manually adjustable stripper like our Cut & Strip Tool.

I'm so happy you guys literally just got these back in stock. I'm on a business trip to the US and I was able to order one to my hotel. I really wanted this particular one because of the good looking stripper and the shielded jack crimper. Finding a good stripper that only scores and doesn't fully cut isn't easy these days.
Hello again BrownR87! Yup, the AIO RJ45 crimper is back in stock. The stripper on it is EXCELLENT. The caveat is you must be using 6.00mm to 8.00mm OD cable for it to function right, but inside that range it is unbeatable. In addition, our AIO crimper has been specifically tweaked to work with our Cat6/6A Shielded External Ground Plug, so the AIO crimper is practically required if you have no alternative but to use that plug for certain MPTL runs as opposed to a shielded field termination plug.
Truly professional tool that makes me wait for a month to reach Iraq in order to play with it, ^_^.

My friend and I just finished a job where he had this tool, and I had a tool from “a competitor”. My tool kept scoring too deep and I’d have issues when my terminations were tested. I ended up borrowing this tool from him to strip my cables, before finishing the terminations with my tool. Pretty embarrassing for me. I will be purchasing this tool ASAP.

Hello! Thanks for the kudos, and we are glad you like the content. As to your question, it really depends on the Cat8 cable and connector. It has more to do with the connector than anything else. If the 8P8C connector is industry standard in design, then said connector should be fine, assuming it will fit your cable. There is no such thing as a Category rating on an 8P8C connector, as it is purely a mechanical attachment. That said if the Cat8 cable in question is too large in diameter to accept any 8P8C modular plug, neither our nor any other standard crimp and termination tool will work. One final thought is the idea of putting an 8P8C connector onto Cat8 rated cable at all: That is a bad idea. Cat8 cable, if used as intended, is designed to carry 25/40Gbps data to 98 feet. The terminations would be a very critical and sensitive part of this, and 8P8C modular plugs (that have been hand terminated) are the least reliable and performant choice. For Cat8 (and arguably Cat6A as well in most cases), you would want to use IDC style terminations exclusively (keystone jacks, patch panels, or field termination plugs). IDC terminations are Category-rated, and you would want to use the matching Category-rated IDC terminations for that purpose.
I'm curious! Was that an S/FTP for your shielded crimp demo? I noticed there was no drain wire or tape folded back along the jacket. Would you say it does a good job crimping F/UTP as well?
Another great question! In this demonstration, U/UTP cable was being used with unshielded plugs. Our All In One RJ45 Crimp & Termination Tool also handles large inside diameter shielded plugs and shielded cable without issues. In fact, if the 8P8C plug you are using doesn't have the provision for the strain latch presser bar (and some don't) then you can lower it so it does not engage and crush the rear of the plug.
Also, one more question: Would this crimper be good for non-pass-thru connectors as well? Klein tool users report that their crimpers shave off a thin slice of plastic off the edge of traditional connectors. Is that likely to happen with these, and if so, is there a way to adjust the pass-thru slicer so that it won't?
Great question! Our All in One RJ45 Crimp & Termination Tool works equally well with passthrough and non passthrough RJ45 8P8C plugs. The trick is the amount of inward force being applied when crimping the plug to avoid shaving off plastic. Insert the RJ45 8P8C plug fully into the tool and begin to close the tool handle so that the strain latch presser bar engages into the rear of the plug. The plug will be locked into the correct position. Take your hand off the cable/plug and do not use any additional force to hold it in the crimp cavity and then complete the crimp cycle. You should not have any plastic shaven off. Now, in extreme cases where a plug is slightly out of spec it might be necessary to remove the flush cut blade and that will eliminate the problem altogether, but this is a unlikely scenario.

One more one more question, hehe. :) What's the purpose of click-style ratcheting on a crimper? This doesn't have one, but yet it seems to work just as well as other brands that do, so why do some crimpers do and some don't? Is that just an artifact leftover from coax or telephony days or is there a useful purpose? Seems you thought of everything else when designing this tool, so I thought it odd that it would be missing that one feature. Thanks!
Hello and thanks for your question. You are correct, the ratchet mechanism is a left over and quite frankly completely unnecessary. That type of mechanism also adds another potential point of failure to the tool. There are manufacturers that sell the ratchet style crimpers most likely out of habit, rather than higher performance. Ratcheting crimpers are good if you don't have the strength to finish a crimp with one hand. You can start the crimp, re-adjust your hands, and finish the crimp with both hands. This is relevant for heavy steel crimps for large electrical work, I expect anyone could crimp an rj45 with one hand so it would probably be redundant here. Anecdotally, I have a minifit jr crimper that ratchets and it's more annoying than helpful because sometimes it catches when you don't want it to, etc.

Can i use rj45 plugs from other brands
Hello! Great question. Technically, yes you can. That said, we cannot speak for other manufacturer's tolerances or proprietary features/differences so proceed with caution and do some testing on scrap cable prior to any serious installation.
Sorry for my ignorance but whats the difference between crimping and terminating?
Don't be sorry! The only foolish question is the one that goes unasked. The terms "crimp" and "terminate" are often interchanged and confused. Termination is the establishment of an electrical path from the conductors of your cable to the termination hardware (in this case, the golden contacts of the RJ45 plug itself). The golden contact prongs are pushed into the conductor wires. Crimping is a mechanical joining of two things, typically using compression with force. That would be what happens when the strain latch in the rear of the RJ45 gets pushed into the cable jacket at the rear of the RJ45 plug during the crimping/termination process so the cable cannot accidentally pull out. So, in effect, a "RJ45 crimp tool" is actually doing two things...terminating AND crimping at the same time.

No sir, it does not do RJ11. Given the number of features integrated into our RJ45 All In One Crimp and Termination Tool there was no longer room to accommodate that.
Unfortuanely it does not strip Cat5E
Hello! That is not technically accurate. It WILL strip Cat5e assuming the Cat5e is 6.00 to 8.00mm in OD. Most standard indoor-grade Cat5e (especially U/UTP 24AWG) does not meet the minimum, but most outdoor and direct burial Cat5e Ethernet does, however. We have our Cut & Strip tool with an adjustable strip depth wheel for cable that falls outside of the two extremes.

I fully understand. Different strokes for different folks. Passthrough 8P8Cs have their place, and as long as they properly fit to the cable you are using they can be a great time saver.
