    Terminating was extremely fast. I'll be honest I don't have as good of a physical grip anymore and in the past, its taken me 20-45 min to do 1 rj45. This took 5-10 min tops. I'm using better cable that I normally was which also aided in it! Thank you for the tools and video walk through!

      @@kristopherleslie8343 Hey Kristopher! I am glad your installation went well. We do offer a Cat6/6A unshielded "standard" load bar 8P8C (aka RJ45) connector. It is designed to fit all of our Cat6 unshielded SKUs, and will likely fit other manufacturer's cable as well, assuming you match the specs of the cable with the plug and they are within tolerance of each other. I caution against buying plugs "just because" unless you are exclusively buying trueCABLE brand cable since fitment is so critical to performance. Category is NOT relevant to plug selection. Fitment is.

      @@trueCABLE i feel like I should have added - the two features that, to me, sets this crimper apart from many others is the shielding crimp part (it would be nice to future proof my crimpers for when I delve into shielded cable), and the stripper. It's been a long time since I found someone/a product that understands that you should be *scoring* the cable not cutting all the way through and risking nicking it.

    I've never tried pass through before, although I did try load bars last week and I'll never know how I made good cables without them. They get the jacket almost all of the way up to the teeth. Good stuff.

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  3 роки тому +1

      Hello! Load bar RJ45 8P8C plugs are great to work with as well, assuming they have been properly designed. The pass through style is typically the easier of the two, although, pass through plugs are more prone to fitment related performance issues, and they have to be carefully selected and tested. Thanks for watching!

    What determines when an extra-large Cat 6a connector would be used?
    Which is preferred for residential use: shielded or unshielded Cat 6a?
    Appreciated the video; clear, concise. Wish the background was a different color for better viewing.

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  2 роки тому

      Hello dc. The unshielded XL Cat6A pass through plug would be used for certain trueCABLE products that have a very thick insulated conductor...namely our unshielded Cat6A Plenum cable. It comes down to fitment in the decision process for plug selection. Unshielded Ethernet cable should be used for ANY install (commercial or residential) unless you know you need shielded. Shielded is designed to prevent performance degradation due to environmental EMI/RFI. Shielded cable is not "better" per se. In fact, shielded cable is considerably more difficult to install and costs more due to the required shielded termination hardware. Thanks for the feedback on the background! We will see what can do.

    Hi, can we use CAT6A Cable on Cat6 Keystone and connector ?

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  8 місяців тому

      It depends. Some Cat6A cable is made with conductors with insulation that is too big in diameter to fit some Cat6 jacks. However, if the wire fits, the jack will work, but you will be limited to Cat6 levels of performance.

    What are your thoughts on using pass through connectors in POE use cases? Iv seen alot of mixed feelings on the subject online.

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  2 роки тому +1

      Hello! Pass through connectors are not an issue with PoE as long as they are properly flush cut at the end of the crimp cycle and the insulated conductors are properly fit to the cable to begin with. Many people who have had trouble with pass through RJ45 8P8C connector plugs typically had a plug that was too loose or improperly terminated and this led to the issues they had, not the fact the plug was pass through. That all said, terminating RJ45 8P8C connector plugs onto solid copper Ethernet cable is not and never will be ideal regardless of whether they are pass-through or not. Fitment is ultra-critical and there are too many things that can go wrong. The best way is to use field termination plugs for male ends terminated in the field as they are far less sensitive to fitment. Alternatively, the "rack to jack" approach in addition to factory-made pre-terminated patch cords to complete the channel is another good method. We hope this helps and please let us know if you have any further questions!

    I am enjoying your trueCABLE videos, and I have a question. Do I need to make sure I use CAT6A connectors on just CAT6A cable or can I use it on CAT 6 cable also? Do I need to use only CAT6A connectors on CAT6A cable or can I use CAT6A connectors on CAT6 cable, does it always have to be matched or can I just buy a big bag of CAT6A connectors and keystones and use that for both CAT6A and CAT6? I must have been able to word that better but I hope you know what I mean?

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  Рік тому +1

      Hello Jim! I know exactly what you mean and what you are asking. Don't get hung up on Category when it comes to RJ45 8P8C plugs. They don't have a Category, technically. The thing with selecting the proper RJ45 8P8C connector is fitment. The cable in question (regardless of Category) needs to be matched to the plug, with two dimensions being critical: Insulated conductor diameter (copper + insulation) and overall jacket diameter (jacket OD, or cable thickness). I recommend going to our Cable Academy and looking up the blog titled "Selecting the Correct RJ45 Connector".

    • @jimholloway1785
      @jimholloway1785 Рік тому

      @@trueCABLE I found the Cable Academy and I found the blog, my next question is going to be the punchdown keystones and the same question do I need to match the category to the keystone and cable(not talking about shielded or unshielded yet. I will look and see if I can find a blog keyed to selecting the correct keystone connector.

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  Рік тому +1

      @@jimholloway1785 Hello Jim. In the case of keystone jacks, yes, the Category does matter there. For the cable in question you must use the same Category or higher rated Category keystone jack.

    Why don't u use the non- pass through RJ45? It's too practical

    • @trueCABLE
      @trueCABLE  24 дні тому

      Hello! We offer pass-through and load bar-style plugs when it is absolutely necessary to terminate an 8P8C (aka RJ45) plug onto solid copper Ethernet. Both are equally good when used with Cat6 straight-across terminations operating at 250MHz, but the preference goes to load bar *staggered* non pass-through plugs for Cat6A 500MHz terminations. That all said, the fitment of the plug to the cable is the most critical factor, and some plugs are better suited to certain cable SKUs. It is on a case-by-case basis.
