When he said “ i hope they find a tumor in his head or we’re in trouble” is lit the bottom line of all the interview. How can a “normal” person do this ? No clues, no sign no anything. Agree with him.
I agree. He's not saying it, but people who are thinking it know exactly what he means. The dots are not connecting. No evidence, no proof but he just snapped? Doesn't make sense.

Poor guy's a victim, too, in a way. He didn't deserve to lose his brother in such a confusingly violent fashion, just like the actual victims didn't deserve to lose their lives. It's awful and sad all around.
@@kingayy9267 This interview is 100% honesty. Guy is obviously shook by this happening. I can't believe this whole thing is as simple as it seems to be. His brother isn't to blame so he's not taking any. What a tragic and sad story from every angle.
Stephen paddocks motive was that the casinos blocked him from earning loyalty rewards points (that are like cash back for the casino store) on his gambling because he was breaking even and earning a lot of points as a hustle. It was like a side job for him and he was already kicked out of Reno. The Casinos donate to the sheriffs election and they dont want the motive to get out because they think it makes the casino look bad or implicates their liability to the victim. the casino also sued the victims of the shooting for getting shot on their property.
The high strung rambling, the divulging of personal history, the talking about the brother he knew, the shock and grief are so clear. I hope his family has gotten counseling, this is so sad and heart shattering.

This here folks is uncut, unedited, raw footage of a man telling the world everything he knows about his dead brother, days after he killed 59 and injured 500. This is real emotional trauma, shock, stress, and anxiety all bottled up and poored out for the world to see. Then people ask why he acts a certain way, or says certain things. Dude probably still hasn't slept to this day. Give him a break all you top tier "youtube detectives."
If you can't see what most of us can, that this man has something seriously wrong with him, then maybe you have had the luck to never encounter a sociopathic narcissist. Or you might be one. He has zero empathy for the victims. Many family members of mass killers have gone on TV under similar circumstances and did not act this way & say these things. Also, if they're so rich they could easily move into hiding and cooperate with the police only. He's enjoying the bragging & has moments when he knows he's going too far but he can't seem to stop himself. The things he said were repugnant & not normal. A normal person under similar circumstances would be begging the victims for forgiveness even if the weren't at fault, would be distraught for the victims & would state that he would give his life to save them if he only could have. This guy didn't even think to say these things because he is not normal. If you can't see it hmm
Beth, you make a good point. Though you should know that not everyone reatcs the same, and not every sociopath acts the same, even if he was one. You know, this was the biggest shooting in american history, how would you react if you were recorded for the whole, curious world to see to tell something that was very emotional?
It's his brother who he loved. No matter how villainous or horrible he may have been in his final moments, this is the guy's brother we're talking about. He looked up to him, he cared about him, he loved him. He is trying to find some way to remember him that doesn't completely desecrate his memory, which is incredibly difficult to do obviously, but could you imagine? It's not our job to do that. This man was sick and twisted of course, we know that, we don't have to love him, but good grief give this man a break.
This guy needs a press person so he don't have to keep rambling. He deserves privacy. I think he keeps talking because he feels obligated too because of his brothers action.
I feel so horrible for this man, he seems like a nice guy and his brother has ruined his name and any chance of recovery that this family will go through. Imagine growing up knowing that a past generation was a mass shooter that killed 50 people.
You don't look to a brother by what he's done but as a personal level because a sibling is one who understands and has been with the individual the most.
I feel sorry for the guy. His brothers actions are not his responsibility. The other day I also watched a documentary about the Parkland shooter. His brother was also being harassed, because of his brothers actions. What both of them did was inexcusable, but let's just stick to holding the single individuals responsible, not families and relatives.

Really feel for the brother, he finds it so hard to reconcile the person he knew with the person who did this. Such a conflicting loss. And the media should’ve left him alone to process all this, because he truly has none of the answers that they want from him. And it’s scary to everyone because ultimately there seems to be no real reason, no warning signs, why he decided to become a mass murderer and then commit suicide. Just seemed to be a normal, if extraordinarily rich guy, valued his privacy, cared about his family and friends and girlfriend..
This is so sad. He clearly needed mental health help. I can’t imagine finding out one of my close family members killed and wounded dozens of people, and then themselves...and with no explanation or suicide note. The media is wrong for doing this interview. Also, I think people forget that the families of these shooters are victims too. This man hadn’t even began to comprehend the scope of what his brother did, and it is probably hard to reconcile the brother he knew and loved to the monster that is responsible for this disgusting act of violence.
This guy is one of the MOST authentic, real people Ive ever heard interview. I think his words and behavior are 100% in tune with the situation he was thrown into. People...are just...people...
He seems like a decent man. I can’t imagine what he must be going through. I’m sure he loves his brother and can’t believe what he’s done. This man is grappling with the reality of it all.
Nobody makes money as a gambler. All gamblers lose in the long term. And video poker? Fixed odds betting terminals will drain all players of their cash. You can't use maths to win at video poker. His money came from something else. The gambling was a way to launder the money. I used to gamble and know a lot of "professional" gamblers. Either this guy was using the gambling as a front or he had ru through all his money and was bullshitting his equally tarded brother about being a winner. But if he wasn't a winner, where was the endless cash coming from. Strange indeed
Maybe if you’re an idiot. What I got from this guy rambling is that Steve was a quirky guy that did what he wanted. What that basically means is that their is no “why”. And even if their was a why you weren’t gonna find out cause Steve wouldn’t allow that.
I read that his OTHER brother got arrested for possession of child pornography. And their dad was a convict. Wow. I feel bad for this dude being caught in the middle of all of this crap. So evil. And he's just... trying to make sense of it. Wow.
This was and will probably be the first time and only time we hear a personal view from a family member of someone who was the lone purpatror of a mass shooting. He knew that his brother committed this act , but would never have imagined his brother could do this. He's even in denial that his brother must have been in some mental state to do what he did. This interview shows grief, anguish, guilt, anger, frustration and hurt all at the same time. I hope his family find peace.
C C exactly i see this and i want to give the guy a hug bc sure we dont know but you need to imagine what it would be like for everything hes saying to be true. Plus it rly seems genuine to me. And the funny thing is if he saw your comments i think he'd be the type of person to be understanding.
Family of weirdos taking Steves "gambling money" such a stand up guy and great family not benefiting from criminal activity such good all American people. Say the victims names and rest in peace that is all
He’s not bragging about Steve’s wealth he’s basically saying that he can’t process what he did being thou Steve was so wealthy and could do anything he dreamed of he does not understand what made him turn into a mad man !! I honestly feel bad for him and I feel bad the demon took over Steve and made him go on a rampage!! Rip to all the people he took from this earth too soon 😢🙏🏽
The poor man is so totally shocked. If course he is! He's trying to make sense out of this like everyone is. There is no sense. Trying to convince people that he's not a bad guy. Trying to convince himself too. He wasn't bragging about anything. He was just telling his brother's situation as he saw it.
People don't understand what this guy is trying to get across. He's saying he doesn't understand. He's doesn't understand how it could have happened. Good on this guy for being so open and talking about it. He took 30 minutes out of his day to speak to them and talk about his brother. He explained his wealth, he explained his intelligence.
His wealth and intelligence has nothing to do with the fact that he was a nutcase for firing on a crowd of innocent people. This arrogant guy is just bragging about wealth.
Dude, you're being gullible.. put your FEELINGS aside for a second and look at him, listen to his contradictions.. take notes of how he knows his brother.... yet he didn't know him well. He's lying.. very poor acting watch it again
I can't even imagine how one moves on from this. How one can even try to separate such a tragedy from the brother you loved and knew. So heart breaking to watch his mind scramble for the good in the brother he loved. Anyone is capable of horrible & evil things, period. I hope Eric, his mother & any surviving siblings/family are finding some semblance of peace these days.
I've NEVER seen an AT home interview where the reporters simply LISTENED. NEVER were they trying to GET THEIR QUESTION(s) IN. THIS is more like a Storytelling thing here.
Excellent point. Even if they were caught off guard by his hysterics, not one of them went in to reel him back in to the relevant information. They may have been waiting for choice nuggets but when he kept repeating the same thing over & over that was their queue to lead the topics. Remember when Hilary had those moments of weirdness caught on camera, that didn't stop the reporters from continuing to question her accordingly.
LaChicaTieneTumbao The reporters are just happy he’s talking and want to keep him talking because it’s good tv. Some are trying to interject but it wasn’t very effective.
Actually, I can relate to his reaction. When I was 19 beginning my second year of university, one of my classmates killed both his parents with a machete, then spent hours writing on the walls of the rooms upstairs with their blood, an apology letter to his only sibling, his brother, before killing himself. I just didn’t know how to process it, how to reconcile the kind, fun loving, gentlemanly friend that I knew, who did a lot of charity work and volunteered at several shelters, got up at 4.30 am everyday to pray, with.. this. Killing a stranger is bad enough, your own parents and then yourself? Tear your own family apart, leaving your own brother completely alone in this world. Like how?? It’s been years yet it’s still hard for me to think about him in a better light-the final act just.. just about wipes out all the good he did before and I have to ask God to forgive him for me, because I’m not sure I ever will.
But it provides a bit of background information. You can sense the separation from reality, and perverse normalisation of the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Raw reaction. We oftentimes hear and see the victim's family but how about the shooter's family, the murderer's family. This type of interview is really a gem because it is rare to see suspect's family be emotional, shocked and distraught. You don't see Ted Bundy's family like this, Adolf Hitler's family or even the Tops Supermarket shooter's parents who shot 9 black people the other day in New York. Same as the victim's family they are also grieving and in disbelief that the person they think they knew could do a heinous crime.
This guy is rambling because he absolutely CANNOT get his head around what happened. He is so genuinely shocked and confused, not recognizing the possibility that his brother was even involved-- it was not the person he knew. Put yourself in his place ! Reporters are asking for insight into the shooter’s reasoning, and they are asking the wrong person, a guy who has no answers either. I can’t imagine being him. You are simply watching a family member so devastated by the news, who was not particularly involved with his brother on a daily basis ( we all are like that with family members) trying to come to terms with this horrible event. He’s all over the place. Makes perfect sense to me.
Exactly right. Yet, I see so many comments, predictably, saying 'omg a crisis actor!!' or 'wow, this guy is crazy!!". I like to read into conspiracies and whatnot, and try to keep an open mind... but seeing how absolutely nutty most commenters on this are, how they apparently believe everything is staged (to the point I can't believe they can even function)... I guess most of these people just don't understand reality & having empathy for someone going through a situation that very few people ever have to experience, thankfully.
kk doc - I don’t think he was lying. At times he was trying to pick a better word. An Army ... of one. His brother didn’t need help. I heard that his brother would have thought of everything. Twice. 20 guns when he used 4. Ten times more bullets than he fired. A camera on the room service tray. I think I read that he wanted to buy tracer rounds (not sure if that is the correct term). He could have killed 1000. Absolutely fascinating.
This poor man, he has gone through so much, knowing he’s related to a psychopath. He’s amazing to be able to get on news-and speak of his brother, the killer. I have so much respect for him, and I hope he is doing well.
Would you rather him speak like in one of them fake formal interviews? This may be exploitative but I feel lucky to witness such a real interview, fascinating stuff. Also people will not hassle him I hope after seeing this, you would have to be unsocialized AF to think he's guilty of something.
feels like so many people just want to bury certain bad events like this one deep down the earth and never want to hear it again. That might be the reason, or possible something darker going on that the public doesn't know.
Remember, the biggest interview surrounding this situation was done by ELLEN! She gleefully stated it would be the only one before calling the guy out. As we all tuned in intently to hear what the security guard had to say, he barely spoke, she asked questions we already knew the answers to, and she even cut him off a couple times. It was minutes long and we haven't seen the guy since. Soo many things do not add up here. This is one of the cases that needs to be brought out to the public completely. Especially after the extreme song and dance we experienced with the big c, it's incredibly hard not to speculate that Steven was a pawn in a much bigger, darker scheme.
@@catherinerivers7883Who is the ‘they’? The only man who can answer that is the dead perpetrator. The ‘what’ of how it happened is pretty clearly understood and put together; just watch the New York Times clip on the course of the event. The ‘why’ will probably never be known, he may have been in a looming anxiety-ridden or embarrassing financial situation, or just thought it’d be fun/blaze of glory.
He's a victim as well! I'm just glad people for the most part are showing him compassion and empathy instead of threats and blame toward the family. I'm sure their just shocked and don't know the person that massacred 60 people because obviously that's not the man they know and love. We never know why people suddenly do something like this.
I'm surprised, and very pleased, at the maturity level of the comments section in this video. Very understanding with regards to the brother's state of mind and behavior, and not apportioning any blame to him for the crimes of his brother without any evidence of his culpability. Takes a very open minded and intelligent person to take the above position; considering that his brother was responsible for one of the worst mass shootings in American modern history.
Agreed. Sad and horrible as this story is, at least the emotional maturity here in the comment section is one of the lighter parts in the darkness. You don't usually see that here. Hell, the comment section is more understanding than whoever wrote the description of the video, even. They're calling it a "rambling and wide-ranging interview", which makes it sound as if Eric would be acting crazy or something, because he's the shooter's brother, right? Someone in the family HAS to be crazy, right? And I admit, before I actually watched the video, I expected Eric to be acting "suitably" weird, just like the description implies. But no, he's not crazy. He's legitimately upset and grieving and trying to wrap his mind around how any of this could've happened. If any of us were in his shoes, most of us probably wouldn't even be strong or brave enough to speak about it in public. I'm glad that Eric did this interview, even if it was probably way too soon to be asking him questions like that. I hate how much the families of killers and mass shooters are blamed and looked down on when most of the time, they had no idea that their loved ones would be capable of such awful things. Like Eric says: he's "just a guy". These families are just people, like all of us. I hope that Eric, and every other person who's spoken publicly after their family member killed someone (or multiple ones) have been and will be allowed to grieve their loved ones, AS WELL AS grieve those who were killed by said loved ones. I also hope that them speaking about it will open up the public's eyes a bit more to the struggles people who are related to perpetrators face. Huge thanks and respect to Eric for giving us all a very heartbreaking and revealing glimpse of that struggle. I hope him and his family have been able to find some sort of peace. 💔
This guy is certainly quirky, but don't at all think he's shady or up to something. I think there's a lot going on here. First of all, he's weird but well-meaning. He seems like a guy who will try to keep a conversation going with you 20 minutes after you try to leave. He does seem nice and open. He's shocked; his brother is dead, did something crazy and horrific, and it has affected his family, his kids, and himself. He's trying to make sense of it all. I think he likes to hear himself talk, and he enjoys having the reporters around to listen, but he's also a little overwhelmed. He's caught between trying to defend his brother's honor but also empathize with the thoudands of victims of the horrible thing his brother did. He feels bad, and he knows everyone's gonna think his brother's a monster, but he doesn't want them to. He's trying to defend Stephen's memory but also not trying to make it seem like he supports what he did. All of that emotion and thoughts going on, coupled with the fact that this guy is just kind of goofy and strange on his own, is what makes this interview seem weird. But he's not deranged. He's not crazy or anything. There's just a LOT going on here.
@Louis very good read. You got street smarts dude like me. I was thinking same thing about him. Not to many people are good at reading people and have the common sense to understand how someone is and why they are acting the way they are or saying the things they are saying

This is acting. Very bad acting. He knows too much. And he is directing everyone’s attention to what’s not important. He is put here to direct viewers to what’s not important. (IMO) Who are all these reporters and why aren’t they questioning this guy that seems to know all the answers to our questions? Are they all actors? Are they letting the guy talk because they are in on this and they and everyone in the video want us to believe what the Brother says? its okay when a rich person unloads his magazine on a crowd. It’s normal? I’m not buying this crap. Take it back!
Spoken from a Brother working through the process. I come from a large family and have three older Brothers. Imagine if you find out one of your Brothers is a mass murderer? He is genuine and speaking to the truth he knows while containing emotion. Very sad.
This is a very peculiar case, the rate of fire and acoustic signature of the gunfire in the Vegas shooting is identical to that of an M240 machine gun, which is a fully automatic belt-fed military weapon that is next to impossible for a civilian to legally obtain. There was no mention of an M240 in the FBI's official report on this incident. One of the volleys of gunfire was more than 200+ continuous rounds, which is indicative of a belt gun, and not an AR-15 equipped with a bumpstock. Bumpstocks have a variable rate of fire and there are often hiccups/stoppages before you can dump the entire magazine. Someone with very little firearms training would not have been able to work the bumpstock as flawlessly as Paddock did on that night. In the photos of Paddock's hotel room, you can see AR-15s with bipods equipped, which kills the recoil needed to properly work a bumpstock. Only a few dozen spent shell casings are seen on the floor, even though he fired 3,000+ rounds. Many highly credible witnesses (including police officers) adamantly insist that they heard gunfire coming from multiple directions. I am not convicted that Stephen Paddock committed this crime, and if he did, then he might not have done so alone.
I agree definitely doesn’t make since me being a firearms supporter a lot of the crime scene doesn’t make sense. I believe he was the fall guy from day one unbeknownst to him.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunner_syndrome I believe that most of the surviving members of this family have this genetic disorder. Two weeks after the attack, Paddock's other brother was arrested for pedophilia, the niece (Supposed daughter of this guy) is ironically involved in combat fighting (could be an upcoming terrorist) and the nephew (the son of this guy) is reportedly involved in programming (same type that Colorado theatre shooter James Holmes was involved in).
Heart goes out to him. Can’t imagine losing a loved one, and not being able to classify them as a victim - being forced by others to see them as the perp/the cause of suffering. You aren’t even allowed (by the public/media) to grieve your lil bro.
Well the only place in a Vegas hotel that's safe & highly secure are the casinos. All the hallways & elevators are pretty much a free-for-all, 0 cameras...
Poor guy. I understand trying to not paint his brother as a horrible person. He's been through a lot. He doesn't want to remember his brother as a murderer. It takes a lot of courage to come out and say what he said. My heart goes out to him.
I agree. His behavior is definitely bizarre and he probably should have saved himself from doing this on television however it seems like his brother truly did just "snap" While I feel so much worse for the innocent victims his brother took away from this world, I can't help but feel for this guy too. He lost his brother, and I can't even imagine grieving not only your own brother's death, but the idea that he murdered and injured hundreds of people.....I mean....wow....no wonder he's not very coherent here and rambling on for 30 minutes straight.
I feel like he had to speak to the media or else it would look very suspicious, like we would otherwise not know how his brother would feel about the attack or we might not know if he feels like planning an attack as well...

What purpose would ol Steve have to just shoot the guy in the leg lol then just let him go? God this is so weird. Cover-up city so far. Changing timelines every 24 hours.

This interview is a mess on so many levels! The interview questions, the responses, etc. Put a "respect our privacy" sign on the door until he gets his thoughts together or indefinitely. It's weird how he keeps talking about himself.

Also, if they're so rich they could easily move into hiding and cooperate with the police only. He's enjoying the bragging & has moments when he knows he's going too far but he can't seem to stop himself. The things he said were repugnant & not normal. Something a bit strange about his manor. A bit phoney. Are the whole family CIA.
Don't take that on. Don't hurt yourself judging him.

You are spot on. 👍 👍 double thumbs up.
I guess most of these people just don't understand reality & having empathy for someone going through a situation that very few people ever have to experience, thankfully.

feels like so many people just want to bury certain bad events like this one deep down the earth and never want to hear it again. That might be the reason, or possible something darker going on that the public doesn't know.
Remember, the biggest interview surrounding this situation was done by ELLEN! She gleefully stated it would be the only one before calling the guy out.
This guy talks like a substitute highschool history teacher
His wife never listens to him, this much is obvious.

This is acting. Very bad acting. He knows too much. And he is directing everyone’s attention to what’s not important.
He is put here to direct viewers to what’s not important. (IMO)
Who are all these reporters and why aren’t they questioning this guy that seems to know all the answers to our questions? Are they all actors? Are they letting the guy talk because they are in on this and they and everyone in the video want us to believe what the Brother says?
its okay when a rich person unloads his magazine on a crowd. It’s normal?
I’m not buying this crap. Take it back!
seen better acting in a will smith movie
Spoken from a Brother working through the process. I come from a large family and have three older Brothers. Imagine if you find out one of your Brothers is a mass murderer? He is genuine and speaking to the truth he knows while containing emotion. Very sad.
This doesn't add up
This is a very peculiar case, the rate of fire and acoustic signature of the gunfire in the Vegas shooting is identical to that of an M240 machine gun, which is a fully automatic belt-fed military weapon that is next to impossible for a civilian to legally obtain.
Indeed. AR with a bump stock won’t offer a reliable rate of fire, while every volley was consistent in its speed.
I agree definitely doesn’t make since me being a firearms supporter a lot of the crime scene doesn’t make sense. I believe he was the fall guy from day one unbeknownst to him.
*To you, this is a monster. To me, this is my brother that I loved and who was a terrific guy up until this. I don't understand it either*

I’ve not heard anything about the victims it’s all about money and his brother. There's definitely a problem in this family😒
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brunner_syndrome I believe that most of the surviving members of this family have this genetic disorder. Two weeks after the attack, Paddock's other brother was arrested for pedophilia, the niece (Supposed daughter of this guy) is ironically involved in combat fighting (could be an upcoming terrorist) and the nephew (the son of this guy) is reportedly involved in programming (same type that Colorado theatre shooter James Holmes was involved in).
not really they are just good actors and are getting money from the government for their role in the media

Heart goes out to him. Can’t imagine losing a loved one, and not being able to classify them as a victim - being forced by others to see them as the perp/the cause of suffering. You aren’t even allowed (by the public/media) to grieve your lil bro.
Well said.
There must be guilt for even thinking positively about him, for his family.
They're victims, too, sadly.
Incredibly well said.

Hotels don’t have a lot of cameras. They usually have one on each floor. Since he was in a corner room it could be out of the camera
No the camera shots of him bringing up an arsenal to his room. Him before the incident, anything just seems weird that there's nothing.
Well the only place in a Vegas hotel that's safe & highly secure are the casinos. All the hallways & elevators are pretty much a free-for-all, 0 cameras...
billiam sharpe they can’t release that yet
I can’t image what he’s going through and went through, it’s too much
I wouldnt say his brother was a horrible person. He did a horrible thing, but everyone can snap

He CHOSE to do this unlike other families of shooters who mostly do what you said
You're an amazing brother, Eric.
