Make sure you pursue it then. As soon as possible. I feel the same way as you about work, and that feeling doesn't go away. Don't put yourself through the stress and exhaustion of working a job you hate.
I am halfway through collage and I'm interning with a vet tech at the Cincinnati zoo. Ive taken exotic wildlife and marine wildlife classes. I've worked with seals and penguins. And big cats, not lions and tigers, but servals and lynx's. The fact that I used to watch videos like this as a kid and now I'm almost there, almost reaching my dream of working at a zoo or marine center is almost breathtaking. It's because of these videos, it inspired me to want to help exotic animals.
That's amazing!! I'm still in high school and it's my dream to work at a zoo and be a vet. Someday I'll make it there and it's inspiring to hear that you were in the same position as me and now you've made it!

It’s great you already have some animals experience try looking for zoos accepting volunteers to build up some more experience in that industry and maybe look at internships too! A lot of Zookeepers first Jobs end up being at the place they have volunteered at!
Being a Zookeeper is the only career I will do and feel at home though our education system doesn't focus on passion but one day I'll make it to be amongst the best Zookeepers😊

I’m in school for animal health and behavior and I really hope I can do this one day. I would love to especially get hands on experience with big cats and primates.
This is my dream job and I will work hard for it but I really need to know if I have to talk in front of a crowd to show off the animals and there abilities
A few years ago one of our friends went on one of these zoo keeper experience days as a gift for her 21st birthday , she didn’t realise she’d be expected to do odd jobs as well including cleaning the staff toilets before seeing the animals. She got to feed the animals some fruit. But was soon given a bag to go around litter picking after the customers. She had to make tea for the other staff then allowed lunch in the building workers staffroom, they were quite loud and rude. The description said she’d have to muck in and do the day to day tasks of a zoo keeper-worker. She never saw any of the animal shows or was able to participate instead that was when she was asked to do odd jobs. However She did get given a souvenir pack including an eye spy animal book and a badge with a certificate.
ever since i was 6 i always wanted to be a veterinarian caring for animals, but now im 14 still wanted to be a veterinarian, but i came across a video of someone holding a koala, and it made me think, what if i become a zoo keeper or a zoologist, o always felt such a connection for animals.

How does one survive as a zookeeper? From what I’ve read and learned, they get paid less than when I was a grocery bagger at Kroger thanks to passion exploitation. It’s what made me give up my dream of being a zookeeper and settling with IT. The education required, safety risks, exposure to zoonotic diseases, living in a cardboard box is not worth doing what I am passionate about, so I’ve heard.
I’d be happy to have a smaller salary if it means I can interact with amazing animals everyday. Rather that then paying a fortune seeing them from the other side of the fences and not being able to touch them
It is sad but at the same time it kind makes sure that only people who really care passionately about the animals r applying and no one is just doing it for the money.
