    !! I cannot express enough my gratitude for how you’ve designed this series, the rewinds, angles, explanations for hand placement, examples of good/bad posture, simple ways to string new moves together…your hard work, the editing, the voiceover EVERYTHING is golden. Thank you

    Um... maybe bc I am old, yet I am also a very strong roller skater, but I can't do the floor pirouette yet, nor the diamond. But I am so grateful. I got the dip spin right away and the standing pirouette! Thank you so much. Looking forward to accomplishing all these moves in time while strengthening my arms. What a gift these videos are. Thank you, Poletato!

      Hi Steph! hahahah dw about age! I have a 40+ year old woman in my class and she is by far one of the most solid tricksters I've seen 😂
      that's so cool you roller skate! I loved roller skating in the house growing up!
      It sounds like you've got some great motor planning skills to be able to get the pirouette and dip spin!
      Are you finding it's the balance or more so getting the sequence/timing of the moves that makes the diamond spin/floor pirouette tricky?

    Very very very very good video!!! The "100 times" showing the same, is all I needed... Most videos of pole dance for beginners are showing 2 times the same, and it's too fast. Your video helps me A LOT. THANKS!

    I think this is super important as a lot of beginner pole move videos I would watch when I was starting out were anything but. And now that I'm more intermediate I've found a wonderful appreciation for the simpler moves, especially in choreo! Always love your videos :)

      Yeah!! I'm similar to you in that I have been going back to earlier moves and actually enjoying them! At first, I was trying to rush through everything so quickly and I didn't spend time enjoying what I know. Thank you for always sending lovely comments here 💗

      Hello Marta! Thank you for dropping by and leaving a lovely comment! 💗 One thing I've been hearing a lot from other beginners is that they are also finding this sport challenging. I am glad you are enjoying it though! This is so important to keep going with this difficult sport.
      What kind of things are you finding tricky right now?

    I had my first pole class last night. The instructor had us move pretty fast. We went from engaging the muscles to climbing and spins. I'm glad you made these videos! I'm currently too weak to climb or do most spins.

    • @PoletatoJemPoleDancer
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I know what you mean, some of the moves in my other vids are not the best introductory moves either! Once you've been poling for some time, it's easy to forget what absolute beginner friendly moves are! It actually feels harder to come up with beginner friendly moves! I'm excited to find and teach more for you all ❤️

    I just started yesterday and I have watched a few videos but your videos are by far the absolute best for beginners I love how you show the step more then once and slow everything down.. I used to be a dancer and was super flexible but that was when I was a teenager I didn’t realize how out of shape I really have become. I’m not as flexible as I once was.. I’m having a bit of trouble with learning the pirouette, but hopefully with time I’ll get it pretty easy.

      Hi Lilian! For Part 2 I will be showing both left and right sides of the mini combo but it won't be with a voice over :( Do you know how to play UA-cam videos at a slower speed to follow along?
      The good news is I plan to make videos where I am speaking while demonstrating so I can get more videos out to your guys (the voice over method can be a much longer process to edit!). Hopefully you'll like this new style to come :D

      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому

      @@sunjawinter9173 hahaha, once you feel yourself getting stronger by doing more simple pole moves and strengthening off the pole too, you can try moves where you are holding more of your body weight with the help of your legs/ other body parts too :) I would say doing spins with just your arms would come after that.

    Can you make a video on the details of your pole? Why you chose that material? Is it brass or gold? How’s the grip? Do you prefer it to chrome? What kind of pole is it?

    • @PoletatoJemPoleDancer
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому

      Hi Makaela! I might be able to answer your questions much faster on here 😀
      1) Pole finish
      I chose a brass pole because I find them to be much more grippier. They say brass can be good in more humid climates. You'll find some countries tend to preference a pole finish over the other. Most people I know like the brass pole for its grip. The only other pole we have at the studio is a chrome pole which makes you slide much more easily. But the funny thing is, different people have different skin and that means some grip better to chrome!! If you can try both, I highly recommend to before you purchase one for home.
      I also figured, since my studio has brass poles, I may as well practise on the same ones so I can more easily transfer moves between home and the studio.
      2) Size
      I go for a 40mm because my hand can fit better around this smaller size. It really depends on your hand size! The larger ones feel too scary to get a good grip on for me!
      3) My pole
      I have an X-pert Complete Set (NX) Spinning X-pole (brass 40mm) - it can also be changed to static. X-pole is a really good brand with safe and high quality poles. I wouldn't go for any less with equipment which will be holding my entire body weight!
      This is the exact pole I have (bought in Australia) bit.ly/33Ly91c
      Where are you based?
      If you are in the US, this is the closest pole to mine I could find:
      XPERT Pro PX (spinning and static) xpoleus.com/shop-all/poles/xpert-pro/xpert-pro-px/affiliate/poletatojempoledancer/
      (note: this is an affiliate link I have with XPole US)
      Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer 😊

    What is your advice in knee pads? What can you recomend?

    • @PoletatoJemPoleDancer
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  Рік тому +1

      These ones are from Lunalae. The padding is thick so very comfy! They have sticky dots on them so you can pole with them. I got a medium but thinking should’ve gotten small because they are sliding down sometimes!! There’s ones without as much padding which people use because they can look more discreet

I appreciate your videos because you’re the only one who break the moves completely down.. I need a lot of work I’m not in shape I’ve gain so many pounds so lifting myself have been a challenge thank you for taking the time to do this

    • @PoletatoJemPoleDancer
      @PoletatoJemPoleDancer  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Morgan! I can relate so much to the frustration of pole! I can't believe how hard it is to try and do moves without some guidance.
      Pole is frustrating for so many reasons including the pain! (trust me, if it's skin pain you're referring to, it gets better!)
      It's totally okay and 100% recommended to take it slow! I've been reading this book www.thepolept.com/product/the-book/ and Neola talks about how important it is to get your body ready for the extremely challenging moves of pole by first strengthening off the pole. You might find you are a lot more stronger and ready to then do moves on the pole.
      There are other things that can help like using grip for the hands and/or the body if you are a slider like me :)
