So glad you made a video about Prometheus! I remember reading his bio in Arkham Asylum, and always found him interesting- not to mention his outfit is kinda drippy
@kendi5391 ah good point point about it not being DC. He is a photo negative of batman though. From appearance and moral alignment. He is sane ruthless and cunning...not quite insane like carnage or moon knight
I personally believe the best and true anti-batman character from DC is Wrath. He is really cool and Batman's exact opposite despite being very similar. I also love in The Batman 2004 show he has his own equivalent to Robin
The baton is, strangely, one of the main reasons why I have trouble reconciliating my man Prometheus with the Big Bad from *Arrow* season 5... Don't get me wrong, that season was awesome, and seeing Vigilante in live action was a dream come true. But seriously, how hard would have it been to give the Arrowverse Prometheus his tonfa instead of a chokuto, and have him rocking that sweet mask/helmet at the top right of that concept art drawing, instead of giving him basically the same mask as fellow season 5 newcommer, Rory "Ragman" Regan...? Those 2 things could have at least made a physical connection between the real Prometheus and his Arrowverse adaptation, because sadly we got nothing. When it comes to catching up with Green Arrow that quickly, I was thinking that he could have done the same thing that future villain-of-the-week, "Chimera" (possibly one of the 2 Arrow original characters inspired by Onomatopoeia; he's even named Kevin Meltzer, from Kevin Smith, who created Onomatopoeia, and Brad Meltzer, one of Smith's 2 main artists while he was writing for "Green Arrow"... and he mainly targets non-powered vigilantes and steal their masks, like Onomatopoeia did, and Damian Darhk also did in "Legends of Tomorrow" ) from season 7, who stole a Wayne Entreprise prototype exoskeleton to be able to take on his preys. Had the show Prometheus got that mask, that tonfa, and if his training with Talia was made more efficient with the use of technology, aka the Wayne Exoskeleton, then I would have been so happy... Oh well, at least we got a kickass Vigilante from that season, even if he wasn't named Adrian Chase and the whole thing was a twist to keep even the hardcore fans on their toes, like they did with season 1 in which either Malcolm or Tommy Merlyn could have been the Dark Archer, since for the first time ever, Tommy was now the Dark Archer in the new Green Arrow origin story from the New52 (both Tommy as the Dark Archer & Arrow season 1 happened in late 2012, so the first season's Big Bad could have been the dad or the son, so comic book fans didn't have an advantage on regular show watchers) Okay, rant over, sorry for hijacking your thread ^^
I'll be honest, I am not really the biggest fan of Prometheus. I don't know; I just never got into the character, even despite reading about his origin and the potential of the character, I do feel like characters like Owlman, Ghostmaker or Warith (specifically THe Batman 2004 version) felt more unique takes on an "Anti-Batman", at least to me. Then again, I think the character of Prometheus has potential as a villain. I think he works better as an Anti-Green Arrow villain than an Anti-Batman villain and his anti-cop/authoritarian motivation, which I think can be explored more interestingly. We could see the character get more recognition in future adaptations. Regardless of my mixed feelings about the character of Prometheus, I think Prometheus is a better Anti-Batman than The Batman Who Laughs.
I agree with mostly everything except Ghostmaker being interesting. I do think that the Wraith from 2004 is probably the most interesting version of Wraith. Batman who laughs was way to overblown and pushed in out faces.
@@TheSsjJoker Honestly I think he was always a terrible character as a concept and in execution. Like what if Joker and Batman combined? That's The Green Goblin,no need to go deeper.
@@kendi5391 Ig, at face value for sure…here’s the thing on paper it sounds interesting, I mean the idea that joker finally broke the bat he ends up becoming the one thing Batman swore to never become, I mean Jokers mindset but with the the skills and intelligence of bats and at first it was kinda cool but like I said he over stayed his welcome, him specifically, the metals storyline was awesome all around but I mean they pushed him being the main focus not so that other variants that are kinda more cooler like red death, in the end he just kinda became a edge lord

Not sure how to explain it in English) but if I get a second one, 'tis going to be the Crooked House for sure. I adore the aesthetic. (Gotta Finish my Berserk sleeve first though)
Prometheus is kind of a rip off of Wrath considering their backstories and roles as Anti Batmen. But Wrath just suits that role better, Prometheus would be better if they just gave him a different origin and motive, and decide whether he’s a Batman villain or a Justice League villain.
Give it another year and DC will make yet another anti batman and then immediately forget about him and toss him aside just like the rest not named Batman who laughs
They had a very close and badass fight in *"Midnighter"* , but in their recent rematch in *"DC vs Vampires: All-Out War"* , Midnighter did make quick work of him.
When it comes to "is Prometheus gay?", I'm not sure if you were expected a serious answer, but just in case... In the DC PRIDE 2023 anthology, one of the posters drawn by Travis Moore, entitled *"Beefcake Bad Boys"* , was like a picture of a group of male DC rogues who are gay or bi. You have Savant, Aleksander Creote, Brain and Monsieur Mallah, aaaaand our guy Prometheus, all of them topless and looking like they drove a jeep into the Monument Valley just to take sexy pics. It's pretty much the one time Prometheus was officialy confirmed as not being straight by DC, AFAIK (and he's one of the minor charas that I'm kinda obsessed with, so I have every issue of every comic book he showed up in...
