Lyrics
This union that made us powerless is talking over our heads
Claiming prosperity in a downward spiral plan
Stuck by the deadly rhythm of the production line
Stuck by the deadly rhythm of the production line
This power that made us unionless is taking out of our hands
Cheapest labour at our expensive cost, auctioned our lives away
Stuck by the deadly rhythm of the production line
Stuck by the deadly rhythm of the production line
We consume our lives like we are thankful
For what we are being forced into
Is it our duty to die for governments & for gods?
Is it our privilege to slave for market & for industry?
Is it our right to follow laws, set to scare and to oppress?
Is it a gift to stay in line and will it take away the blame?
Can no longer pay the price. We'll get organized!
We'll no longer believe working for you will set us free!
Can no longer pay the price. We'll get organized!
We'll no longer believe working for you will set us free!

#refused #theshapeofpunktocome #25thanniversary #thedeadlyrhythm #epitaph
25 years later and it still sounds fresh, what an amazing album.
I remember picking this up when it was just released
Almost like it was the shape of punk to come
I don’t know about fresh. It sound exactly as it used to.
@@sweetlikechocothai that term refers to the fact that if it came out today, it would still sound relevant in today's musical landscape. Just as it did 26 years ago.
@@phillipgriego4675 I guess.
The drums sounds absolutely beautiful on this album, the cymbals and hi-hat have such a crisp sound and the snare and toms lot of wood and warm feeling to them. The bass is just drilling all the time under the chaos giving it a proper glue and heaviness, the guitar is cranked up and it sounds so good in headphones when everything comes together.
Just noticed that the vinyl he picks up is actually “The Shape Of Jazz To Come” by Ornette Coleman , which is where the TSOPTC title came from.
Came here to say this. Such a nice touch.
Real recognise real
No way, José
Getting a Deadly Rythm music video wasn't on my 2024 Bingo card, but it feels like an early Christmas present. Truly fucking fantastic 🤘🔥
These guys pulled off something pretty rare. None of what they did was truly new, but it was insanely original at the same time! Refused managed to mix the best influences from Victory, Dischord, and Jade Tree bands and came up with a sound even better than theirs. Legendary
The once and future kings. The Shape of Punk to Come, indeed. So, so ahead of the curve.
The album that created a whole new genre of music. This album is incredible and nothing like it has since been created.
Absolute nonsense. Maybe spread your horizons. Played with them with my little punk band in Bristol- Some arrogant fuckers.
Nor by them...
At The Drive In's "Relationship Of Command" is in this same tier.
@@rockboy360 Certainly is.
I'd put "Celebrity Therapist" by the CallousnDaoboys up there as well
New old new noise! love it
One of my all-time favorite albums front to back! Love this track
Soooo siiick! 🖤
Refused getting their flowers so late is so wild to me… this is an international treasure! Now, if their cousin band (Breach) can get theirs too, that would be nice.
love how they're honoring the legacy of this historic album with things like this and the covers album... great goodbye gifts from the absolute MASTERS
Out of nowhere we get a masterpiece thrown at us. Thank you!!
Wow, so super cool to see this. This album was huge for me when I was young. Still holds up and feels fresh/urgent. 10/10 A+
What a great classic album! Love their remixes too!
Amazing use of dance!
Saw them in 2012 and they were phenomenal . I ran into Dennis before the show and he couldn't have been nicer. He signed my ticket and took a picture. They killed it at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland.
These guys need a documentary...
They already have one. "Refused are f*cking dead"
Agreed. So does Entombed, At the Gates, Dissection and Mayhem 😅
There is one called "Refused Are Fucking Dead"
Already exists bro
Make one! You gotta do the things you want to see rarher than wait for someone else to.
These guys have been with me since day one.
Mad love mad respect ❤
Hot damn that was so good! Not heard that in ages and the video is beautiful
Absolutely legendary.
Great video, transferring the song perfectly into 2024! Well done! FR
forgot how much i fuckin lived in this album back in the day
How the fuck this is 25 years old already. This is so damn fresh, what a prophetic album
The world needs this album right now 🤟
Refused threw down a gauntlet with this album - the rare mission statement that continues to fulfill its promise with each year.
How amazing was that ?! What an awesome video.
This has always been my favorite track by them.
This is in my top 5 greatest rock albums of all time. Still a banger after all this time.🤘
Outstanding video from the GOATS
Beautiful......simply BEAUTIFUL!
Legendary.
Can't wait to see 'em in Brooklyn in 2 months!!!
25 years of striking heads with a powerfull record ! Banging in heads since 99' !
The dancing is fun 👍
Goddamn It ! Sounds like it could be released today and still sounds great and not outdated. What a classic record
Still one of the best bands/songs ever.
Love the look and feel of this.
love this
This album is legendary. I miss Refused
Still one of the best albums ever made.
Zeitloses Meisterwerk!!
i was not expecting this to bang as hard as it did! thank you for not disappointing me !
Sheeeeet, I didn't expect it. This album was ahead of his time and changed the game.
Excited for the tribute album!
I only realised this is 25 years old after reading the comments, this sounds FRESH
Great lyrics, congratulations!
Ah, this song still got amazing power !@!❤
I'm f+$#+ed amazed
Love this video. Great song. Great concept. Great editing. ❤
Awesome 🤘🤘🤘
randomly clicked on this, loved the energy! how awesome!
A great song even now. I hope it never fades away.
10/10! BLISTERING BANGER!
H E L L Y E A H 🔥🔥🔥
An unexpected, but welcome suprise.
Hell yeah, Samurai!
Such an amazing album!
Timeless
Still better than most music 25 years later lol 🤘🏼
As a swing dancer and a lover of punk/hardcore, I can't explain just how happy this makes me.
Evan Tanner, may he rest in peace, introduced us to this album in the heavy bag classes at Krav Maga MD. I have left every ounce of my soul in those sweaty rooms listening to this.
I love the dancing and the screamo in the background, refused are legends
This is still one of the best songs on a great album.
I’ve been waiting 25 years to see this video 😮
fantastic!
amazing album
without this song/record music would not mean soo much too me and be not the same
Im shocked and hyped that this song got a music video!
Although also not, cuz of all the songs to possibly get a video retroactively, this one makes the most sense structurally.
LOVE IT
This album changed my life ❤ Always takes me back to being 19 and full of piss & vinegar 🤘🏻
Love u so much, guys
Yes🎉
AGUANTEEE REFUSEDDD !!!
amazing
What a great record, what a great clip
Cool!!!
Refused is the greatest band i have ever listened to, there's nothing like it. It's just special
Have you ever heard the band "Selfmindead" from Oslo from back then? Super similar, but a bit heavier. Really helped fill the void for this sound after Refused broke up in 98'.
👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘
Haven't heard anything from these guys in a long minute. Time to dust them off and push play❤
YEEEESSSSS 🎉🎉🎉
Definitely YEEEESSSSS 🎉🎉🎉
_The Shape of Punk to Come_ Overlooked, Innovative, Groundbreaking, Influential. Classic...
Это база!
Punk.❤❤
That shit's unable to age.
Still great. Long live Refused!
So bummed ill never get to you guys live.
This album will never be matched, not even remotely. It's nothing short of a masterpiece.
Los amo!!!! vengan a Argentina por favor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sickest breakdown 🔥🔥
😮 wow
Yes
I have no idea why this album didn't do that well when it came out, it's one of the most fire punk albums I've ever heard.
❤🖤
COMPOSITION WINS THE MISSION
Until this released I forgot it was announced a while back they were working on new music.
Point is. Its dope.
finally the banger has an MV
Banda foda. 🤟🏽🤟🏽
Classic
Wait, what the fuck?? This is fantastic!
In the context of 90s mosh, chin strap beards and breakdowns, this record was complete mind fkery. This is my favorite jam from the disc.
Didn't Snapcase already release the album? Minus the drum machine and cello ... which doesn't really add anything....
