would be nice if you would show the end result (the photo of you wearing it) at the end again. because while watching we are so focused on you watching how you do it that we almost forget how wonderful and cool were the beginning at the beginning
I could, literally, listen to you describe making a bowl of cereal. Your voice is super relaxing, and this is a wonderful project for beginner crafters. Thanks, so much!
This is so cool and absolutely genius. It's amazing that a piece can look so original and avant-garde but also be so traditional and classical. You're incredible.
I love these so much! I'm definitely going to make some. I've been trying to convince my cousin to take portraits of me that I will have turned into oil paintings (because who doesn't want a fancy oil painting of the self?) and this is sooooo perfect for the photos!
Thankyou very much for making this tutorial!! My daughter is searching on different headpiece for their play and finally saw what she like most when she encountered your video!
Ik this comment is old but don't worry! E6000 usually takes 8 full hours to cure. If I'm gluing a large enough surface I usually dot a little bit of hot glue along with the E6000 so that it will hold it down
This is beautiful! Great job , in my culture we celebrate the day of the dead on oct 31-nov2 and I’ll be making a head piece for my look I’ll definitely make this but with red and black roses with black gems and red thanks for the idea 🖤
Instead of a wet q-tip I use a pencil with a bit of sticky tack on the end. I prefer it because I can mod it into a point if using really tiny stones or I can pick up. 2 or sometimes 3 stones when doing large surfaces. I'm actually working on my third pair of rhinestone covered shoes. And E6000 is the best glue for that to
Delilah Doll if you do a lot of this type of work, a Crystal Katana is amazing and helps speed up the process. Even a cheap wax pencil for doing nail rhinestone work (I'm a nail tech and find these make the job a lot easier!) you can find them on eBay x
I have used this as well as the hand soldered filigree stampings crown tutorial to learn how to make my own headpieces, three of which are being used in a short film next weekend. I'm a HUGE history buff, and I love Renaissance era fashion, painting, jewelry and calligraphy, as well as rococo/regency fashion, Victorian fashion (although I'm more of an 1870s/1880s girl than an 1850s/early 1860s girl, lol) Tudor and Elizabethan fashion, and 1920s-1970s, especially the more midcencury mod stuff, and the later '60s and early '70s "Dark Shadows" "Adams Family" pilgrim collar type thing. I used to try and recreate dresses from paintings of various members of the court of Versailles in the 1700s, but I've been really busy with music the last few years until I got this job as head costumer for a short film that includes Renaissance scenes and contemporary ones, so I started researching some diy accessory methods, which led me to this channel and your blog. You have inspired me to start costuming for myself again for the first time in 5 years! I have also really enjoyed your dressmaking videos and blog posts, and I've actually learned a lot from you, and I'm 29, so your work and ingenuity is really impressive! Thanks Angela! Maybe one day soon you'll see some tutorials on my channel! Please continue the amazingly helpful and fun videos and posts!
Your hair is so cute!! I want to get mine cut like that :') Anyway, your project was amazing too! Although... those last two skewers closest to the edge of the headband made me nervous 0-0 Now I need to start making crowns haha!
Hi Im Lyka Oduya Of the Philippines I love you crown. I Used to Be Rosa Mystica in our city And your video help me to make a crown. Thank you for this . God Bless You. And Keep up the good work.

This is amazing but I was wondering how do the dried roses hold up? I would assume they're very fragile but ??? Also did you dry them yourself if so how did you do that without crushing them??? Either was this tutorial is absolutely brilliant
I'm not the OP, but I do a Lot of crafting. I'd suggest using a fine-grit sandpaper to lightly rough up the surface of the headband, then wipe clean before you glue or paint. It should help everything (glue & paint) stick better. Maybe try adding just a smidge more hot glue at the base of each skewer. It'll take a little more time to dry, but if it works? Worth it. Working on a non-stick surface and keeping the piece as flat as possible while the hot-glue solidifies completely (just give it an extra minute or two after it looks dry) for each skewer should also help. If you want a smoother, shinier surface to the skewers, once you've finished the beading, mask from the beaded portion down and use a second coat of gold spray paint (preferably a high shine one like 24 Karat's for shinyness, or just another layer of the matte one the creator seems to have used) on the top and all of the back. You might even add a clear lacquer spray coat in the same manner once it's dry for maximum shinyness. Add the flowers last, of course. I don't recommend base-coating the skewers, or adding the second coat of gold spray paint before gluing the embellishments, because the resultant smoother surface will make it harder for the glue to grip. Also, maybe use a smidge more hot glue at the base of each skewer. I hope some of this helps - best of luck with all your crafting adventure! ~M~
usually by the time they are that dry they wont continue to discolor, so they should be okay. lighter colors like white or pink will dry to a brownish color so darker roses are best
this project makes my inner art history nerd happy
eternal8song sameeeeee😂
aleah
For real
spraying the crown with aglossy brown or black base coat will make the gold look even shinier, since it will even out the surface.
Thank you for the great idea!
me taking notes so I can recreate the met gala looks 👀📝
Alyx Malik MOOOOD

OMGOMGOMG this looks like Celestia Ludenburg’s headpiece in the 10th anniversary art!! awesome!
How fragile is that? I would fear those sticks falling or breaking off of the headband
I love these so much!
I'm definitely going to make some.
I've been trying to convince my cousin to take portraits of me that I will have turned into oil paintings (because who doesn't want a fancy oil painting of the self?) and this is sooooo perfect for the photos!

That was so simple yet beautiful. Thanks for breaking it down!
you're genuinely so creative
I must not use E6000 properly cause it always takes forever to dry for me.
These headbands are soooooo gorgeous and really inspiring to look at.

I love that this can go for so many different outfits/costumes!

Did you find or figure out the thickness of the wooden skewers?
Can I sprinkle the glitter/sequins to save time or do I have to do it per skew?

This is amazing but I was wondering how do the dried roses hold up? I would assume they're very fragile but ??? Also did you dry them yourself if so how did you do that without crushing them??? Either was this tutorial is absolutely brilliant
Nice video. This spiky crown with roses makes you look like Our Lady of La Salette ;-D.
What were the skewers thickness used?
Is that real roses you use?
Any tips for the sticks to stay on the headband I keep trying to glue the sticks but they easily fall off soon after drying
I'm not the OP, but I do a Lot of crafting. I'd suggest using a fine-grit sandpaper to lightly rough up the surface of the headband, then wipe clean before you glue or paint. I love multi purpose accessories! Did you have any trouble with the skewers falling out of place or breaking?
You are pretty. Nice project! 😍
This is beautiful! THank you sooooo much!!!
When I sprayed the gold on it made all the sticks fall off somehow! 😩 must be something in the paint?
this is like peak DIY
Thank you for making this tutorial!
aren't the dried flowers falling apart or crumbling? i always have that problem with mine...
Do dried rose stay that pretty for long or do they continue to dry out and brown ?
usually by the time they are that dry they wont continue to discolor, so they should be okay. lighter colors like white or pink will dry to a brownish color so darker roses are best
Can I use super glue instead??
Beautiful!
is it heavy to wear
Im making this for halloween! Ty for your video
Love it! But how do you keep it secure on your head? Thanks x
The type of headband she uses has teeth and or grips :)
Will you ever do a hat tutorial?
