  • Alien scientists on the frontier world of Ka'Tara unearth an ancient data-archive revealing astounding manipulations in human DNA. This genetic tampering predates galactic recorded history, pointing to an elusive, hyper-advanced benefactor. As the discovery reverberates through the galactic scientific community, humans themselves face an identity crisis while powers maneuver to leverage or suppress the truth. Meanwhile, dormant sequences in human DNA begin to mysteriously reactivate, awakening abilities long thought impossible.

@@RichardStrong86 I am probably using a too esoteric and perhaps little understood property of pi, the distribution of digits is thought to be random. My point is if that were not true, that the digits ceased being a random distribution at some unthinkably large number of decimal places, then the numbers thereafter could indeed represent information.
Information available only to those species sufficiently advanced to be able to calculate pi to that number of decimal places.

you might like the novel series Pip & Flinx Adventures. probably not the first book called for love of mother-not (as it stays entirely on the planet moth and the stakes are lower) rather the later books like the The Tar-Aiym Krang, Orphan Star, maybe even Bloodhype (Pip and Flinx play a sort of side character roll in bloodhype though they if you know the series then you pick up that Flinx is playing an unspoken role in the background maybe even manipulating some events)

@@davidnewland2556Awesome, David. And I know the feeling. In the 1970s, I had a story idea involving planetary atmospheres and terraforming. To understand more about how that works, I needed to know calculus. The first 2 books I bought on calculus were for beginners, but they were *_horrible._* They were written for math PhDs!!! ...but for first year students. Some mathematicians are horrible at interpersonal skills (communication, teaching). Then, I found a book called, *_Calculus Made Easy._* This was during the early 1980s, when there were dozens of "Made Easy" books on the market. However, I was shocked when I saw that the book was first published in 1910. And it had been republished over a dozen times even then. That book was excellent. Written by an engineer who knew, even then, that mathematicians were lousy at communication.
I was a self-taught computer programmer and software engineer. Even though I later got a college degree, I learned far more *_before_* college, on my own with carefully selected books. I suspect you could easily find a book to give you an easy overview of the topic, and from there use the correct ideas to weave your backstory.
      Hope this helps.
And if you're interested, you can find some of my fiction for free at TharsisHighlands [dot] WordPress [dot] com. Look for the "free" link near the bottom.

@@DarkHorseSki It is foolish to assume there would be any equivalent in among aliens.
