Forgive me if I’m repeating anyone else’s comment, but I believe that this may bear repeating. It would be very helpful if you played thru the song one time before you get into the instructions. Then once the instructions are done, play thru once again. This would be very helpful as we can see how to apply the lesson, and how it should sound when played as instructed. Thanks for all of the help. You’re doing a great job!
with all due respect to all other online / internet guitar teachers and i have watched and bought off them all , you are in my opinion the best by a long ways , i hope you are making loads money Jerry , you deserve every cent
Great lessons! Very accurate and taught a great pace! Can't understand why anyone would dislike ANY of your videos, unless they're brand new to the guitar or someone who should stick to percussion instruments. I
Hi Jerry. You are a really good singer. And of course guitar player and teacher. I find your videos very informative. I like the double camera too. My brain can not handle going back to look at the right hand after the left hand shot. Many teachers don't like using two cameras. Too much informative at once. But it works better for me. Because when playing both hands work as one :) Thank you again for posting on You-tube. Brent
Wonderful video and instruction, this is one of my favorite James Taylor songs and one I have always wanted to learn on the guitar. Some commenters are complaining that this video is too detailed, but since I am a beginner and there are a lot of complex chords and shifting around, I need and welcome all the detail you can provide. I find myself quitting tutorials from teachers who move too quickly or don't explain unique chords, so Jerry your teaching style is perfect for me.
Brilliant! There are many places to learn the basic chords and song, but what a great in-depth understanding you have of the subtle nuances that make this a great song to be able to properly play.
Another great lesson. Would you consider a lesson on the James Taylor song "Lo and Behold" ? One of my favorites, but I can not find a single tutorial.
Robert Mansfield Hi Robert. It's on my site but it's one of my paid lessons. If that doesn't put you off it's here: www.jerrysguitarbar.com/guitar-video-lessons/individual-songs/james-taylor-lo-behold/
Well on the recent live versions he'll repeat the last line of the chorus and play a Bm kind of chord... I know it's a B bass, but it has a C# in there on the string #2... I hear it in alot of his stuff...???
Thanks for this free lesson! I bought a couple others and am working on them now. Appreciate the detail (unlike some other commenters!). May I ask what guitar that is you are playing?
You can probably eliminate the simple chord explanations in your videos because these songs probably make beginners heads spin, try keeping it to at least an intermediate level
You spend so much time telling us about James Taylor I forgot I was trying to learn a song ! Chee what would James Taylor say probably James Taylor would say James Taylor
@@fletche02 Indeed. And besides, it's UA-cam, you have the ability to skip as much of the lesson as you want, and it's free. All I can say is: thanks for all the wonderful lessons. It's never been easier to learn songs than today.

That's really nice of you Alan. I don't think any of us is getting rich in this climate but if I make enough to continue it's all good :)
I dread learning this because JT's chord choices and voicings are insane!

I have watched this over and over, and I am getting it. Thanks for breaking down the licks. I want to be able to play this really badly. Thanks a lot.
I can play it really badly now. Should I quit watching?
@@rickkernell2486 No, keep at it!

Love your videos. Ignore the negative people.
Great old song I grew up listening to in the 1970's.

Really great lesson Jerry. Where can I buy the tabs please
+William Mcmahon Hi William. The tabs are free. Follow the link in the description underneath the video
+Jerry's Guitar Bar Hi Jerry, this is fantastic, but your website doesn't seem to be working. :(
+Jessica Shaham I'm on it right now Jessica. Keep checking. Should be back soon.
Love your stuff, Jerry-- thanks! One question-- what is a backwards "G?" What am I missing here?
It's just a phrase I use for a G that's fingered with middle, ring and little fingers, as opposed to index, middle and ring.
Well on the recent live versions he'll repeat the last line of the chorus and play a Bm kind of chord... I know it's a B bass, but it has a C# in there on the string #2... I hear it in alot of his stuff...???
Saba ba nmo
I wonder if he got the two-finger brushing technique from Paul McCartney
Jerry, I'm curious... what kind of strings you are using?
I think these were Martin Phosphor Bronze 12's but I've started to use Newtone strings now.
Thanks for this free lesson! I bought a couple others and am working on them now. Appreciate the detail (unlike some other commenters!). May I ask what guitar that is you are playing?
Hi Christopher. Glad you liked it. The guitar is a Santa Cruz Model F.
It's basically a slow waltz
I wished you played the whole song, It's hard to have an idea how the songs sound like. Too much details but otherwise thanks for a good lesson.
Hi Frank. Just download the full lesson from the website. Link is in the description above. It includes the play thru of the whole song plus the tabs.
there is a young cow :p
More like there is a young calf
Good lesson if you're not interested in playing like James Taylor.
Good video but it sounds too complicated for me, all in all it ok.

You sound good but you beat around the bush to much. Go ahead and play the damn song for us who needn't the intricate stum details
Not everyone is as advanced as you. I need the extra instruction.
