Hi! I tried like 5 different formulas for sensory “calming” bottles and finding one that worked was anything but calming. YOUT FORMULA IS PERFECTION! Got beautiful results regardless of color, glitter or bottle size. Only thing is I didn’t find the waiting necessary, mixing right away and waiting produced very similar results!
Yay! I'm SO glad this tutorial worked for you! Once you figure out the "correct" formula for you, it becomes much less of a headache and much more calming 😉. I'm thrilled that it all worked out in the end! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Bethany, thank you so much for posting this video! I have tried to make sensory bottles several times in the past, with fairly disappointing results. I happened to have similar soap and a bunch of glitter and bottles left over from my previous attempts, so my client and I were able to make some following your guidelines as soon as we came across your video today! It was so much fun and they really turned out like I have been imagining for so long! They will make excellent additions to our calming kits. Thanks!!!
I'm so happy to hear that you found this tutorial to be helpful! I know there are several methods out there but this is the one I found to work the best for me personally. I love being able to share these fun and wonderful projects! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
That's awesome! I love when projects fall into place like that! I'm glad you found this to be helpful 😊. Let me know how yours turn out if you decide to make them! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I have seen some sensory bottles "aquarium" themed that use sand and water, but I like how the glue/soap makes it slow down. Have you ever tried using sand with the soap? Was wondering if it would float around as much as the glitter does which probably wouldn't look as nice 😅
That's a great idea! I have NOT tried sand but would guess it would work as even the finest glitter eventually falls. I believe it would make it more difficult to see the other items that are placed in the container until it all settles, however. Hopefully that makes sense 😊.
Great question! You can use a variety of soaps, however, please beware of Soft Soap. My coworker used a clear soft soap brand and it almost immediately turned to a thick creamy white consistency when combined with the water. I've personally only tried the soap in the video but my coworker tried some from the dollar store and had luck. Let me know if you try something else and like it 😁. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I want to make these as centerpieces for a 4 hour party. Will the glitter "hang" that long and should I wait just before the party to shake them well? Thanks for the great tutorial. Can't wait to go shopping for some fun glitter!😊
Thank you so much for this, I cant deal with the glues because I'm not american and am scared I wont have that exact elmer's glue or whatever but I can do soap! My husband as a small bottle he is attatched to but wont let go of for who knows what reason so I figured I might as well make something out of for him to actually enjoy.
I'm so glad that you have other options available! Just beware of the "Softsoap" brand. It will not work as this brand does. I hope you were able to find just the right ingredients to make with your husband's bottle so he can continue to enjoy it for years to come. I'd love to hear how it turned out and how he liked it! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@arianaevans6810 They're still going strong with no signs of mold. I was actually just shaking up and using two of my original calming jars with orbeeze last night. I did notice the orbeeze have shrunk a little in size. I suspect some of the water that was absorbed into them transferred into the soap/water ratio surrounding them. Hope this helps!
I tried making the bottles for a class that I am teaching, unfortunately I did not read the comment about Softsoap. It clumped everything together. Ordered items using the links provided. Waiting.
Oh no! My coworker didn't have it happen until AFTER I made this video. Otherwise I would've put the disclaimer right in the video. Hopefully you'll have better luck with the next ones you make! I'd love to hear an update if all goes well! Happy new year!
Yes, I apologize for the very delayed response but I have also heard of people using Elmer's Glue to also make these. I'm not sure what the exact mixture should be but I'm guessing there are others on here on UA-cam that would have some helpful tutorials for you and mixture amounts. I'm sorry I can't be of more help with the recipe! But I do want to thank you for watching and commenting!
The pressed flowers are dehydrated so placing them into the water/soap mixture will rehydrate them and would cause them to most likely rot in the jars. I would stay away from really pressed flowers and stick to the polymer clay slices and glitter. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Do you have a link for glitter that does NOT change the color of the water? 😔. I have gotten some at Michael's and Amazon but they all change the color of the water and I don't want that😔😔😔.
That is a great question! Really the only glitter that won't bleed over time would be silver or a lighter glitter. Each of my color glitters have bled into the water/soap solution over time. I look at it as extra character and like the slight color variations but if you stick to lighter colored glitters or silvers especially, they shouldn't bleed much into the solution. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
I haven't seen anyone try it with dish soap yet. Most dish soaps are colored so it could give a cool look depending on preference! I'm just not sure how the final product would look as far as cloudiness.
It boils down to personal preference, honestly. I find the soap works well, so that's what I stick with but I know others who have used the glue and like the results.
Does the polymer clay color fade away over time? i once made a outdoor mosaic and the clayfaded as time went by. i even put a clear coat or two of cement prevention and it still faded.
That is a fantastic question! I too, was concerned about this! So far, the polymer clay has NOT faded away. I will say that if you use a glitter that "bleeds", it is possible that it will transfer to the polymer clay pieces. I haven't combined the polymer clay bits with a glitter that does this (yet) but I imagine that would be a great possibility that it would occur. As for the Polymer clay in the soapy liquid and glitter that doesn't "bleed" I can say that I'm quite impressed with the outcome. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know and I'll do my best to answer! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Polymer clay will bleach in direct sunlight, especially if left out for any extended time. I imagine it would be fine in these bottles unless you leave them out in the sun.
Hello! I made one myself and when I shaked it before gluing it (to see how it falls) there's leakage. Will the super glue stop it from leaking when you shake it?
Great question! It's possible that it will be able to stop it from leaking, however, you will need to be absolutely certain you have 100% of the soap residue cleaned off from the inside of the lid by the threading and the threading directly on the bottle, otherwise the glue will not adhere properly. You can be generous with the glue and don't shake it until the glue is completely cured. Also, make sure you screw the lid on securely. I hope this all helps! Thanks for watching!
Great question! Clear glue or glitter glue also work, I've just only used the soap It really depends on what you have available to you and would prefer to use 😊.
It depends on the jar you purchase for your projects and how well you take care of them. I have several that are still going strong and I love to shake them up occasionally. But I also have had some break due to dropping them and having the plastic cap break. Some of the glitters can bleed over time but it doesn't affect how the bottle works. I hope this helps!
I was so excited to do soap instead of glue but, I definitely did something wrong. It produced so many micro bubbles that the concoction wasn't just cloudy...it was pure white out.🤦♀️ I didn't glue the lid. So im going to do a gasoff round but, because it's soap, it may be a waste of time. Have u had this problem? Maybe I got wrong soap?
Hello! It's possible that it was an issue related directly to the soap that was used? I know that the soft soap brand causes a "whiteout" effect. I didn't know this until AFTER I made this video and it happened to my coworker. Hopefully you were able to troubleshoot and find the right formula for you! Thank you for watching!
It was just water that I added at the beginning. Some glitter sits on top of the water and you have to shake it to really get it to sink and mix in the liquid.
It's the glue that I prefer. It's industrial strength and really seems to do a good job. If you have a glue that you'd prefer to use, I'm sure that would be fine too. You just really want to get a good seal. I hope this helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!
You can use any jars you would like. I opted for these because they're plastic so if they are dropped, I don't need to worry about glass. I also like the way they look 😊.
You can definitely use more water to get a faster falling effect. Personally, I prefer longer "hang time" of the glitter, so I use quite a bit of soap. It's all about personal preference so you can definitely use more water in your project if so desired 😊.

Hi! Great video! Where did your friends find the beachy chunky glitter?
Thank you! I believe they got it at Michael's but I could be mistaken. It's really a lovely glitter!
I love these! Is it a necessity to use that specific kind of clear soap or can I just get any brand of clear soap?

I used dial for one and dollar tree for others they all worked. Some gelatinize more so just add more water. And it goes right back to flowing

can you mix Elmer's glue and the hand soap + water? I wanna make a glow in the dark tube but idk if itd work
I've heard of people doing glue and glycerin so I'd assume you'd get same results. Not that you need this now, 2months later.

Yes! Clear glue and glitter glues are definitely another option!
Hi I wanted to try this for a jar I'm creating with dryer flowers and petals will it work? Or it's a bad idea?
It should be ok
