The doctors and nurses who were on duty at the hospital that night deserve more recognition for dealing with a war scene out of the blue. It must have been totally overwhelming for them, but listening to some of them here , it sounded like they snapped into action and did everything they could to save lives, despite the numbers and the chaos. Heroes of this whole tragedy.

I agree with you. What the Sunrise Drs, nurses and other staff did that night was nothing short of miraculous. They may have all been professionally trained in trauma but not of this magnitude all at once. Hearing their stories as well as some of the victims and their loved ones really solidified that belief. There were many heroes that horrific night. So very sorry that so many lives were forever changed by this tragedy.🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️

It's not something you forget. I can only imagine the context made this more brutal. I was there with my mam and grandad as they took their final breaths. I know the change he's talking about. The skin begins to take on a pallor in the final hours or minutes, then a sallow grey as life leaves. It's somewhat of gradual process during an expected death. I imagine the transition was far more quick and terrifying as the young lad died. Probably of bloodloss, and probably with agonal breathing. Awful.

Bc once you experience that level of grief, you’d never minimize or deny someone else’s. I have a friend who was injured there in Vegas - a dancer and yoga instructor, she was shot in the knee. PTSD and a knee that’ll never be the same. But at least she’s still alive. I can’t imagine the devastation of those who lost loved ones. To have people disrespecting them? It’s like the Holocaust deniers. Or the Sandy Hook deniers. Kids people!! Those poor families to go through that and then have people demeaning their child being murdered?! WTF people?? Surely our founding fathers never imagined the first amendment being used like this. Sorry for the rant, 9 months later!!

I remember going to bed and hearing sirens but not thinking anything of it. Little did I know those were the sirens of emergency vehicles that were rushing to save people's lives. The morning of October 2nd my mom woke me up at like 4 or 5 am in a panic and every one of our frequently watched channels were just breaking news and updates about the shooting. I was a freshman in school and I remember we didn't do anything at school for that week. The ambience of the entire city was just so dull and unrecognizable compared to the usual. Driving past the Mandalay Bay and seeing the boarded up window and driving past the festival location was bone chilling and uncomfortable. I remember visiting the crosses/victim memorial to pay my respects and how quiet it was and how heartbreaking it was to see people on the floor crying for their loved ones. Seeing the overwhelming amount of people donating blood and helping was something very heartwarming. I wish I could've donated blood at that time. My heart goes out to everyone who lost their lives or someone and to those traumatized by this tragedy.

How long did it take to clean all that up, and who has the stomach to do that job? @@justlikehoney1859 as much as I understand your rationale and reasoning it’s deeper than being Big Men with automatic weapons. Kansas Army National Guard here out of Wichita 242nd Engineering BN
It’s a horrible sight to see when someone with mental health issues starts killing with the very tools we use to protect ourselves with. Sure our armed forces should have these weapons but in the event of a tyrannical government wanting to do away with us as Americans, if you give away your power to defend your family and yourself no one will have access to the required weapons to fight against a power greater than yourself. All because you and millions of others that don’t want to take the risk of something like a mass shooting happening in exchange for safety. Gun Control does nothing but put innocent people in a position to kneel down to evil people like Paddock and even more malevolent entities like a government without your best interest and safety in mind anymore.
It sucks these things happen and I wish I could be Superman and put an end to individuals like this but I can’t. But I can tell you if I was with my family and other families around me were in the sights of a man with a rifle and I had mine, I wouldn’t hesitate to protect you. I can’t protect you or myself with gun control laws in place. If it was that easy we would already be like Australia and Mexico. Yet you notice that criminals still find access to those weapons either way...But like I said, it’s deeper than having 30-40-60 round magazines and high powered weapons and feeling like big men. It’s about surviving and protecting.

As a long time local of 40 years this horrible incident was not as much of a surprise to me and my friends and family as it was to all those who had recently moved into the valley. For anyone to understand how things like that happen in Vegas you would have needed to be there everyday as I was to feel the vibes out there on those streets. Vegas had changed into something we as locals did not want to see, our neighborhoods were no longer safe, the schools were failing the community, gangs were running the streets and so on. Vegas was my home, but after this we all decided enough was enough. I lost many friends to those streets, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of them. It was very sureal to us to know how bad Vegas had become and yet all we kept hearing from the new locals was how fabulous Vegas was. There's things that go on there that trust me you don't wanna know, things I wish I didn't know nor witnessed with my own eyes. Vegas will always be in my heart because it's a part of who I am. And everyday when I wake up a part of me still wishes it was my home, but those days are gone. God bless you all and please be safe. Vegas strong ❤

Nothing seems real on tv or documentaries.. but once you see people go into survival mode and people falling down and not moving its completely horrific.. most people didn't actually help but hurting each other to get to safety..luckily there were some brave people that did..I seen many dead people in my life and it's easy to not think about it, but you will never ever forget seeing someone looking at you like it's your fault and fade away...I have vivid dreams all the time, I drink and take sleeping pills every night so I dont dream and it works..I never seen those people I went with again.

Bless ya Cynthia you are a hero.. yes you do the job you do because you love it and love the fact that you can possibly save people's lives I would imagine but this definitely makes you a hero and you deserve a medal for what you do.

Rip to all of the victims and casualties of the las Vegas shooting. I still to this day have more than a thousand questions that NEED answers but it's hard when it's been hush hush ever since. And the moment I heard that the patrol officers responding to the scene were forced into signing a NDA (nondisclosure agreement) I unequivocally understood that we had a genuine cover up in progress and that is a sad sad tragedy in and of itself
