The Omega Speedmaster Calibre 321 "Ed White" Chronograph is encased in 39.7mm of stainless ssteel surrounding a black dial on a stainless steel bracelet. Features of this Omega Speedmaster include hours, minutes, small seconds, chronograph and tachymeter scale. This Omega watch also measures 14.1mm in thickness and 48.2mm from lug-to-lug.

I’m fortunate to have a 1975 Speedy that my uncle bought new in 1975 and passed down to me! I will pass it down to my grandson one day❤
By the way , I have the original bill of sale! $275….. pretty good investment
So Ed White comes in the same big box with all case candy that 1861 had. Nice.

I own the 3861 and have tried this 321 piece and the latter wears larger IMHO.. the 321 is thicker with a longer lug to lug with those pointed lugs vs the slightly curved 3861. The larger case size of the 3861 is due to the crown guard so you barely notice the size difference
I would guess that the bezel-diameter is pretty much the same as the standard Speedmaster
@@TimRobertsen so much the same that on the “fois” it’s interchangeable. I added standard Speedmaster hands, others replaced the dial. The 321 is, I wager, the same.
It bothers me to bits that people keep saying the speedy is too big. It's literally a 40mm and wears like it. I totally agree with you
@@StefanoMaggio It wears like a mid-sized watch. In my view, it's smack dab in the middle. Unless you have a really really slim wrist:p

I can only imagine how much the consumer is actually paying for that box, case etc.
This Ed White will go down in history as one of Omega’s best releases in a loooong time.
This watch absolutely crushes the Daytona on hype, history, and horology. Absolutely a grail watch.
Not on hype... It is easier to buy new from an AD, and flippers only ask a little over retail in an unworn piece.
The Ed White is not easier to buy at retail than a Daytona.

Am I the only one to be bothered by the whole "speedy is too big at 42" rhetoric?? This is almost exactly the same size, without 2mm crown guards, it wears the exact same as the new speedy.
“Legendary Moonwatch” on the box is a bit cheesy though
Especially when the 3861 is considered the modern day Moonwatch.
Think i must be the only one who thinks its not luxury to have generic instructions in languages i dont understand for watches i dont own, history of barnd and key models os fine . ... It shows they cant be bothered to get you the correct instructions in the correct language, its not an omega only issue .
Although the Moonwatch itself is an icon in horology world, the problem with Omega is releasing “too many” editions of this model. Omega should value the Moonwatch more by narrowing its lineup and stick with the “hesalite only” standard production model instead of countless reference numbers! This is probably the reason, why Rolex Submariner still known as “the most iconic and desirable watch” of all times.
The case is a deal-breaker for me--I wouldn''t even look at the watch.
A fine watch is supposed to denote elegance. The idea that I can't simply walk into a dealer and buy and walk out with the watch and all the packaging in a small bag--but instead need to drive there or call a cab--and then I'm stuck with this useless valise that becomes an albatross that I'm required to store in my closet, in case I ever decide to sell the watch--and if do want a box to actually keeping the watch in, I have to go buy one--Sorry, my reaction is to tell Omega to go to hll.

Cool I guess but Omega is regrettably not a serious watch company.
What does that mean? They moved technology forward more than any company in the last 20 years. Coaxial was the first major change in escapements in decades and METAS bests both COSC and Rolex “superlative” designation.
@@Judah.Rosenthal They make their watches out of plastic now and they have always made too many versions that get reduced at the AD to sell coz they are unwanted.
@@ListenToPowerViolence Delrin, the only plastic in a Speedmaster, isn’t in the 321 or the 3861. But it was a superior addition to the 1861/3. As for discounts, everybody used to do it. I’ve bought more than one Rolex at an AD at discount. It was simply the model for many years, same as cars. But stopped when Rolex, Patek and AP moved more towards sole distribution. Omega make watches that people can buy. At a price significantly less than Rolex.
They seem pretty serious to me. Perhaps it’s a matter of taste.
