I'm going to try this, right now I'm re doing my room so I'm looking at tons of diys and I'm really excited to try this one, also do you think it will be okay to add glitter glue? And I'm not adding so much food dye so it's more of a light color. But I really enjoyed this xxx
i have made these before and i tried so many diffrent things, but what i found best was to only add glitter and water. i used only silver glitter and left the jar clear because i thought it looked really pretty, but yours came out awsome, too. :)
Your voice and general attitude is so gentle and wholesome and soothing. Thanks for brightening my evening (: (also these look incredible and I'll definitely be making one)(or10))
Does it have to be vegetable glycerin? I got some glycerin from Michael's and it doesn't say it is vegetable glycerin but I am not sure if it works the same. I wasn't sure where else to get it.Thanks.
These are wonderful. What happens if I start the process of boiling the water, pouring it into jar half way, add the glitter and then realize that I need more glitter. It should be fine to add the rest of the glitter and hot water another day or two days later, wont it?
Larry Locke Yes. I've found though you do not need hot water. The only issue you will have with adding more glitter or glue later is if you've glued the lid on. Which is what I've done for the ones for children.
I have never tried this with a plastic bag jellyfish. I think the glue that you add to the water for the glitter jar would make it so that the jellyfish wouldn't move around in the water as smoothly. I also wonder if the glitter would get stuck in the plastic. Cool idea though! If I figure anything out I will let you know! I love the plastic bag jellyfish!
with adding so much glitter do you ever have any issues with it not settling properly or at all?? ive made these jars SEVERAL times before and EVERY SINGLE TIME ive had issues with the glitter not settling properly a lot of the time a huge amount just collects at the top of the jar ive used glitter glue and regular glitter(not together) ive tried warm water and cold ive tried varying the amount of glitter i use but nothing makes a difference i always have issues with uncooperative glitter do you have any tips/tricks for getting glitter to settle (getting it ALL to settle)???
Nakinna Atkins Hi! Sorry to hear you are having problems with the glitter settling. Sounds frustrating. I haven't actuallty had any problems with the glitter settling. I would try using a little less glue, use REALLY hot water (be careful!), and add the glitter slowly and stir each time you add a little. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Woa! It is wonderful. This is a good idea for my daughter. But i have two questions for you: 1/ Why do you add Glycerin and Clear Blub ? 2/ Why do you use hot water ? Hope you answer my questions soon !
ngoc00lam hong I have not added glycerin, so I am not sure what effect it does. The glycerin here is the stuff for soap, right? If that is the case then I think it just adds to the slow swirly of the glitter, as it "thickens" the water. Blub? You mean glue? If so, clear glue is used so the colour of the glitter and/or water is not distorted. I made a dark green one and then added white elmer's glue, and it turned a foggy pale green. Just like adding white paint to any other colour of paint would do. Hot water is not necessary, I've made all of my mine with tap water, it's just supposed to make adding the glue easier. As most things dissolve or dissipate faster/easier in hot water.
This was sooo cute and helpful I put this over the light from the flashlight app on my phone and it was super cute thank you sooo much keep up the good work!
This particular glitter jar does not glow in the dark. If you would like to make one that glows in the dark all you would have to do is use a glitter that glows in the dark. You could also use glue that glows in the dark. I have seen both of these at most craft stores. If you make one that glows in the dark I would love to see it! You can post them a picture on instagram with the hashtag #untidyartist or email me at untidyartist@gmail.com. Thank you for watching!
Chyanne Unicorns Yes! I will be making more flower fairy doll tutorials! They are quite addicting (and I have to agree they turn out so pretty!) Thank you for your support!
hi, i love your DIY but i've a question : you use a glycerin but what's this? I'm a french and I don't know what this equivalent in France T__T Can you help me please...
kikyo972 Hi! Glycerine is a vegetable based liquid that is used in cosmetics. I found mine at a health food store. If you can't find it, don't worry! It is optional. I have made the Glitter Jars without the glycerine and they turn out beautifully. Hope this helps!
just an idea for parents/guardians, but try putting it into a water bottle (the 'smart water' bottles work very well) instead of a glass jar incase the child is feeling destructive
animetrash Excellent idea! I would suggest mixing the hot water and glue in a glass or metal container and then once it has cooled a bit, pour it into the clear water bottle and then add the glitter. That way the hot water won't melt the plastic bottle. Thank you for sharing!
Charlene Jo Depends on how you want your 'resting' water to look. White elmer's glue or mod podge turn the water milky. Clear glue keeps the water translucent. I've never used mod podge, I am not quite sure what other effect it may or may not have.
You don't have to add the food coloring to your glitter jar if you don't want to. The food coloring just adds extra color to the water. It's fine if you don't add it. Thank you for watching!
I am guessing the fact that you didn't add the glycerin isn't the problem (the glycerin is optional!). Make sure you left a little bit of space at the top of the jar so the liquid can move around. If that is not the problem try pouring out a small amount of the liquid and adding more hot water - it could be that the glue is too thick. Hope that helps! Good luck!
Samantha Dederichs I bought the vegetable glycerine at a health food store. If you can't find it, don't worry! The glycerine is optional and the glitter jar will work fine without it! Hope this helps!
I don't know where to buy mason jars, considering I can't go to a craft store since I don't have one near me. I always watch DIY videos hoping to make those things but I never do.
I have purchased mason jars at the craft store, however, my local grocery store actually carries them for canning. You can also use a recycled glass jar (like an old jam or jelly jar) or even a plastic water bottle. If you choose to make one with a plastic water bottle you will want to mix the hot water and glue in a glass or metal container and then once it has cooled a bit, pour it into the clear water bottle and then add the glitter. This way the hot water won't melt the plastic water bottle. Hope this helps! Thanks!
Devaney Packer I have had mine for over 6 months and they are still good as new! It is important to shake them every so often. I can see them easily lasting over a year. Thank you for watching!
Great question! I am afraid rubber cement would not dissolve into the water like the regular glue (such as Elmer's). I was able to find this type of glue at a craft store but I know my local grocery store carries it. Any store that carries basic school supplies should have it. Hope this helps!
Iris Ergo Hi! You want the water to be hot so that the glue will dissolve into it. You could just mix the hot water and glue in a glass or metal container and then once it has cooled a bit, pour it into the clear water bottle and then add the glitter. Hope this helps!
Iris Ergo I have made five so far, w/o the glycerin or hot water. They turn out just the same. I've been making them with my child so wanted to stay away from the "dangerous" aspects. I have not made one w/ hot water so maybe I have to stir more? I do not know. I add my ingredients a little bit at a time, shaking the bottle in between adding water, glitter, glue and glitter glue.
My child loves hers. And plastic water bottles are great for children so they aren't shaking glass around. I found at Fred Meyer, possibly Kroger where you are, in the travel section, 4-6 oz plastic bottles for like putting shampoo in or whatever, up in Alaska they're under 2 dollars. Not sure what your work is, but if you've got more than a couple children to do this with, they're a cheap way to go. Glad I could help. They're pretty awesome.
Ava Worster that's right I tried it and it does turn milky I don't but I do not have clear glue so I did not use any glue that also works you should try it too but if you don't want to that's fine with me.
I just made it and it is amazing decoration for my room! It really relaxes me when I have to study.
I'm going to try this, right now I'm re doing my room so I'm looking at tons of diys and I'm really excited to try this one, also do you think it will be okay to add glitter glue? And I'm not adding so much food dye so it's more of a light color. But I really enjoyed this xxx
This is like the best idea ever ...
I love that it is easy and inexpensive.!
Cheap
i have made these before and i tried so many diffrent things, but what i found best was to only add glitter and water. i used only silver glitter and left the jar clear because i thought it looked really pretty, but yours came out awsome, too. :)
How long does the glitter swirl around? Do you have to keep shaking it or does it swirl for like 1/2 hour. Is it kind of like a snow gl
love it. going to make this, with my cousins next week along with slim. yay. all the glitter will be used.
Love these, cant wait to try them with my grandkids, thank you!!
These look so cool! Will definitely be making one (or tons) for my room!!
WHAT DID U DO TO JINX
Your voice and general attitude is so gentle and wholesome and soothing. Thanks for brightening my evening (: (also these look incredible and I'll definitely be making one)(or10))
Does it have to be vegetable glycerin? I got some glycerin from Michael's and it doesn't say it is vegetable glycerin but I am not sure if it works the same. I wasn't sure where else to get it.Thanks.
When I made my jar I used non vegetable glycerin and it worked fine!
BEST glitter jar tutorial I've seen yet. Thanks so much :)
Great video, and it explains more on the materials like fine vs course glitter which other videos don't explain
love the idea! cant wait to make some for my new room :) Do these go off/out of date? or how often should you replace them?
Nope shouldn't go out of date since its glue water and glitter.
well actually yes they do, my teahers have these and some of them have rust and stuff floating around in it.
I just made one! Thank you so much for the tutorial. :D I plan on making so many.
StarMoonShadows is it must u use glycerine
Plz reply yy
SO MUCH GLITTER!😱😍 I'M OBSESSED!!😂
Can i use vegetable oil or soyabean oil instead of glycerin?
My friend has used vegetable oil and said it works so I believe it should
How much will it last looking like new or will the quality will change over time? Thank You!!!
Thanks for your clear instructions! I'm adding more glue and glitter to mine. :)
that is a lot of glitter and is looks amazing. definitely going to try it out
This is absolutely stunning! I can’t wait to try this out !!!!!! 😍✨🔮✨💕
Thank you for watching! Happy crafting! xo
I'm attempting to do this but the glitter is clumping do you have any advice on which glitter to use or how to make it not clump?
These are wonderful.

wow just wow, even just making it is calming
***** I agree! These are great to calm my kids AND myself! Thank you for watching!
:) yep. No, thank you for making this tutorial :)
Out of all the videos I seen yours is by far the best!!!!
Meh too
wow your daughter is soooooooooooo beutifull I wish I was her :}
That is so cool and it look super easy and I love glitter and sparkles🤗🤗🤗😏🤗
do you need to keep it in a warm place and how long does it last :) also does it ever harden
+Ellis Dee questions??😂lmao
i am already feeling relaxed. its damn satisfying
Would this work if you added a plastic bag jelyfish inside if you don't use as much glitter so you can see through?
I have never tried this with a plastic bag jellyfish. I think the glue that you add to the water for the glitter jar would make it so that the jellyfish wouldn't move around in the water as smoothly. I also wonder if the glitter would get stuck in the plastic. Cool idea though! If I figure anything out I will let you know! I love the plastic bag jellyfish!
Does it need to be hot boiling water? I have seen multiple other recipes that says warm water.
What kind of glycerin? Are there any substitutions?

Hi which glitter colors for the purple one?
hi, i love your DIY but i've a question : you use a glycerin but what's this? I'm a french and I don't know what this equivalent in France T__T Can you help me please...

Where is the best place to buy this variety of glitter?
This was a really well made video!
I love this. ✨✨✨
can i use white glue instead of clear glue?PLS PLS PLS REPLY
They say you shouldn't because it turns "milky"
Will it work with regular glue or without glue?
+Mary's YT Channel it doesnt work without glue and white glue works but just makes the water cloudy put a bit more colouring in :D
Thats a good idea using a large plastic bottle is a safe bet .
just an idea for parents/guardians, but try putting it into a water bottle (the 'smart water' bottles work very well) instead of a glass jar incase the child is feeling destructive

bulbabby feeling destructive lol.
mimi brown kids like to throw things around and such
bulbabby just the thought of that makes me wonder what's going on in there head. Lol
mimi brown I think a lot of times it's just a curiosity thing, like what'll happen if I throw this
If I don't have clear is white ok?
Clear glue is proving hard to find in the uk - would white school glue (that dries clear) work???
How many ml of glue you used in this video ?
Okay 147 ML
How big are the mason jars used in the video?
How much glitter do you need to use to make it look like that?
lovely!!!!
Can I use white glue?
I don't think white glue would work because then it won't be clear
Whats a substitute for glycerin?
The glycerin is optional. You can just leave it out. Happy crafting!
i love it
How do you make sure that they don’t leak
AMAZING!!! 😝😍😍😘👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌
Nashely Cruz thanks for watching and hope you enjoy all of the upcoming DIY's and tutorials.
what if i dont have glycerine? please i need answers thanks
Can I use Mod Podge?
Charlene Jo Depends on how you want your 'resting' water to look. White elmer's glue or mod podge turn the water milky. Clear glue keeps the water translucent. I've never used mod podge, I am not quite sure what other effect it may or may not have.
Brands/types please (of the glitter) would be really helpful
course, fine, stars whatever glitter you want
Its awsome ❤️
Can we use white school glue??
+Angel Labi Yes! White school glue will work. Thanks for watching!
It is okey if i not add some food coloring?
pleas answer my question
You don't have to add the food coloring to your glitter jar if you don't want to. The food coloring just adds extra color to the water. It's fine if you don't add it. Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much po.... 😄
That was cool
If my glitter doesn't move around ( I omitted the glycerin part) Where do you think I went wrong?
I am guessing the fact that you didn't add the glycerin isn't the problem (the glycerin is optional!). Make sure you left a little bit of space at the top of the jar so the liquid can move around. If that is not the problem try pouring out a small amount of the liquid and adding more hot water - it could be that the glue is too thick. Hope that helps! Good luck!
You were correct! The glue seems to have been too thick. Thank you very much!
Hello! I was wondering if i can use WHITE glue instead of Glitter Glue, Clear Glue, etc. Will i work? Stay awesome! ~
Hi! I was wondering, will this work if I use pva glue? It would mean a Lol to me if u could reply and tell me thanks
+Faith Crosbie pva glue does work it just makes the water cloudy so just add more colour hope this helps :D
can i use vegetable glycerin
Yes you can! Thank you for watching!
Wisk, food colouring, lots of glitter, extra fine, paper for lid
Where did you buy the vegetable glycerin
Samantha Dederichs I bought the vegetable glycerine at a health food store. If you can't find it, don't worry! The glycerine is optional and the glitter jar will work fine without it! Hope this helps!

Can I use water colour instead of Food colour ?? :)
Aysha Lamia yeah. Just don't add too much
Cool
How long does this last?
Devaney Packer I have had mine for over 6 months and they are still good as new! It is important to shake them every so often. I can see them easily lasting over a year. Thank you for watching!
Emilie Lefler could I use elmers rubber cement? It's all I have

Thanks! Tomorrow I'll do a tiny test run in a cup of a tablespoon of water and the rubber cement glue. I'll let you know how it goes
Jolie P Please do!!!
I really wanna make this with our kids but is the hot water necessary?
Iris Ergo Hi! You want the water to be hot so that the glue will dissolve into it. You could just mix the hot water and glue in a glass or metal container and then once it has cooled a bit, pour it into the clear water bottle and then add the glitter. Hope this helps!

can we use white glue
i think if you use white glue,it will be very milky
Ava Worster that's right I tried it and it does turn milky I don't but I do not have clear glue so I did not use any glue that also works you should try it too but if you don't want to that's fine with me.
I would think because you don't want the white glue sticking to the glitter and blotting it out...the idea is to see through it and see the glitter.
+kathleen Willis1954 yep I've experienced that that's why I know what happens if you use white glue
can't we do it with glue
Is there a list of the ingredients that we will need?
did you watch the video? water, glitter, clear glue and glycerin?
Awsomeeee
Thank you +Samrana!
can i use wood glue??
👍👍
could you add glitter glue
